Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Looking around the soul-investments in EXvsWoD, they are really very good for us, even though I'm totally against ever using them for story-reasons.

Molly would have easily 90 soul-points to sell and most of the Signs that come with are completly in theme with our regular Exalted looks, since we are already using the powers of hell anyway.

It's a funny thought-experiment, to make Molly much better with very few drawbacks by selling less than half of her soul.
But a thought-experiment it will stay.

Actually I have no clue how it interacts with this setting.

Since apparently souls regenerate in Dresden. Since soulfire literally burns your soul for fuel and then you just live and wait until it comes back.
Being that we are sane people we are using the Dark Ages crafting. You can do some crafting outside of your specialization and being that you are Exalted with the excellencies that involves 'some crafting' still means a high standard of professional work.
Not greatly superhuman in all aspects of Craft by using excellency?

Craft is the meme ability again.

Maybe we should've kept Technology as Key instead, or gotten Athletics.

Souls regenerate if you burn pieces, or throw them to the winds to be destroyed, not if you hand them to someone else since then the piece still exists, it is just not in your possession.

Infernalism is not damaging your soul, just selling it.

You can still give someone power over yourself by Dresden-rules.

I imagine its just because something having parts of your soul is literally Perfect for any contagion stuff like 99% of ritual magic or calling True Names.

So you'd have your original amount of soul in your body, just also have backdoor.

Isn't this how canon Akumas are created in 2.5? The Yozi gain an access to your body whenever they wanted to.

God Help us when the vote comes deciding what sort of Specialization do we have.

Also, what does things outside our Crafting Speciality do mechanically? Is it like full Craft Ability for our Specialization and -1 Craft Dot for everything else?

Intimidate (Creatures of Darkness)
Big brain, POG.

Hmm, Athletics (Mighty Limbs) is a classic.

Subterfuge (Persuasive) is also a good one.

Brawl (Martial Art) if we're able to be taught by a Sidereal using a Sidereal Martial Art for that Citrine Poxes or Sapphire Veil.
How hard is it to gain additional specialties?
Usually spending EXP do the trick. It's not as expensive as Abilities, so it is easy to get.

It says that it is 0 for crafts outside of your specialization and +1 to DC. I am going to call it -1 to Dice for related fields, like if you choose blacksmithing jewelry is related and so is auto-repairs but tailoring is not. For non-related skills -2 dice. Which means that the very worst you can roll at crafting with excellency is... 10 dice. You are still a professional thanks to your hellish cheating

Ahhh, so if we use Craft in accordance to our Speciality we would retain our full Dice pool.

With rolls relating our Speciality, it is done at -1 Craft Dot. And for something totally unrelated it's -2 Craft Dot.

That's fine. I mean, it could be worse. DP could've addedd a +1 to Difficulty each time it goes against our Speciality.

@DragonParadox I presume that this ruling is also applicable to Performance and Academics, yes? Due to how similar they are worded with Craft.

I do not want to force you guys to drop a lot of XP into specific branches of crafting, that does not sound very exciting. I figure -2 dice should be enough to keep you from going all in on artisanal basket-weaving when your skill is in sculpture, but if you really need a basket for a mission you can make a good one by most standards.

Hmm, 3-Dot in an Ability is basically a Profesional-level quality put into a work.

So if we were to reach Craft 5, then even if it's a totally unrelated Ability, we will still be Crafting with professional-grade skill (5 - 2 = 3).

Just for the sake of grounding the discussion a little, if we did get the tool charm what would we be looking at for our first few projects?

Better clothing and some subtle under clothing armor? Cooking up bribes for little folk? Maybe some magic related stuff sometime after the next buy point?

I want some more flexibility than a pure bruiser has, but all the discussion on crafting has muddied the waters for me on what exactly we can or should try to do with it in the immediate term.

I wish I had both A) been around for character creation and B) known what a PITA it would be to deal with Crafting. Those points would have been better spent on Stealth or Larceny, and thinking about it, either one would have been more fitting for Molly up to this point.

@DragonParadox would occult(non-Euclidean geometry) work? For making things that are bigger on the inside or something where you can exit you house in Europe but the door is linked to one in America.
