Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Take the Earth Wyrm's offer, much faster transport around this area of Undertown (Cost 8 AP of work with the tools you have available; potential future access to Dragon's Nest)

This is the first step towards securing a local place of power that also has a live in guard.
Developing it into a proper place for an Exalt to work will come with further costs, maybe a proper shrine for the Drake and the start of hoard or something.

But this will be well worth the effort to develop, both the place and it's inhabitant.

Meh if we had demonic primacy of essence he would be swearing loyalty to us.
You assume it counts as a creature of darkness.

Which is very helpful if someone tries to interact with you in any way, perfect ambush protection and all, but if someone's looking at you from another room well out of the range of your anima that is just normal perception you have to roll.
Which is why we need Alertness and Awareness ASAP, as well as probably Perception 3.

Any one actually thinking we won't go for the shiny?

3)Easier ways to remove his mantle from play. Just wait for Halloween
I am fairly sure that was a secret known to very few.
"I'd ask where the electricity comes from down here, but I'm not sure I want to know..." you joke, voice swallowed up by the quiet of the station a little too quickly.
MIght actually come from something connected to the demon city. I wonder what the bills are like.

Anyway, the elemental dragon (well, elemental wyrmling, really, if an old one) seeks not just a better dwelling. It seeks purpose. It basically is directly asking us to take over. Who are we to deprive it from our glory? We are Exalted. We naturally create wonders, and reshape the world. Let's start.

I wonder how hard it'll be to set up some sort of underground railway leading directly to our house... Fastest tunnel boring machine can make 170 meters of tunnel per day. So, roughly 800 meters per day for us, let's say 500 meters due to travel time, need for sleep, etc. So, if we live 20 kilometers away as the crow flies, it'll take us a month and a half to construct the tunnel. Let's say three months for the whole construction. That's reasonable, I feel.

Before you can decide if you should raise your hand or start talking the thing bows its head and in a heavy voice like the scrape of steel on stone it hisses: "You an old sssmell, a sstrange ssmell... power and purpossse. You ssssmell of divinity, but not like the lasssst one, older, ssstronger. What do you ssseek?"
older and stronger than the daughter of an ankou.

Gard keeps getting puzzle pieces...

Bob knows, but he hasn't told Harry yet.
Mab knows Bob knows.

Which has Bob scared shitless.

It's the one topic he likes to talk less about than necromancy.

There's a reason Santa Claus has the best intelligence network in the world.
The Naughty List is real! 😲

And Santa Claus has repurposed it into an information gathering tool of unparalleled versatility. The NSA would either shit themselves or cream their collective shorts if they learned of its existence, then try to infiltrate the North Pole to gain access to it.

-Dropping a lot of hints here. Gard is going to know the color of our underwear by the time we're done. Cant be helped.
-The Earth Wyrm saying we smell of Divinity is not something that Gard missed.
-Is Lydia flying or is that just a figure of speech? Okay, now I'm jelly.
-White Court dregs. I get the impression thats a potential plot hook for minions. We might be interested in the Misery charm.
-Ooh Earth Wyrm. Potential familiar?
-TAKE. THE DEAL.
Wow. 99 on a d100+10 is a very good roll. I can see why we got this opportunity.

@DragonParadox
Im assuming discovering an Elemental and potential Dragons Nest counts as a secret worth +2 Essence.
Scene change after all.

This will speed us up, as well as unlock future potential for dealings in that place, as well as future potential dealings with wyrms.

who knows, we might end up with new contact later on.

The idea of an urban Stone dragon elemental is so very Shadowerun. I like it!

  1. She is standing on a platform of stone that moves like a wave along the tunnel
  2. The roll was actually 1d100 +10 (scent of Divinity) - 2d6 (Taint of the Hells). So yeah even more lucky

Beyond the various logistical issues associated with this sort of operation that were highlighted last week, I would rather not so blatantly link our secret lair with our family home.

Now if we wanted purchase a nearby building to link to it, one we could use as our own residence in the mortal world, that would be more palatable.

I was thinking about that, too. When this arc concludes, we might need to consider formally asking Gard not to share our secrets with anyone, or at least limit such information to Odin, if she is willing. After all, we're comrades in battle now and have been helping her put an end to Katrina.

Potential Dragons Nest. Potential training location.
Potential Familiar or Ally in the Earth Wyrm. Potential access to White Court minions who hang out in this area.
Potential portal spot for inhabitants of our inner Hell, when we get it.

All for the cost of a weekend project. No brainer.

We got this option on a roll of 99 on a DC100+10 - 2d6.
Closest thing to rolling a 100.

I have to wonder what Gard is thinking. Getting divinity is not easy. You can inherit the mantle, I think, though I'm not sure if it'll grant divinity in the sense it was mentioned here. You can take up a denarian coin, but Michael wouldn't work with us... The most hilarious comedic conclusion Gard can come to is that Charity is the source of our divinity. Michael is the wielder of Amoracchius, the Sword of Love. How long until the Dragon Layer jokes start flying around? With Charity being assumed to be a human form of a Dragon? I mean, it's very unlikely, but still, what are the options other than "one of our parents is actual divinity"?

Just to be clear 8 AP is not a weekend, one month has 6 AP, so if you work for a moth and a half and do nothing else you will finish this with the tools you have available.

Just get a surprise negator cheaper and can't fail.

You already have that one when your anima is flaring, it's just that it only applies to ambushes not people looking at you.

We'll have to buy a lot of pizza to pay for help in constructing our layer. And probably win that lottery to hire some discreet contractors too. I wonder if Marcone has any connections in construction business, or if this is too cliche for him.
