Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Unless he's just immune to everything that problem doesn't go away. Laundering energy so it doesn't count at magic is annoying, but not impossible.

If a forced archmage turns the floor to lava in your crimes against humanity cave do you get to tell the ambient heat you're immune because the fire was originally magical? If he waits till you're in your crimes against humanity cave for a party and collapses it on top of you what kind of magic immunity keeps you alive?
Point.

I just think it's a plothole if someone like Ebenezer has old enemies (that he hates enough to actually act against, old dislikes as with the Hellhound make sense).
A Wizard on his level of skill and power can definitely find a way to kill a hated enemy if they take the time and effort.
Only exception being things like the Denarians which are simply impossible to kill by the rules of the setting.

I know Molly is currently the hot news on Supernatural but I was talking more about why don't we already have a Rumor Mill when we have all the elements for one?

Furthermore, even if we are the top news there must still be other movements such as different factions, if another faction is entering which city, if the territory line has changed, etc. Things that we may not act on but that give the feeling of a living world.

It would also help with the complaint that our actions are not changing the world (which has been raised many times) if we could see the world and its inhabitants reacting to our movements instead of it looking like nothing has changed when we return home from our great adventures. .

To be fair, neither Winter nor Summer operate too heavily in the mortal world, ans neither of them want any smoke from Molly so I doubt they're making any moves.

The White Court has a peace treaty with Molly (and I bet Lara is thanking her lucky stars she made one) and are definitely lying low right now. They wouldn't be doing anything that has the chance of reaching Molly's ear, 'cause that way lies death.

The Red Court literally got spanked out of America multiple times in the last month alone: that one noble Molly commandeered, Arianna, the Dragon, etc. I will admit I wish we got more news on how the war's going with the Red Court, but to be fair our main source of info is Dresden, who is very ignorant of the war he sparked. He doesn't even participate in it much compared to the rest of the Wardens lmao.

At the end of the day, Molly wouldn't care about which factions owns which city's supernatural underground. She cares about factions and their existence: are they friends she should help, or enemies she should work to destroy? As a faction-leader, she operates on the same level as the Merlin, not Dresden.

At her level, rumors aren't helpful anymore. Her minions simply don't have access to the kind of information she wants: she'll have to go to actual info brokers, or just ask her Crown, for the kind of secrets that would be worth an on-screen mention.

You are not supposed to be able to ignore the mooks either.
Not in the Dresdenverse. Not in the World of Darkness.
Not in Exalted.

Tracer rounds are metal. So is polonium. A flaming sword is metal and fire.
Magic is usually elemental; Dresden and Luccio, for example, throw fire. There isnt an abstract category of damage thats just labelled magic; it is usually expressed as something elemental and known.

Like I said, you eliminate large categories of potential damage vectors
And actively make the QM's job harder, and limiting our gaming.

Exalted 2E didnt allow you do any such thing; you got your poison negators, shaping negators and mental defenses.
That was it, and only if you were an Exalt or had the right oomph. Immunities werent a thing.
Fire wielded as damage would still hurt you.

And while Im less comfortable with WoD, I dont think they allowed this either.
If you have two or more element attack (metal and fire for tracer rounds) you don't get perfect defense.

Will it fuck up logistics and bureaucracy of any project thats what its aimed at? Hell yes.
Tactical? No. Thats not its intent as written or as intended.

Its a Bureaucracy charm. Not a War or Larceny charm.
Bureaucracy OR project, not bureaucracy OF project. You are literally misreading the text.

Experience said it would have gone ill, but experience had grown into a less reliable guide of late, a thing to worry the king and encourage the wanderer.
Interesting that he differentiates even between different aspects of the same divine mantle.

Odin has really been wearing a lot of different hats for a damn long time, that leaves marks it seems.

Is there a reason we aren't having Lash raise Stamina in the currently winning plan, or is it because that costs XP?

Also, wouldn't ETE be a better choice to kneecap organisational efforts against us (or maybe even Denarians, if that doesn't break balance), or is that too expensive/onerous trigger conditions?

