New version of the plan is up, together with an explanation. This is a draft so things can be edited out.

I chose to not take the buy elves action because I want to focus on future infrastructure.

Also, Penguin said the elves are sad and we should capitalize on that, somehow.

Plan listed below.

Taking Lucius's advice to not show up in London. Fountain on Chibi, Hire new diplomacy advisor, and switch Elizabeth to Intrigue effective immediately.
Diplomacy: Julian on How's the crowd going to figure out what everyone thinks of us. Network at the ministry to help smooth over the panic (hopefully not at the London ministry) and Rebellion for calming stuff down.
Stewardship: Finally build the workshop and use a personal action to take the houseelf action again. Trade for wood needed, and sell a bunch of materials to make sure we have enough cash to buy all 500 elves if it succeeds.
Martial: Buy Cheapest dwelling so we have enough cash for elves, security staff because of the squirrel mafia the chaos overlord has recruited, and send Urie to stall the spread of Land of Dead in Wales. Urie is needed here because he can cast nature spells.
Intrigue: Plot against death faction and their puppets the ministry of magic. 3rd action on trolling because apparently it's really powerful and the only ally we have left is Dumbledore so friendly fire won't happen
Learning: Amnesia and Deja vu to counter whatever Ceridwen did. Hives would get the Overlord doing a smash and grab on us which we really do not want.
Mysticism: Y Ddraig again because Oliver's probably going to be forced to leave after this turn. Drain the swamp because it was a terrible idea and start on figuring out how to not die from HBS.
Personal: SL meetings with everyone except Rufus (who's taking a vacation in Africa) and Lily and one to get a stewardship action.

[X] Plan: Drain the Swamp

[X] Panic at the Ministry (Welsh) : Elizabeth is currently in Cardiff, smoothing things over with the government because your building an army didn't escape their notice, and she decided it would be a good idea to keep the Welsh division of the ministry off your back (4)
[X] Panic at the Ministry (Irish) : Ireland sure is nice at this time of the year, and lack of alarminf reports from that side truly were a blessing. Recently though, Dace received word suspicious groups were milling about. Might want to do something about that.(81)
[X]Who to use the fountain on?
-[X]Chibi
[X]Yes ( 1000 G/T of Salary, will let you choose his focus.) (Pure Diplomacy build)

: Julian will run around and wreak havok, but mostly check your employees and anyone here to see who's who.
--Opinions revealed, chance to reveal SLs.
[X] Networking at the Ministry. With the new minister, comes a new balance of power. You never really bothered with it before, but with the current state of things, getting a few people to report to you and allowing you to influence the decisions would be rather advantageous.
40 % Chance of success.
Reward: Gain access to Ministry confidential information. Chance to get access to Ministry resources.
Costs : 1000G
[X]Rebellion. Due to the Ministry's new policies, creatures have started rebelling all over the Isles, and a call has been sent to put them back under control.

[X] Military expedition:
-[X] Scour the area : Just because it's there doesn't mean it still will.

[X] Compulsive plotting is also good for the morale!
50 / 30 / 10% Chances of success
-[X] Go on a trolling rampage an adventure! Chance to increase Intrigue, cripple enemies, RP with some people.

Learning:
[X]Amnesia? : Something's off with Dace's memories, but he doesn't know what. Despite his research, there was no traces of mind alteration, so it should be something else...
[X]Déja vu : Now that you think about it, those headache feel suspiciously like some kind of speech, but who is trying to contact you?

Mysticism:
[X]Study your condition: Your body's okay for now, but using stopgap methods won't help forever.
[X]Drain the swamp : Nevermind, this was a terrible idea!
Costs : 40 000G
-Swamp drained, terrain changes to Plains / Mountains
-Fortress changes to Rampart
[X] Y Ddraig Aur. He emerges once every thousand years and was until recently chewing on a few cows in what remains of your backyard, but this time, it was early. Why?
[X]You have better to do : Allows to ignore the Funeral rites, instead taking a -10 penalty on a random action. (Free action)

Personal:
[X] Spend time with one of your SLs: +2 RP
-[X] Family time with Martha : Opens Caradoc and Caerwyn SLs
-[X]Tea with Slughorn: + 3 RP
-[X]Lessons with Ollivander: +3 RP
-[X] Accounting with Lucius: + 3 RP
-[X]Trolling with Elizabeth
-[X]Sneaking training with Chibi

[X] Extra action. Use your own free time to do stuff. (May only be taken once, may be used as substitute for AP)
-[X]The House Elf situation. The elephant in the room. The fact that both goblins and house elves are ticking time bombs cannot be ignored. Dace can, however, try to mitigate the damage by buying and converting some of them, using Lucius as an intermediary.
35% chances of success. +10 Due to previous decision.
Reward: More elves, RP with Lucius, lessened damage to society.
Cost: 200G / Elf.

