Wouldn't have helped.
Though surprise negator is on my list of charms to get ASAP.
Wouldn't have helped.
"Greetings, oh Prince of the Earth. Long have I slumbered, waiting for your return. Let me guide you to your panoply. Your Warstrider is eager for battle". Or something to that effect.
The Naughty List is real! 😲
And Santa Claus has repurposed it into an information gathering tool of unparalleled versatility. The NSA would either shit themselves or cream their collective shorts if they learned of its existence, then try to infiltrate the North Pole to gain access to it.
We'll have to buy a lot of pizza to pay for help in constructing our layer. And probably win that lottery to hire some discreet contractors too. I wonder if Marcone has any connections in construction business, or if this is too cliche for him.
Possibly, yes. WIn a lottery to buy a lot of mobile construction equipment, inhabit it with demons, have them help? Then use them as improvised guards / starting to expand into the underground network until we get a proper underground base. Yeah, I can see this. We still probably want to bring Harry and Bob here, to help with the warding, I think. And yes, buy an aboveground building somewhere nearby, to make our own entrance into underground. Maybe have Harry move in there. He could work as a guard for rent.Letting little folk and mobsters know where the dragon nest is will probably get us some competition for it. I think it's worth the effort to do it ourselves, possibly with the inclusion of HMP devils bound to handmade fun sized construct equipment.
Molly downplaying her divination talent. After a moment's thought you give a fair accounting of the powers you are likely to use in a duel, not only are you likely to use them in a duel thus making any secrecy moot, but if Marcone interrogated Ace and his ilk Gard would know about all of that already. When it comes to subtler arts though... "I have some skill in divinination enough that I can track Katrina's car in real time."
We do not want her to see us divining things.Odds are she realized you do not want her to see how you do your divination. Well good for her then, you refuse to feel guilty over a reasonable precaution.
Molly downplaying her crafting skills."I can make simple EMP devices, assuming there's a hardware store around here."
Molly demonstrating her crafting skills."Ware Bokkr on the war path," Gard murmurs under her breath as delicate many jointed contraptions of black iron unfold from the heart of your power and begin to solder the devices together hissing and clicking faster and faster as though growing excited at the purpose these are to be put.
Molly surprisingly good at "medical crafting"."You stitched him up?" You don't think you have aver heard Gard sound amused before, though to be fair she sounds impressed too.
Phone capable of interpreting surprisingly complex orders."Clippy send call to 911, leave your voice as is they are going to know you are trying to hide it...." Something occurs to you. "Use an encryption site, like the kind they use for swatting."
Can scare near a dozen ghouls into flight.
Gard making a connection to our phone and divination."How certain are you of the information?" Gard gives your phone a very pointed look.
Gard finding out Molly really undersold her divination talent.ou had just revealed a lot about your divining powers to Gard. Some people can douse for water, you have just proven that you can douse for specific girls in the maze of Undertown at the drop of a hat.
Spirit recognizes us as divine, older and stronger than an Ankou's daughter."You an old sssmell, a sstrange ssmell... power and purpossse. You ssssmell of divinity, but not like the lasssst one, older, ssstronger. What do you ssseek?"
Hiring Harry would probably be safe, but I doubt we could get him to move. He's pretty stubborn about his habits and space.Possibly, yes. Nice. Now I'm jelly. Definitely voting for Flight.
- She is standing on a platform of stone that moves like a wave along the tunnel
- The roll was actually 1d100 +10 (scent of Divinity) - 2d6 (Taint of the Hells). So yeah even more lucky
If this place is partly in the NeverNever then it might not be a physical distance thing, and more a resonance thing.Beyond the various logistical issues associated with this sort of operation that were highlighted last week, I would rather not so blatantly link our secret lair with our family home. Now if we wanted purchase a nearby building to link to it, one we could use as our own residence in the mortal world, that would be more palatable.
Eh. She isnt stupid.I was thinking about that, too. When this arc concludes, we might need to consider formally asking Gard not to share our secrets with anyone, or at least limit such information to Odin, if she is willing. After all, we're comrades in battle now and have been helping her put an end to Katrina.
Oh sure.Just to be clear 8 AP is not a weekend, one month has 6 AP, so if you work for a month and a half and do nothing else you will finish this with the tools you have available.
Ley line nexuses are known to everyone who bothers to map them. Not secret.Letting little folk and mobsters know where the dragon nest is will probably get us some competition for it. Hire them and some wyldfae; Little Folk work for pizza and possibly board. The station you describe is called Last Station, no one is quite sure how it ended up like this, but I have heard tell that it always looks about twenty years out of date and out of repair, changing as the years pass. I think it might be more in the Nevernever than most places even down here. It's White Court Dregs territory... those of them who break somehow, go mad or just don't have the will to carry on, but he Hunger drives them to do the bare minimum to hunt. They shouldn't be much of a danger, but the tunnels you described, those sound like wyrm holes..."
