Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

1)The elder one is not a vampire.

2)Assuming they are a vampire and you kill them?
What are you going to do with the dead body of a Whampire in the home of an FBI agent? One you killed with a sword?
An FBI agent you are going to need to call 911 for on account of a suicide attempt?

Bodies dont just vanish.
Tool Trancending Constructs?

We can remove stains, I believe even big ones.
Wrost case we have to spend even more Essence to burn the corpse to fine dust with Green Sun Nimbus Flare, but as long as we have some time to work I see no unsolvable problem.

[X] Write-in: "I'll give you one chance, vampire. Step away from the woman and leave."
-[X] If accepted, let them go and try to save the woman.
-[X] If refused, or they went back against their word and try to stab you in the back, kill the vampires.
-[X] Go for the old one first, the younger might be salvagable. Activate Steel Skin. Be ready to use IPM the second the Whampires try anything funny with their mind-tricks.
-[X] (Stunt) You do not hesitate a moment, even as you feel your skin harden and take a brazen sheen you are already breaking through the window, the edges of shattered glass scraping harmlessly against your skin. Your sword is in your hand without thought or effort and you see the first hint of terror slowly form on the old monster's face as you close in for the first blow.

The BIG question is: Why the hell aren't they reacting to DPE? The teenager, ok, they might be mortal still. The mentor? This implies things. This might be someone major.
Remember that when we get to meet the Red court vampire he didnt react as well until we talked to him directly. Maybe we need to talk to him first

Doesnt work.
We have a woman who needs immediate medical care.
We cannot administer emergency medical care and attempt to sanitize a crime scene.

And you can be sure that a fight will get loud. Even if we dont call 911 immediately, neighbors will.
Or worse, show up to check.
No, fights here are a last resort.

Then it isnt a White Court vampire.

Which is potentially much worse.

Only Raiths are good looking, the others are just normal looking.

Those of House Raith are sexual predators, using their supernatural good looks and psychic aura to attract both men and women. During intercourse, or any direct physical contact where emotions like lust are heightened, they feed off their prey - specifically, off the intimacy. Victims of the feedings of House Raith grow to enjoy the experience and become bonded to their predator, not unlike a drug addiction

Oh yeah. Just checked the char sheet. Molly got a full five in melee and occult.

Why the hell did we do a lot of talking then?
Because talking usually leads to less complications and greater victories.

[X] Try to command the vampires to stop and open the door for you
-[x] Stunt "Congratulations. You are one of the lucky that get the choice to decide not to be a monster anymore. So long as you work for me your hunger will not trouble you.". Take our blazing sword "Or you can decide to remain monsters reap the obvious conclusion."
-[x]"Now your first task of your new life is to help me track down and deal with Green's killer and help your formor victim gain closure."
-[x]if they don't accept the offer kill them the other votes give plenty of options.

Uh, @uju32, I think the older one is a vampire.
Also, isn't the only reason we were so worried is because one of the windows was wide open? Why do all the stunts have us breaking glass?
Maybe the QM forgot something.
But as written, that isnt a bogstandard White.
Could be a Black. Maybe.

This is White Night introducing Lady Malvora in the Raith Deeps:
White Night c37 said:
"Empty night," Madrigal swore, in English, his eyes wide. "This isn't happening."
I showed him my teeth and replied quietly in the same tongue. "Time to pay the piper, prick."
Vitto Malvora turned his head to look over his shoulder at a tiny woman no more than five feet tall, dressed in a white gown more like a toga than anything else. She was curved like the Greek goddesses the gown made her resemble. Her face was a stark, frozen mask.
She turned eyes the color of chrome toward me and wine-dark lips peeled back from very white teeth.
The woman is hundreds, if not thousands of years old.
She is still pretty stunning.
Thats much the same for every White we see. They are all good looking; its not just a Raith thing.

The Skavis heir passed as a good looking woman iirc.

See above.

She isn't physically hurt. No blood just wine likely from her dropping the bottle. These vampires feed on despair not fear or pain. She is likely in a depressed fog at the moment.
I quote:
There's a woman collapsed on the couch, a bottle lying in shards at her feet, red wine slowly leeching into the carpet among a scattering of pills and is he not alone. Sitting brazenly on the coffee table is a dark haired teenager in a faded once-black t-shirt ladder slashed jeans and too large-biker boots, a look of ravenous rapture on her face. White Court, you recognize her at once, but not pari, not a devouter of desire but of despair.
She has been dosed with wine and either sleeping pills or some other medication. Suicide attempt.
She is going to die or be crippled without emergency medical care.

