Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] The Bridges of the Spirit, continue your training with Brother Divsimar not in the ways of the spirit but the mind, the Bridge of Dreams

The birth is due soon, I want to do a short one before that.

I really hate to do this, and seriously, I do hate to do this, but

[X] Go to Vegas, you feel like kicking the shit out of Nemesis' friends to make yourself feel better

Hit hard, hit fast, keep hitting without letting the enemy regain their senses. We just finished punching Nemesis. Hit him while he's unbalanced.

OOC I very much am down for Bridges of Spirit or anything else relatively low stakes, but IC any day we aren't rushing to Vegas is a day Nemesis get to prepare for us. And Breaking out whatever eldrich monster is contained there sounds just like a plan to break masquerade. Have it eat Las Vegas on live TV. Possibly hook it to nuclear testing to boost his ecological patsies.

[X] Higher Education: According to Od... that is Donar Vadderung Cambridge Massachusetts is in in a power void at the moment, one that given the power and influence certain factions of the unseen world could acquire by getting their hooks into the students early could be a lot of trouble down the road. On the other hand that very fact could be of great use to you. Check it out, see if you can establish a presence there. After all it is quite close by water.

If Vegas takes more than 3 days we have to interrupt it for the birth.

Better to have it all in one go.

True, but what's the scenario under which it takes more than 3 days? And the same argument is applicable to training, which is likely to be the most IC time-consuming activity.

Anyway, ok, hoping that this is more of a meta-vote, i.e. conditions in Vegas won't meaningfully change in the next couple of days,

Normally I would agree that it's like a meta thing but we know Sandra is a single Nemesis person who is hiding in Vegas the fact that there is a Outsider there that can be unsealed is part of why she's there but she's hiding using the influence of the sin eater and the red vampire. Making any significant moves towards the outsider in the area attracts the attention of all parties winter us the sin eater and the red vampire. The fact of the matter she's only there so she can hide from Winter if she makes any moves she immediately reveals herself to the factions that may not be aware that they're being used to hide her.

Looked over Tiffany's character sheet, and the Lore of Flesh is seriously powerful. Also, Denariens are an Enemy 4. Makes sense, but ouch. They are definitely going to cause problems.

That primordial sub souls are a serious contender in those situations that actually did kill essence 1-5 exalts by the circle is just a sign of how bullshit they are.

The guys who made creation weren't pushovers, that's what makes the exalted's victory so amazing even for them.
In contrast: Newly exalted Essence 2 exalts got thrown right into Primordial-scale combat for the entirety of the Primordial War. And they died, yes, they died in droves, but even brand-new baby Solaroids gave better than they got, killed more than they died, endured more than they broke, because they wouldn't have won otherwise. They were a deadly serious threat, not safe but on average they were more dangerous and in less danger than the Primordials and Primordial subsouls they faced, right out of the box.

The guys who made creation weren't pushovers, that's what makes Autocthon's achievement in crafting the Exaltations amazing even for him.

I expect the few who survived racked up XP like never seen before or since.

No the Solaroids absolutely died more than they killed, but they had respawning.

The XP was definitely rolling in like crazy, yeah, but iirc they didn't survive- I don't remember where, and don't have to time to try and track down the reference, but I'm 90% sure that nobody- no Exalt, at least- survived the entire Primordial War, and 60% sure none of them even survived enough of it to hit Elder Essence (E6+). The really crazy upper-tier shenanigans didn't start til the Exalted Host had the time to start raiding the Wyld and beating up rakshasa for fun and profit.

The Primordial War was a mad, bloody, brutal affair from start to finish.

I don't believe the math on that works out because in that point celestials were being trained by the Gods and supplied by the Jade folk with weapons. If celestials were just dying by the thousands during the war eventually candidates that could take up the swords would run out.
Also they definitely killed more than they died if for no reason then the sheer numbers involved. Two primordials get their shit absolutely fucked up pretty much immediately into the war Adrian the river of torments and the lidless eye that sees which means the kill count of the exalted goes immediately from anywhere in the hundreds range to possibly billions depending on how many first second and third circle Souls got destroyed during that reformatting. Then multiply that by 13 for the neverborn except we know all of those Souls actually just flat out died so by the end of the primordial War unless the entire population of mankind measured in the billions in that age the celestials definitely killed hundreds of millions of more demons than they ever possibly could have been killed by.

I'm up for kicking Nemesis while it's down. Also as a Asian Tiger Parenting survivor I cannot ever in good consciousness actively vote for going to HAAVARRRDD. :V (down for reading it though)

We could spend some time getting the lay of the land, meeting the local powers.
New setting, for the first time in a while.

If we don't just rush in to bonk Sandra over the head this will take time.

We've been spending an awful lot of Willpower lately.

I think it would be better to talk to Brother Divsimar after this experience.
