Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

It doesnt work for recruitment.
It works for keeping recruited people alive, sure.
But thats not the same thing as saying it works for recruitment.
It works like this:
We start with "do these things to protect you from environment, like renovating your squatting sites in the Underground". That's under TLF. They do these things. Then we use "oh, see how well things work out when you follow my orders? Keep doing that and you'll be golden" maneuver.

It's not a perfectly direct application, but it's close.

EDIT: Even without this application, it's still too food a charm to pass on.

Okay, I've done a final run through Lydia's Charms with Uju's suggestions Here:

Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files) Crossover - Fantasy

Final editing run: Excellence of the Tireless Psychopomp (•) The Exingent can draw on their divine Essence to fullfill its eternal duties with skill and power beyond any mortal. System: The first time the character purchases this Charm, it may be applied to any of her Divine Attributes. At any...

Last round of changes underlines as always.
@DragonParadox
If that's okay could we use it?

About the xp pool. This is fine(tm). It's probably 'just' the QM deciding 'i want to slow this nonsense down before they become untouchable a year from now and so i can use more than one book before the ending of the quest'.

Hmm... yeah the charms seem balanced enough. I'll change over the link.

SO probably not. I am still tempted. This essentially allows her to summon a minion, with possibly a lot of firepower. If we spend a bit to make armored and armed car with cyber demon controller, than gift it to Lydia, we could get essentially a summonable tank for our party. Equip it with flamethrowers, machine guns, a rocket launcher, holy water sprinklers, etc, plus a lot of armor, and Lydia starts being able to take on monsters way above her weight class. If I do this, I probably will switch Oxen Body for this.

I would like to hear from people about this idea.

EDIT: Or it can wait for the next purchase.

Queen Mab: All at once a sense of great unease has come upon me, as if a thousand masquerades had screamed out in agony and then were no more :V

She does not, she is also not old enough to get one, though there are ways to handle the paperwork if you throw enough demons at it
Yeah, waiting then.

We could totally disguise it as a normal-ish car. Or make it deliberately look like some sci-fi car. I mean, this is from 2005. Just "I am a heiress with a lot of money. Oh, rocket launchers? They are obviously props"

EDIT: We'll make her a car for her birthday. When is it, anyway?

Nope.
Rignt now, if I was giving Lydia a minion, I'd get her a Familiar 5 Hound with Spirit-Tied Pet, Saga Beast Virtue, and either Deathless Beast Fetter or Red Toothed Execution Order. Its something she can actually take indoors, underwater, and anywhere she can go, it can come too.

Plus, it can literally step out of her anima if she whistles for it as backup regardless of distance, has a powered up supermode, and if killed will resurrect by the end of the story.
15XP.

Look, i know you're excited about your new circle mate and all, but have some bro-code here. Make it a joint gift from you and your brother, her boyfriend, if you're going to give something as overwhelming as a tank-car. Preferably something he helps with too.

And never ever never tell him that his girlfriend father literally lives in her head.

This is 3 XP, and would probably be a Godzilla threshold summon if used indoors. It's not like those are exclusive. Still, it's good to wait.
With every fact I learn about Lydia, I am more and more convinced that we should, first of all, look into her mother's identity and nature, and, secondly, do a thorough investigation of her nature. Because more and more it looks like "she's being statted like an exalt" is not just doylist mechanics, but in-universe sign of her being something new, something very, very old and unseen in recent ages.

I swear, if Kemmler actually discovered (but was unable to open) the black vault and was studying it, and using at least some of that ancient knowledge...

We've had multiple fights so far since returning from Arctis Tor.
The warehouse fight, the ghost fight, the museum fight, the Nazi mook fight, the Fomor fight.
In absolutely none of them would the terrain have been suitable for an armed car.

Plus, its a car. Not a tank.
This just doesnt feel like it would be worth the investment.

Look into it, sure. Eventually.
More pressing issues at hand. Plus, if Arawn is keeping secrets, it would take some digging.
It has nothing to do with the Black Vault though; that was a prison for Exalt shards, not a library.

Plus, its a car. Not a tank.
Nothing stops it from being both. In fact, nothing stops the designated vessel from being an airplane or, hell, an aircraft carrier.

