Themis always knows :V

even if Oliver is it

He really isn't.

Oliver used some sort of Order spell from Themis to block damage.

He really didn't. In fact, I'm going to be nice here and tell it, though, the spoilered 'battle' data should have explained it already : Oliver didn't use any spell to block Martha's damage. He just stood there and took the beating while trying to explain why he punched his boss in the head as he was about to touch on the details of sacrificial magic. He really took 135 damage and walked it off as if it was nothing.

All this mindgames make my head hurt.

I understand Harry a lot more now - go YOLO, charge in, murder someone and see what happens.

P.S. I'm serious here. I think it's a bit too much info and too fast. Several Homm factions were nice. A Goddess playing her game was nice. Several other gods was a bit of a stretch, but invistext arguing Gods (and all the implications) are way too much. They don't even feel like Gods anymore - merely powefull humans. No mystery, no secresy, no symbolysm.

They are just powerful humans. They all used to be wizards/witches and ascended.
Before anyone asks, yes, gods are in fact obscenely powerful wizards who became immortal that live in a parallel dimension to the one the Quest takes place in. Except that's a mouthful, so I'm calling them gods.

Lately has also nearly been trampled by a unicorn herd but finally got them to allow Essie to get a poney, it's very golden and fluffy with a cute little horn on its forehead. Spoiler, on his pain ranking, an enraged unicorn herd hurts a lot more than Martha. :V

Mission accomplished.

-[X] Slug Club : The return.
Horace Slughorn, retired Hogwarts teacher and famous potionneer finally got out of his self imposed exile by inviting anyone of skill to a party. Having had bad experiences about those in the past, Dace did some investigation and, to his surprise, he learned that while the undead tried to get to the man, a few mislabelled potions vial made it so they all died in a fire before they could get to him.
-[X]Organize the Wedding: Advertising and invitations. Martha agreed to a lavish wedding, and that people she didn't know would see her get married. In fact, she almost looked proud of it, considering how possessive she 's been of you lately.
--[X]Tea with Slughorn: + 3 RP

For once, Dace could indulge in public drinking without anybody judging him for it. He was, if not enjoying it, at least content. People were buzzing all around the room and at its center, Horace Slughorn was sitting completely at ease.

Or at least it was what he was trying to project, Martha whispered to him. Now that he knew what to look for, the man had indeed lost weight and looked paler, though a quick detection spell revealed that that pallor wasn't due to magic.

Still, it was good manners to come and greet the host of the party and as he began moving, he felt Martha's arms coil around his. He looked ar her a bit and he nodded appreciatively. Her hair was pulled up into a sleek looking bun held up by bejeweled pins while her dress robes were cut in order to show off her impressive cleavage while remaining on the tasteful side of fashion.

The young woman almost preened under Dace's attention as they walked towards Horace, who looked up away from his current discussion partner, Amos Diggory, and immediately noticed him.

"Dace, my lad! I haven't seen you in years!" He got up and signalled him to come here." Come here, come here." Dace did, while the retired potions professor made a show of looking him up and down. "The potions regimen did wonders on you, look at you! Not even a wrinkle, this must help with the ladies." He wagged his eyebrows while looking at Martha who raised a hand to her mouth and giggled.

He had to think for a second, because Martha never giggled. The closest she ever got was when she had that strange laugh when dealing with letters from his admirers.

Dace looked around, people were looking at them. It seemed she was doing it for the gallery's sake.

"Indeed." He put on expression number 4 , the 'warm smile.'

The still portly older man then told them to follow him and raised his wand, clearing his voice and getting once more the attention of the crowds.

"If you will excuse me, my dear guests, I have a bit of a present for our soon to be newlyweds. However, it requires some secrecy, so I hope you'll forget me for absconding with them for a few minutes. Don't worry though, there's more than enough food and conversation to be had here!" He jested, causing the guests to titter as he turned around with a flamboyant flutter from his cloak and led Dace and Martha to another room.

