I know Molly is currently the hot news on Supernatural but I was talking more about why don't we already have a Rumor Mill when we have all the elements for one?
Furthermore, even if we are the top news there must still be other movements such as different factions, if another faction is entering which city, if the territory line has changed, etc. Things that we may not act on but that give the feeling of a living world.
It would also help with the complaint that our actions are not changing the world (which has been raised many times) if we could see the world and its inhabitants reacting to our movements instead of it looking like nothing has changed when we return home from our great adventures. .
To be fair, neither Winter nor Summer operate too heavily in the mortal world, ans neither of them want any smoke from Molly so I doubt they're making any moves.
The White Court has a peace treaty with Molly (and I bet Lara is thanking her lucky stars she made one) and are definitely lying low right now. They wouldn't be doing
anything that has the chance of reaching Molly's ear, 'cause that way lies death.
The Red Court literally got spanked out of America multiple times in the last month alone: that one noble Molly commandeered, Arianna, the Dragon, etc. I will admit I wish we got more news on how the war's going with the Red Court, but to be fair our main source of info is Dresden, who is very ignorant of the war he sparked. He doesn't even participate in it much compared to the rest of the Wardens lmao.
At the end of the day, Molly wouldn't care about which factions owns which city's supernatural underground. She cares about factions and their existence: are they friends she should help, or enemies she should work to destroy? As a faction-leader, she operates on the same level as the Merlin, not Dresden.
At her level, rumors aren't helpful anymore. Her minions simply don't have access to the kind of information she wants: she'll have to go to actual info brokers, or just ask her Crown, for the kind of secrets that would be worth an on-screen mention.