We can get Tiffany to upgrade us, no XP cost, even without voting here. It's just a matter of preference I think.

Also, we have Calling the Calibration Gate and the Crown of Eyes. Even without the ability to summon nukes, we can still kneecap organizational efforts against Molly by linking one end of the gate to their HQ and the other end to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Not as effective against the Denarians who don't have a home base, but Molly could easily scry and fry drown all the Lords of Outer Night and the Red King, so long as they aren't living anywhere too close to a city.

(Assuming it works like that, of course. It's also possible we're limited to chucking bombs through the Gate, which would be understandable but in that case we'll have to request some nukes from the US government instead of handling it ourselves)

Why would we want Emergency Minion Hologram right now? It seems neat, but also something of an Essence hog to use to any significant degree, and in the situations where it could be most useful, we'll also have more important things to spend our Essence on.

I also don't really get your priorities for Lydia's XP spending here. She's just going to fall further behind if we ignore her combat aspects entirely.

Echoing what @quantum lurker asked, why isn't Lash also raising everyone else's Stamina?

That's a nuclear option though, and it's apples to oranges when comparing to "suddenly, nothing goes your way for one project"?

Edit: Also, why not "suddenly your place links to the Sun or a Black Hole for 3 minutes" if we are going for destructive potential?

We are hitting e4 this month, which makes EMH much more versatile (remember, it's specifically not limited to human minions), and synergetic with digital possessions management. For Lydia - Wits excellency for counterspelling, spirit couterspelljng b3cause she deals with spirits as her main specialization and autonomic action, akashic root methodology to give her something like the Crown of Eyes, and to use in finding her the magical dog this month, specifically one connected to her mythos. The boosts for her are going to be Lash boosts, splendor weapons, a magic spirit dog, and possibly an APC or some other tricked out vehicle.

Lash raising everyone's stamina is an AP, not an xp spending. She can upgrade herself, that was ruled for, but others take not just her own, but our time as well, which is an AP spending. I am planning on doing the boosts this turn.

Why would we need to borrow nuclear bombs? Our world already has our equivalent of balefire, at most we would just need to order a version with x20 or x50 the current size.

That's a nuclear option though, and it's apples to oranges when comparing to "suddenly, nothing goes your way for one project"?

Edit: Also, why not "suddenly your place links to the Sun or a Black Hole for 3 minutes" if we are going for destructive potential?
Because we'd like for people to keep living on the same planet. ;)

Also because we need to be on one side of where the gate is invoked.

Our world probably doesn't have nukes, at least not big ones.

Since, you know, it has .only 5 cities and nuking any of them would have been beyond imagining even before the unification.

Not that I want to disparage the use of a nice big Balefire explosion, but those are probably of tactical size, to be used against a Kaiju-sized foe, or a flank of an enemy army, or to destroy a specific fortification. Not strategic

But yeah, the biggest news in the supernatural world currently is that Molly Carpenter just stabbed Mikaboshi in the kidney,
For our next trick I want to make red court brand blood pudding. They've gotten off way too lightly and could use a large dose of fire.
You are not supposed to be able to ignore the mooks either.
Not in the Dresdenverse. Not in the World of Darkness.
Not in Exalted.
The system specifically allows for this. It isn't hidden, it provides rules for multiple interactions and everything. We've even built stuff that does this already, why is this only a problem now?

But is that why I said we just need to ask them to make it bigger...? We have the technology but never the need for a larger size, so construction would be faster and it would also be much easier than convincing any country to give one of their nuclear weapons to us.

Funny but CCG is a door not a portal. We can't make it go wherever we want just to what's on the otherside or linked. So apparently we could use it to go to Heaven but we'd need to do it from.. a church? Would probably need a historical location from the bible.

Just making something like a nuke bigger is actually pretty complicated. What said, Molly's position as a spirit monarch means she can potentially sweet talk the balefire elementals into cooperating more.

We probably can't go as far as making nukes that will only effect certain targets in an area, but getting them to share space is less of an ask.