As he closed the door and leaned against it, his eyes critically scanned Dace.

"When was the last time you had a check up?" He asked, looking a bit more somber than usual, leading the younger man to raise an eyebrow.

"It will be seven years next month." He answered, having a bad feeling where the conversation was going. Slughorn nodded and waved his wand, very illegal spells coming right out of his mouth, gausing Dace's body to tingle uncomfortably, before purple spots began to shine over his body, causing the older man's frown of concentration to deepen.

"I see, this is why you would resort to use a homunculus as heir." Evaluating brown eyes peeked at Dace from underneath bushy eyebrows. " The most optimistic estimates are your body breaking down in ten years."

Dace tried to ignore the crushing grip around his arm as Slughorn continued.

"Such a waste. First your mother, then that incident at the meeting, miss Evans, and now you..." He looked conflicted over something, before shaking his head and flipping a galleon. It fell on the heads side. "It would be a shame if I was the only potionner left." He put back his galleon in his pocket, before helping himself to a glass of alcoholic beverage. "Oh well, if I'm going to get involved anyway, might as well be with the one I can talk shop to." He gave a dramatic shrug before downing the glass.

-[X]Why is the land dying? Dace has an inkling of an idea, but he doesn't knows the details behind what is happening in Cornwall, nor the effects it would have, only that it is important for the enemy.
82 + 65 (Acquisition) + 10 (previous decision) = 157 : Tier 2 Success

It took Dace hours of research and cross referencing to understand what was happening. The land of the dead was a plague. It absorbed magic and used it to fuel its expansion, and since it belonged to another, more powerful system of magic, it couldn't be stopped by regular wizardry.

Its effects were already well known, however those were when the land was already infected. Now he knew of the spread and unless he started expanding right now or Dumbledore got his hands on the means to sanctify the ground, his estimates was not promising.

Requires Rampart step 1 to be complete to be built : One building of the kind may be built per turn.)
--[X] Homestead: Produces 7 elves / turn.

Of course, now knowing what he knew, Dace decided to hurry the construction of some security buildings, and some housing for the numerous elfes he bought. Especially since this way, he could have them be in charge of security.

Genius, really.

Though, getting them to stop fighting to be the one to clean the place will be another problem entirely.

-[X] Spend time with one of your SLs: +2 RP
--[X] Brunch with Lucius : +3 RP

It was going to be one of those days, huh. Mused Dace, laying back on the floor of Lucius' living room, looking at the sky through the destroyed windows.

To be fair, it was pretty obvious the blond man didn't expect a Death Eater group to raid his house and abduct him.

Still, this was pretty inconvenient.

Princess P- Lucius has been abducted! What will Dace do?

[] Save him (will get option to select troops and resources)
[] Let him save himself. He's pretty resourceful. (Things continue on as usual.)

Wheee, you had a year of downtime, now it's time for the trainwreck to resume!

Ugh, poor contrast.

There were three of them, their lower bodies looking like a bolden brown snake, slithering around the decorations of the roofs. At the bottom of the building laid broken pieces of statues looking extremely lifelike.

He didn't need to see under their hoods to understand what they were. Gorgons. And Queen type, at that.
But whatever will we call the Gorgons of the Mighty Bull variety? Sturdy, snorts acid, t5 Fortress unit and might attract its natural predator: the Rust Dragon.

Incidentally, does the Cae Coch Sulphur Mine have a magical section?
But. Yes. Let's make him a research. We need someone outside the gods control to get some not repitile units.
Fortress t2 is useful for being a ranged unit, whereas T3 is pretty versatile. T4 and T5 are pretty powerful fighters. T6 is absolutely devastating to archers but has a giant "kill me" sign and T7 is underwhelming if you don't use it right.

Though Elves are T3 and Druids T4 so... yeah, Fortress seems kinda meh. Especially since Rampart T5 and Fortress T5 are both tanks with except Rampart actually has CC.