Total cost: 1,000 + 1,000 + 20,000 + 18,700 + 40,000 + 20,000 + 20 wood + 15,000 + 1,000 + 40,000 + elf cost
156,700, 20 wood, 40 Mercury, 40 Sulfur, 26 Stone, 5 Crystals. Gain of 58,300 from selling resources

Can I convince you to follow my path for Diplomacy and steward, and dropping the buying of elves for this turn.

I don't want to drop the house elf action. It boosts our military, Lucius RP, and reduces society unrest. It does delay buying a new province, but we don't have a nexus to secure a new location anyways.

For diplomacy actions, @LordPenguin How does connections at the ministry synergize with our rumors? Is Dace at risk?

Remember how I talk about how on fire everything always is?

Are you sure it's good idea to drain your strategic reserve of cash?

@Kufufu and @QueenPally I've changed the stewardship action to real estate hunt, 1 diplomacy action to slander the new mind controlled minister of magic instead of hunting creatures to save 20k G, our dwelling to get higher level creatures, and adjusted what resources we sell. The beta hinted at us needing a lot of cash reserves so I didn't want to ignore it.

We'll have just under 70k in cash reserves.

I asked if it was wise to get rid of all your cash like you were planing with the elf action. I never said you needed a lot.

An Elf’s Tale: Part 1 (Noncanon) +6
An Elf's Tale: Part 1

Slinky was scrubbing the ovens when she felt the summons. Master needed her. A little voice whispered that she should refuse and be free, free of the useless, end–. Slinky buried that thought with a shudder, she liked cleaning. And she'd have to punish herself for thinking that, perhaps knocking her head against the wall three times would be enough.

With a crack, she apparated into Master's study. She took note of what needed to be cleaned – A speck of dust on the candlestick, crumpled up parchment next to the rubbish bin, a sock on the desk, a –. A sock! D-did Master want to get rid of her?

"It took her a whole minute to respond. It used to be less than a second." Master sighed, "Maybe this will get the rest to stop slacking."

Master really did mean to cast her out! Slinky wailed and flung herself on the ground, "Please, Master! Anything but clothes!"

Master brought his hand down on the desk with a crack, "Shut up! Mr. Gwallawg here has need of your services. He's certainly paid enough for it." He tossed the sock over to his guest and nodded curtly at him. "If that is all, Mr. Gwallawg."

The blond-haired man deftly caught the sock and bowed slightly, "Indeed, Mr. Doddle. A pleasure doing business with you." With his free hand he gestured towards the door, "After you, Slinky."

When they neared the entrance to the Doddle manor, the new Master paused, "Unfortunately, I couldn't purchase your sister Sibpy as well. If I get more funds, I will attempt to do so." He pointed towards the woman waiting outside the entrance. "Agatha will explain your new duties to you."

Slinky blinked in surprise, the new Master actually cared about Slinky? Why would anyone care about a house elf?

***
AN: Part 2 will be Slinky becoming a free-elf

How does connections at the ministry synergize with our rumors?
With the British one. Basically you use your contact ( I E Umbridge) and pray she has enough weight to get you out of the obvious trap.
Lucius merely snorted and told him not to go, as it was most likely a move to turn him into a scapegoat of sorts.
Remember who's the puppetmaster.

