Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

We are already an insanely good combat monster. I would want to save until we can start granting wishes. Or at the very least pick up something for negotiation. Dresden is a setting where social rules much more then physical prowess
If we pick up Rage Recast - Transcendent Anathema, I can agree to turning fully to stuff like that for a long time. I 100% want that first though.

I expect a lot of things we would be hard pressed against soak Lethal well, less so Aggravated. Our combat build is nearly complete, but only nearly so. So lets finish it then move on.

Binding? Exorcism? Magic item creation?

All good.

False spring beckons let's us get minions, heal, and make minions more manageable.

AAAAHHH I WANT THAT CRAFTING CHARM!

I rather get by rage recast tbh. Sorcery can wait till we get fully kitted out.

That spell for making supernaturally durable items and soak improving armor out of mundane stuff could be very valuable for a few different reasons.

Directly it'd be good for making items for ourselves and our squishy mortal connections.

More important, it'd be a great way to try get an in with the white council. We are going to need to deal with them at some point, and they're good friends to have when they can get their heads out of their asses.

Ancient magical secrets are wizard catnip, and Ancient Sorcery is about as ancient and weird of a magic secret as you can get.

On a production level, the WC has issues with making true magic items because wizards mostly use foci and it's a rare skill set.

Which makes ancient sorcery a fascinating mystery to trade on and a good to trade with when networking with the wizards who may otherwise be assigned to a death squad with our name on it.

Not that I'm saying Ancient Sorcery is the hands down best option, but I'd prefer more options to additional combat power.

The fetch wasn't really that strong as far as DF goes, but if you can kill him in the first few exchanges of a sword fight you're starting to reach the point where the people worth fighting will have exotic abilities to play with and can avoid melee.

I'd still like to get stuff like by rage recast, but at this point I think it gives less additional utility than getting something more utility focused.

Social stuff in DF, at least where the monsters are involved, generally only happens when you're powerful enough that they can't just gank you like a squishy muggle for getting in their way, looking at them wrong, or just being in their presence at the wrong time.

Harry sure doesn't interact with that side of the supernatural world because of his stunning good looks and superlative wit. It's the threat of magical incineration and his really effective force fields that get him to the table more than anything else.

There is a charm for that at least for the people who see a crown of hellfire and think it is sweet:

Demonic Primacy of Essence (•)
The Infernal garbs herself in hellish authority; all lesser wicked things are like writhing worms or mere grains of sand cast before her, and instinctively recognize this imbalance.
System: Whenever the Infernal deals with a lesser creature of darkness than herself, she permanently reduces the difficulty of all social actions (including the activation roll of powers to suborn the will of such creatures) by two.

Basically it is externalizing some of your 'scary demigod from a bygone age' energy

This would be good...after Crowned With Fury. Since it lowers difficulty of Charms like that too.

...and that's how Molly made Nicodemus suck her toes and thank her for the privilege. o_O

Yeah, Denarians are serious business, serious business enough that if they break the Rules of Engagement, the White God's angels get to counterbalance it with their own nonsense.

(Lasciel mindfucking Harry remotely despite him having not picked up the coin allowed Uriel to fuck around and counter it, and he was much better at doing so than she was.)

Their Concern would be seeing a Peer showing up who wasn't tied to The Rules. Because Molly can--long term--completely turn the tide, one way or the other.

Except that she's tied to a Knight of the Cross, which makes it look like the White God playing 13D chess from their perspective, so they assume the worst.

Basically, don't expect mucking with Denarians to come easy, Molly's advantage is that she can engage them without it being a "You just lose, okay?" Like what normally happens if anyone who isn't a Knight of the Cross or Harry Dresden tries to stand in their way.

Compared to the spell that let's us make actual magic items its trash.

If I had to choose an Ancient Sorcery to learn its between Emerald Binding and Sapphire Unbinding. Probably Sapphire. I wouldn't actually want to use our once per story chance until we meet a problem that'd require Sorcery though.

We also dont know what if anything we can do with the magic of the dresden files world.

They have a tradition and knowledge completely alien to exalted.

Wait who is Nicodemus? I've definitely heard the name before so I assumed he was a historical figure aka a vampire.

Leader of the Order of the Blackened Denarius. Centuries of Swordfighting experience. Minions with cut out tongues. Used the Shroud of Turin to try and set off a plague 3 books ago in the setting. Deals with the Fallen Angel in his head like a partner. Can use his shadow like a hang glider.

Anything said within vicinity of a shadow, he knows. He also is Immune to most forms of harm if you aren't strangling him with the noose he wears around his neck

I love it. I want every horrible, evil little creature we meet to simp for us.

Getting one early let's us investigate how ancient sorcery interacts with the DF one. It'd be annoying to have to base our discussions on how AS works with modern magic on supposition instead of something concrete.
