Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] All things made Easy to rule
-[X] Boiling Sea Mastery, 4 XP
-[X] Technology up to two dots, 2 XP
-[X] Technology Excellency, 4 XP
-[X] Mercy in Servitude 4 XP
-[X] Transcendent Lord of Flies 4 XP
-[X] Hellscry Chakra 8 XP

So 26 xp spent. It Gives us a much needed boost in our utility charms and some social against CoDs. It also boosts tech and gets us a new excellency.

Here is an alternative.

[X] All things made Easier to rule without tech
-[X] Boiling Sea Mastery, 4 XP
-[X] Mercy in Servitude 4 XP
-[X] Transcendent Lord of Flies 4 XP
-[X] Hellscry Chakra 8 XP
-[X] All Things Betray 8 XP

THis is the above plan but without Technology. We put off tech for one more turn and in return we get some really, REALLY good social skills.

For example, in the All things Betray + Hellscry combo, we roll at a difficulty of 3. This is scene long at 2 Essence.

The dumbest and weakest death god in existence, who also raised her to be so out of touch that it's actually a flaw on her character sheet.

I mean, she's somehow so ignorant of modern mortal culture that it's an issue while talking to people her own age and so sheltered from the supernatural that she allowed herself to be possessed and had no idea who the major players in town were. So it's not like he raised her in seclusion to get her up to speed on the spooky side of the street or something.

You might be right about this particular situation, but it bears repeating because "raised by a god" seems to have a lot less mileage for her than it would for other demigods.

Is that how you want to handle it, splitting the Pool up between our entire Party?

The alternative is be making a lot of judgement calls about who contributed more to what and that often comes down to individual rolls and the relationship between them. It is incredibly time consuming and at the end of the day the result is going be subjective anyway. Not to mention that when you will have 4-5 companions it will get even more ungainly counting individual XP streams for each of them.

[] Plan: Kick a Fallen Angel (redux)
-[] Molly:
--[] Sapphire Ritual of Exorcism: 10XP
--[] Boiling Sea Mastery: 4 XP
--[] Mercy in Servitude: 4 XP
-[] Lydia:
--[] Hunter's Bolt: 6 XP

We are short on ranged attacks, let's give Lydia one :p

I also still want my sapphire exorcism.

Why not just give her the NPC treatment and scale her accordingly. That solves a ton of issues.

Why Hellscy chakra? I don't get it.

@DragonParadox several important questions for planning:
1) Can Naked Wicked Souls be used on phogograps, and/or recordings? Can it be used multiple time on the same target to reroll, essentially?
2) See my questions on Rendered Villain Dispersal here. Specifically, how large of a liquid vessel can we disperse in? And can we choose where we reappear?

EDIT: Oh, it's a shared XP pool. Ok, that changes things. Let me think.

In spite of trying to end on a more optimistic note the three of you continue to work in silence, the feeling of something dark looming just on the other side of the darkened horizon pressing down upon you all. That feeling has a name, Corb, king of the Fomori and it seems ultimate patron of this house of horrors. The unwholesome visage of a man, if man one can call him, with blue green-skin, watery eyes and and an unnaturally large mouth flashes through your mind's eye as you look upon the place with eyes of fire.
Interesting. We pinged King Corb but we didng ping Ethniu.
Or likely asked the wrong questions.
Ah well. Another time.

That does sound good.
As far as I know @DragonParadox hasn't revealed if there was anything special among the things her father left her, an Essence-storing Talisman sounds like an option?
That and armor sound like minimums.

This is literally the Dragonblooded anti-Shaping Charm?
It is not the greatest, but it is Perfect in its own way and will resist Mab attempting to turn you into an ice-statue in the very heart of her power as well as it would any regular deathcurse.
Remember that this is DF.
At a cost of 2 Essence, two repeat attacks by the same person, or two different mages repeat something similar, they will have mote tapped her.

Maybe Those marked by her power could be exempt?
Meaning animal-companions or people wearing her anti-ghost rune?
Animal and/or spirit companions at a minimum.
Human companions are not necessarily part of her thematics, but animal companions are. As are elements of the Wild Hunt.
You'd expect her power to account for it.