The wyrm would be Buddhist?
Not sure how we'd protect said building. On the other hand, if it's an occupied one, income from rent after we blow our lottery windfall building a manse, a hellbike, etc., and masquerade considerations would at least minorly inconvenience a significant subset of those who might wish to interfere with it.
I think we need to keep in mind that if we make it, as was demanded, "a place more fit to dwell", that sounds an awful lot like a home. I'm not sure if wyrms get thresholds (I think so, I think anything that calls a place home does, but I'm not sure), but making it a home and not living in it ourselves sounds like a really quick way to lose it to anything that does live there. Especially if we do get it warded, since I'm pretty sure they'd have to be the wyrm's wards rather than ours if they're going to endure on the wyrm's threshold. We still probably want to bring Harry and Bob here, to help with the warding, I think. [...] Maybe have Harry move in there. He could work as a guard for rent.
White Court dregs might not be good workers (I think we would want at least some obedience / allegiance buying charm before we hire them). And HMPed heavy construction equipment should work as improvised guards, especially if we mount some firearms on it. In general, automated turrets with HMP are our best friends for protecting our layer, I think.Hire them and some wyldfae; Little Folk work for pizza and possibly board.
We dont need construction equipment when Molly has Tool Constructs, just guards to help the Wyrm keep the place unmarred when we arent working.
Would still be worth it.Probably gonna be costly to get a house that links to it anyway.
Im thinking at least a couple million, as compared to a tenth of that for a regular house. Gonna need that lottery
We could try at least. And maintain a room for him in case anything happens to his dwelling.Hiring Harry would probably be safe, but I doubt we could get him to move. He's pretty stubborn about his habits and space.
Now I really want to buy False Spring Beckons to get some of those White Court dregs as our minions xDHire them and some wyldfae; Little Folk work for pizza and possibly board.

HMPed turrets. Possibly HMPed laser turrets. All the turrets. And wards. Not sure how we'd protect said building. There are probably enough "good aligned" minor practitioners in Chicago that we could make the house (if it's a multi-apartment complex) exclusive for practitioners. Add in "all the utilities are proofed against techbane" (via HMP) and we'd have a very nice business going. Not sure how we'd protect said building. An excellent idea, although that does kind of ring the dinner bell for all the many things that'd love to have magical snacks or to just gradually eliminate magic from the mortal breeding pool; see also White Night. We'd best be prepared to take on a lot more and a lot subtler opposition a lot quicker if we take that route."all the utilities are proofed against techbane" (via HMP) and we'd have a very nice business going.
We dont need them as workers, we need them as guards to keep troublemakers out. Call them a Station Guard.White Court dregs might not be good workers (I think we would want at least some obedience / allegiance buying charm before we hire them). They may be findable to people who can and do map ley lines, which isn't exactly everyone even if it's most everyone who's considered a true supernatural power, but this is the sort of place that's too much trouble to exploit unless someone else does all the work first.Ley line nexuses are known to everyone who bothers to map them. Not secret.
The Little Folk know where the site is anyway; cant keep the little buggers out of anything.
And Gard is here, so Marcone will know.
White Court vamps lurk in the vicinity as well. And I wont be surprised if we find ghouls as well.
We arent going to be able to keep the refurbishment secret either; there's enough traffic through here that people will notice.
And the place was designed as a train station. Thematically its a transit point.
We start to clean it up, it will draw people.
We will just have to deter any rival claimants by the time-honored precedent of Dibs.
A safe house is a good idea, but I really doubt anything will come out of attempts to get him to move.We could try at least. And maintain a room for him in case anything happens to his dwelling.
Does it? The charm only talks about bakemono/fomori.And the only charm they need is Mercy in Servitude, which is 1 dot/4XP. The Dregs are having trouble with their condition as Whampires, and MiS fixes that as long as they serve. They stop serving, they stop benefitting.
Brainstorm, Gremlin from the wicked city possessing rats to act as Skaven contractors. We'll have to buy a lot of pizza to pay for help in constructing our layer. With a dragon nest to put a nursery in we can turn Undertown into our own personal Skavenblight. It means your fast reproducing spirits will not grow as fast unless you find some way to give them access to more than background levels of magic. Fomori are not a free lunch, them doing magic including birthing magical offspring takes effort from their own reserves. There is a reason the earth does not have as many magical beings as it did in the past.