Making a custom armored and armed vessel is possible, if we put a bit of effort into it.

Assuming what was held inside couldn't be observed from outside, the bindings itself could be studied.

Alright, now revising my plan a bit.

[X] Plan Devil Queen v2.0
-[X] Boiling Sea Mastery, 4 XP
-[X] Transcendent Lord of Flies 4 XP
-[X] Mercy in Servitude 4 XP
-[X] Technology Excellency, 4 XP
-[X] Rendered Villain Dispersal, 4 XP
-[X] Naked Wicked Souls. 3 XP
-[X] Mocking Murmurs Retort, 3 XP

So 26 XP in all. It goes all in on social and has great utility.

Boiling Sea + TLF = Environmental protection and -1 difficulty. Rendered Villain Dispersal means we can take a trip to europe and be back for lunch.

Tech excellency for our craft project and NWS + MMR for our social heavy lifting. Mercy for our minions.

So Why Mocking Murmurs Retort? It is broken.

Mocking Murmurs Retort (•)
The Infernal mimics the words of another, speaking them a moment later but out of key and with a twisted tone. Her mimicry poisons the speaker's words, making them ring harsh and false in the ears of all who hear them. The Infernal needs not speak her mockery audibly, and can mumble under her breath if she likes. She only needs to be able to hear the speaker's words as they are uttered, and needs not actually be present where they are spoken; as such, this Charm can be used against things like live televised speeches.

So yeah, it is utterly busted as we can stealth ruin people from long range.

That was deliberate. The Exigent raised by a death god and speaks five languages at 15, you expect it shows.
Lydia having 3 dots of Academic in no way justifies her having access to Celestial tier charms, this isn't how exigent charmset-building works. Fuck, it is actually pretty good for a celestial charm too, now I look at it. Instant research? DC reduction? This is not a terrestrial charm. This is not appropriate.
@DragonParadox
Look, if you want us to slow down and stop investing 20XP per arc into Molly, this is fine. Sort of. I'd rather see a direct xp flow reduction, to be perfectly frank.

From a mechanical perspective, if reducing speed of Molly's progression is not intended, the shared XP pool puts us in a position where we have either a choice to purchase xp-efficient charms for party infernal, or buy vastly lesser and inefficient charms for the party terrestrial. And further encourage attempts to sneak in celestial charms into terrestrial charmset.

This is not good.

[X]Plan Water Dragon
--[X]Boiling Oil Mastery 4xp
--[X]Transcendent Lord of Flies 4xp
--[X]Mercy in Servitude 4xp
--[X]Etiquette 4 3xp
--[X]Technology 2 2xp
--[X]Athletics 2 2xp
-[X]Lydia
--[X]Essence 2: 8XP

Spent: 27XP
Remainder: 27XP.

REASONS
Boiling Oil Mastery is a DC modifier that makes things easier whenever we are wet.
Just empty a bottle of liquid over her head, and her difficulties to do anything drops by -1 DC. It also allows her to walk on water, breathe water, and to ignore all sensory penalties underwater.

Transcendent Lord of Flies makes us immune to environmental hazards like suffocation, heat stroke and drowning.

Mercy in Servitude because if we start working underground in the vicinity of ghouls and renegade Whampires, we'll probably need this. I would have honestly preferred to buy Rendered Villain Dispersal instead of Mercy in Servitude because of how it allows us to regenerate Essence more freely and to do the teacup ninja thing, but we've been putting this off.

Etiquette 4 is part of our preparation for meeting with Mab by Halloween.
Its not really something we can, or should put off improving unless we are looking forward to getting punked.

Technology 2 is by Word of QM a necessity for building out the Dragons Nest to modern standards.
And we gave our word, so we will probably begin work there in the next couple of weeks.

Lydia gets an Essence bump to E2, which is expensive but increases her Essence tank by either 20% or 40%, depending on whether we are using Dragonblood or Liminal Essence totals
Your Essence tier determines how much Essence you can spend in a turn.

At the moment, she can only spend 1 Essence/turn.
She has Kattrin's jacket and her father's armor, whatever it is, so she should be good to do without Ox Body for a month or so.
If she needs underarmor to wear around, we can make some.