Once again, there's gonna be a complete overhaul of the information section once the rampart gets created and I can finally call the prologue finished . All the others follow H4.
Save for Riddle, because He's got the Elder wand, so he's got them all.
which is why you'd do well to keep him out of fights if you want him alive, and I offered the option to act on the rumor mill as a compensation.
Like this one?
Funny thing about item sets. Yes it was the true one, freshly stolen from Potter. You should be able to know the how he got it. As for the the set item bonus: It nullifies instakills.
Combination Artefacts too OP. We need to gather the rest of the components for Power of the Dragon Father so Chibi can forge it for herself.

In Homm3, Heroes can only stay in the back and fling spells. However, if the army is defeated, so is the hero. In Homm4, the hero can act in the battlefield, still cast spells, but as a unit he's much stronger than your usual, even at level 1, and the difference in power only scales up with the levels. Also, the skills are completely different, with Homm4 skills being much more powerful on average. The closest you currently have as a comparison is Martha and Dace:

Martha has 5 skill 'lines', each containing 4 slots. That's an effective 20 slots available. Martha's Leadership skill gives +1 Morale/luck at level 1 and can grow up to level 5, with +5/+5
Dace only has 8 in total. Dace's luck skill can only grow up to level 3 and give 3 luck.
However, that is not to say Homm3 heroes are useless. If you decide to level up, let's say, air magic, any single target air magic spell casted is automatically applied to all of the army, while Homm4 heroes can't do that. H3 heroes also have access to mana cost reduction and the likes all bundled up in a specific school of magic.
Would his Resistance skill affect just himself as if it were a HoM4 secondary or would it work like the HoMM3 skill?

Level-up fluff seems to imply a personal scope but if it's the latter and army killers count individual units as their own stack...

[X]Yes
[X] Save him (will get option to select troops and resources)

Lets save our man.

Easy options this time around. I don't think we should send Dace out this time. Just our heroes instead. Dace, as per usual has proven that conflicts has a tendency to give him the opportunity to study the ground, or the ceiling.

Nice to know we are one of the best potioners in Britain due to any sort of competition being wiped out.

Did we get any Sl perks from Slughorn?

Oh hoh, a connoisseur I see. As a matter of fact, they're called Amazonian Swamp Bulls.

Fortress t2 is useful for being a ranged unit, whereas T3 is pretty versatile. T4 and T5 are pretty powerful fighters. T6 is absolutely devastating to archers but has a giant "kill me" sign and T7 is underwhelming if you don't use it right.

Fortress stats are a bit under the average, however, once you grail, it's almost impossible to beat them in their home base.

No direct Resource-to-Resource exchange?

I suck at maths, therefore I keep it simple.

Thos one doesn't even count. Like, I'm more subtle than that for the important stuff, good catch though.

Combination Artefacts too OP.

Yeah. Would you believe the Golden goose, Statue of the legion and Elixir of Life have already been assembled?

We need to gather the rest of the components for Power of the Dragon Father so Chibi can forge it for herself.

Yeah, if only someone had a very convenient ability to sniff out magical items and finally built the building giving the option to leverage their outrageously high crafting skill...

Would his Resistance skill affect just himself as if it were a HoM4 secondary or would it work like the HoMM3 skill?

He's H3, it affects everything.

Yes.

Easy options this time around.

After what I've put you through recently, I'm gonna keep it binary for a while so that you can have a breather.

Did we get any Sl perks from Slughorn?

SL3 for perks. You've climbed to SL2

For those who for some reason think we shouldn't take Slughorn as an advisor. My counter argument is simply.

Every action point counts and with him here we are a step closer to survive the heartbreak. Maybe not cure it, but survive.

He also has the rare charistic of actually liking us. So his independent action will hopefully be geared towards helping us survive the heartbreak.

[X]Yes
[X] Save him (will get option to select troops and resources)

Slughorn's expensive but 2 more Actions is totally worth it. And we might need him to stop Dace from dying of heart break.
Saving Lucius is, again, an obvious choice.
Yeah, if only someone had a very convenient ability to sniff out magical items and finally built the building giving the option to leverage their outrageously high crafting skill...
We are building the workshop next turn guys.