Stalker in the Wild (••)
The Exigent is a hunter in forest and sky alike and the world does not hinder her hunt.
System: Reduce the difficulty of survival rolls to feed or protect yourself and others in any kind of wilderness natural or magical by 2. Animals never willingly harm the Exigent except in self-defence, regardless of training
By spending 1 Essence the Exigent becomes immune to a single type of environmental hazard for the rest of the scene.
Something like that?
Yeah, along those lines.
Either Essence or WP cost.
That's pretty poweful, though I'm not against it if @DragonParadox approves.
Using her powers for academics was just a reference to her Excellency though.
She uses Divine Attributes and Intelligence is one of hers.
She has a low enough organic mote pool that I have to doubt that she was primarily leaning on an Excellency.

Why not just give her the NPC treatment and scale her accordingly. That solves a ton of issues.

It 'solves the issue' by making me run the character, that might be fine with one of them at low Essence, but give it time for there to be several of them at higher essence with all sorts of choices to make and that is less time I can spend on other aspects of the world or updating the quest.

That would still mean having to decide which parts of the xp something would have given then go to molly and which don't, and I am certain people who actually know the mechanics could always find something to criticise about NPC builds.

  1. No on photos and recordings, yes in repeated use
  2. You get to come out at whatever part of the body of water you like, yes that means you can cross the Atlantic in one use of the charm, strong but seems to be very much Rules as intended for the charm's fluff

To quote myself:
2)No we cant usually identify creatures of darkness that way until they become overt.
None of the Pathfinder guards pinged as CoDs until they went loud, for example.
Opening her inner eye and attuning it to spiritual desolation, the Infernal gains the ability to detect potential servants or rivals, and to weigh the souls of those she meets. System: Reflexively spend 1 Essence. For the rest of the scene, the Infernal becomes aware when she stands in the presence of any creature of darkness, though she doesn't inherently know what sort of supernatural being any given individual may be. Furthermore, by concentrating on a specific individual for a few moments and making a successful Perception + Occult roll against difficulty 6, she can behold the subtleties of their anima and learn their current emotional state, as well as some clues about their nature. If you wish to embellish this with aura colors and the like, a chart can be found on page 136 of V20.

Furthermore, it allows us to read people's emotional auras which is immensely valuable in social situations, and to make a good guess about what sort of supernatural creature they are, if any.
Is that person a ghoul, a Whampire, a Sidhe or a loup garou? This will allow us to guess.
We get Essence regen by learning supernatural secrets. This just turbocharges our ability to figure those things out.
Identifying supernaturals.
Identifying types of supernaturals.
Identifying people possessed/ridden by spirits and other influences.
Emotion reading, which is everything from a knockoff lie detector to a social cheat.

[X] Courts of Monsters and the Dead
-[X] Boiling Sea Mastery, 4 XP
-[X] Transcendent Lord of Flies 4 XP
-[X] Mercy in Servitude 4 XP
-[X] Technology Excellency, 4 XP
-[X] Rendered Villain Dispersal, 4 XP
-[X] Lydia
--[X] Oxen Body, 3 XP
--[X] Authority of the Psychopomp, 3 XP

The logic is as follows:
BSM and TLF for difficulty adjustment. Mercy in Servitude and TLF for recruitment, technology excellency for Dragon's Nest building and general improvements / crafting, RVD for transportation, ease of essence recovery, etc.

For Lydia - something to toughen her up, and to be better at talking to ghosts, something she should be good at to get quests and grind XP.

These choises should extend our ability to operate to the whole Great Lake area, the ability to get quests to helping unquiet dead, and lay the foundation to making our empire.

How does this work, it is a good charm but recruitment?
Through this:
The difficulty to feed and protect others in such
environments is reduced by three (minimum of 3).
I asked, and it was confirmed that getting others to follow our orders as long as the goal is to "feed and protect" them falls under this charm. Here:
Wait... And sorry to bother you again @DragonParadox , but would Transcendent Lord of Flies apply to our rolls for getting people to follow our commands / recruitment attempts, as long as our primary / important goal / motivation was well being and protection of our minions?
As long as what you are protecting them from is the environment yes. So if you ask Timmy not to jump in the lava that would get you the bonus, but not if you are trying to persuade Timmy not to do something else stupid.
So, as an initial hook we make a speech about "rebuilding and renovating" and stuff like that.

It doesnt work for recruitment.
It works for keeping recruited people alive, sure.
But thats not the same thing as saying it works for recruitment.

you sure preventing combat with red court isn't worth exp dp? cause like basically every single account of working with them in canon ended in betrayal.