The teenager is because they didn't even see us.

The old one... depends on if the effect begins when we talk to them or not.

Then it isnt a White Court vampire.
Which is potentially much worse.

Molly demonstrated the ability to identify white courts on sight several times, she is not telling that he isn't one but that he is a Vampire in the same way as the teenager that very much is a white court, the old guy is a White court Vampire, you're complicating things.

A walkin freezer is absolutely going to stop a mortal, but it isnt really armored against physical intrusion from a superhuman character. I still remember the one I visited and its flexing walls.
Empty containers are even worse; a 40-foot container weighs around 3.7 tons empty and its walls are less than half an inch thick.

Get a quote for a walkin freezer. One with the floor space for all the work we actually want to do.
Now get the relevant permits to fit a commercial-grade walkin freezer into this place, and the justifications thereof.
And then all of a sudden you find out that zoning regulations are relevant.

Chicago is a major city. There's all sorts of rules about what you can do in places.

This is a setting where the opposition has used chemical weapons, bombs, arson and magically empowered fortification crackers.
I am in no hurry to lock ourselves in somewhere we can afford to emplace defenses or defenders.
And especially not in a civilian residential area
First, this is paranoia. Second, this is what wards are for. And yes, any facility of ours should be warded to high heaven.
Why?
Distance is not an issue; they are in the same city. Duplicating facilities just raises setup costs.
And its not like we can use both locations at the same time.
Logistics. I will throw your question back at you: how are you getting a car down into Last Station to work on it? What about anything larger, like a mini-submarine or a helicopter in case we ever work on something large?
Hell, I fully expect your bogstandard Denarian would shrug off that sort of curse; when you have a Fallen Angel backing you, thats a lot of metaphysical heft. If the Archive didnt simply countercurse the Denarians to death after Small Favor, if Mab didnt curse the Denarians after Arctis Tor and Small Favor, we arent likely to have the metaphysical heft to do so.
Impervious Primacy Mantle laughs off unrestricted archangel's full efforts. That's E3. Same as ETE, actually (it's 3 dots, not 2). Exaltations are rather good at absolute effects and hitting above their weight. Were designed to be such, after all. And yes, primacy of defense, but still.
She isn't physically hurt. No blood just wine.
Pills with the wine suggest suicide attempt.

[X] Try to command the vampires to stop and open the door for you
-[X] intimidation excellency
-[X] Tool transcending Constructs to administer aid.
-[X] STUNT: "Step away from her, open the door, so I don't need to bother breaking it, and stay very still and quiet, vampire. I will have questions for you, after I am done with her. Depending on your answers, you may be allowed to live" you say, your voice projecting beyond normality, as a sudden blast of winter's chill permeates the house.

Not sure about the stunt, but yes, we need to question them. And these are killers, those who feed on despair. Intimidation is something we should be staring with. Everything else comes later. We are best suited to roll them over with "oh sh*t, sudden demon lord" tactic.

@DragonParadox is the neighborhood bad enough to trigger TLF? We are set on protecting the woman, after all.

*checks again*
The post says he's a vampire.
It specifically identifies the girl as White Court. But not the dude.
Something is way off here.

Molly has only ever met two Whampires before now anyway: Thomas, and Lara's assistant.

Lets be clear: We've seen Lord Raith onscreen in canon.
He's four thousand years old. He hasnt fed since the 1970s, since Dresden's mother hit him with her deathcurse.
He looks healthier than this dude's description.

Something is way off.

You are comparing the King of the White court with an old mook, of course he will appear more impresive.

Its talking, remember that Red court who was spying us?? He only reacted when we talked to him.

Almost certain, but the next update will probably gives us the confirmation, I know voters well enough to know that we will talk, hell, even I am on the fence to vote for it.

To add to that idea: The ennemies they were made to kill were more powerful than the denarians, and yet even the terrestrial exalts were expected to be able to do it quickly.

Molly has only ever met two Whampires before now anyway: Thomas, and Lara's assistant.

And she identified them both on sight.

You are jumping at shadows, the sentence is very clearly structured in a way that tells that both are exactly the same kind of Vampire, it says *This too is a vampire*, absolutely no indications that he is a different kind, despite Molly already knowing about the other courts, and having met Red courts, and Lord Raith is, as the name implies, a RAITH, not a good indication for the normal aging or average non Raith Whampire.