Agreed, we need to build up some power.
Unlimited POWER
Sadly, we only have 1 stewardship action and we also have to worry about this.
Now he knew of the spread and unless he started expanding right now or Dumbledore got his hands on the means to sanctify the ground, his estimates was not promising.
Since it's Fumbledore, it's going to be up to us to save Wales (and the rest of the British Isles too I suppose). Which also requires this stewardship action.
[] Real estate hunt : Riddle already two places directly under his control now. See if you can't even the numbers. Though, first, you'd have to find suitable spots...
Cost : 0 Galleons. 40 / 20 / 10% Chances of success.

We're the ones that put him at odds with Voldy's Death Eaters and now we can rescue him from them. Someone (Aife probably) will think we planned this all out.:V

Getting a base is a must at this point. Another base would generate more wealth I think.

I also want to send Dace on an adventure/ trolling journey to build more SL and perhaps luck out and get an artifact.

Slughorn for SL next turn to gain the bonus.

Sort of want to use the other intrigue on the mugles, because shits happening in their world to, and I dont want to be completely blindsided by them.

I'd hazard a guess and say the Golden Goose and Elixir of Life have been combined in turn into the Philosopher's stone?

Though unless Riddle has the Statue of the Legion, it sounds like one of the few things that can give a faction a chance against him.
Yeah, if only someone had a very convenient ability to sniff out magical items and finally built the building giving the option to leverage their outrageously high crafting skill...
Still Eye of the dragon +1 Troops Morale, +1 Troops Luck (Value: 2000 G)
Quiet eye of the dragon +5 Troops attack damage, +5 Troops attack defense (Value: 2000 G)
...So for any players wondering what Power of the Dragon Father does, Quiet eye of the Dragon and Still Eye of the Dragon are components of it. The former, in Homm3 terms gives +1 Attack and Defense to the Hero and the latter's bonuses are exactly the same as in this quest.

The components for Power of the Dragon Father give a combined +10 Attack, +10 Defense, +10 Power, +10 Knowledge, +1 Luck and +1 Morale.
The Set Bonus adds another +6 to Attack/Defense/Power/Knowledge for a combined +16 to all 4 stats(which would translate to +80 Troops attack damage and +80 Troops attack defense), enough Mana to last several rounds(instead of being a one-hit wonder) and makes all units in the army immune to spells of levels 1/2/3/4. Which is the same spell immunity as a Gold Dragon.

He's H3, it affects everything.

Yes.
Right.

Next time we get the opportunity for Resistance on Dace? I propose we take it.
Basic is a 5% chance to no-sell any spell. Including army killers. Expert goes up to 20%. IIRC this is additive with natural spell resistance(such as the Rampart t2 unit, Dwarves. Which have their own resistance ratings of 20-40% depending on whether or not they're upgraded).

This means a saving throw against army killers for all our characters(and all other spells) and a fraction of our army surviving enemy army killers(probably done by law of average, possibly with a roll for standard deviation).

I'd hazard a guess and say the Golden Goose and Elixir of Life have been combined in turn into the Philosopher's stone?

Nah, they were not, for a simple reason. They went to different people. Well, it's already been revealed in the discord for the quest anyways, but since I hate repeating myself, I'm lifting the 'no talkie' rule and will leave them to explain if they feel like it.

Well since you've given permission....
Steps became closer and closer to him and his cover was torn off, leaving him face to hood with the man. The figure then raised the very same crystal he came for, before waving him under his nose before putting it back in the pouch at his waist, making Dace blink in incomprehension as the man's figure retreated away.

Yes, 2.5 million Galleons each turn.

So we go to get a minor important item, but somehow ended up in a battle royal for a major artifact. A battle we lost without knowing its stakes, and we didn't get our minor items either.

Yep. Like in horror films, separating in the midst of a battle when you have no army and no knowledge of what's happening is a bad idea.