Maybe even open up SLs with Agatha, Oliver, or Urie. Network at the ministry to help smooth over the panic (hopefully not at the London ministry) and slandering the new minister of magic controlled by mummy.
Stewardship: Finally build the workshop and use a personal action to take buying another province. Trade for wood needed, and sell some materials to make sure we have plenty of cash. I tried to make sure we wouldn't have to buy anything besides wood when building things next turn.
Martial: Buy dwelling for swamp bulls, security staff because of the squirrel mafia the chaos overlord has recruited, and send Urie to stall the spread of Land of Dead in Wales. Urie is needed here because he can cast nature spells.
Intrigue: Plot against death faction and their puppets the ministry of magic. 3rd action on trolling because apparently it's really powerful and the only ally we have left is Dumbledore so friendly fire won't happen (we aren't friendly with dad).

I should really f5 that more often.

Hrm, Draining the Swamp is expensive and we might want to hold on to the Defensive bonus a little while longer. Real Estate hunt unlocks expensive purchases like this one:
[] Real Estate Hunt (step 2). The people who take care of the real estate have encountered a bit of a snag when it comes to the property you want to buy. There is an infestation of trolls. Because of that, you can buy it at a reduced price, but you'll need to deal with them. Cost 800 000G.
Which would seriously hamstring us next turn. Especially since the Workshop will probably also require an input of valuable things and Martha/Lucius/Elizabeth might come back online next turn.

The Minister is an agent of Death. Messing with him directly is probably going to put us on the Death Radar much harder. And while we need the EXP for our Heroes that Scouring the area of enemies would probably bring, our army is weaksauce compared to that of other factions, even if we do take in the Elves(and rebellion might be our best shot at getting Pegasi. And/or potentially a Centaur option). We probably shouldn't split our forces too heavily. At least until we get a Mage guild.
And I'd reckon our SLs need damage control more than information of how bad the situation is. And sacrificing both our learning slots just to counteract the influence of Cherry doesn't seem worth the -10 penalty. Take one and Survey the Land, see if we can get any more shinies going into the next turn.

We should be able to get Elves if we don't go for Real Estate or draining the Swamp but if Elves aren't a concern?

[X] Plan Disregard Death, acquire Currency.

[X] Panic at the Ministry (Welsh) : Elizabeth is currently in Cardiff, smoothing things over with the government because your building an army didn't escape their notice, and she decided it would be a good idea to keep the Welsh division of the ministry off your back (4)

Admittedly, the Welsh Ministry might get a bit more agitated from us taxing people as a feudal lord while also taking further control over the free sector but we kinda need the income if we don't want to go into debt when we do something expensive. But at least we won't get another 500 Elves...yet(though we can easily afford them next turn if they haven't exploded and we do this).

Edit: Could go Matchmaking instead of Cardiff. See if we can level up Dace's Diplomacy and Empathy again.

Alright, changed diplomacy to bolster Dace's reputation.

I don't agree with you Qeqre on some points.
1. Swamp isn't that much better as defensive terrain and we know OOC that we aren't likely to be attacked for a few turns.
2. Going into debt isn't a big deal and we need to expand to prevent land of dead from breaking further into Wales.
3. Death is gunning for us, so we need to be proactive on countering them. We're already their #1 enemy so putting ourselves on Death's radar isn't a problem (we've already screwed that one up)
4. Scouring isn't for xp, it's to prevent land of dead from spreading which we also need to be proactive about.

Elves, we're basically giving up on. It will likely explode this turn. I also note that we only bought 350 elves out of 1000, but now only 500 are for sale.

I can see your point on Julian and Mysticism though.

Omake: "That Guy" (Not enough fluff, therefore noncanon) +8
It was the usual day at the office. Handling the paper work for one of the Australian farms, and working on some other issues.

He was mulling about what his heiress had said when she spoke to one young Malfoy. She had referred to him as "that guy". Not grandfather, or Grandpa, or Dace. Just "that guy". Clearly he needed to do something about this. He had an image to keep, and at the same time make it so Oliver wouldn't look disapproving at him every time he made an appearance.

"I know exactly what you need to do" Julian said as he walked into the room. "I sensed your distress, and I am here help"
"Hmm, I see. That's a problem. You should give her a gift, something she would appreciate. You can do this."

After finishing the one sided conversation Julien headed out as quick as he had come. Leaving the door open.

"A gift? " He started thinking about what she could possibly want. Jewelry, She was to young to appreciate it. Food, to bland. It had something she would like. She had those pets with her didn't she, always one of them in sight. The white tiger kitten, Hassan, and the unicorn, the names not really registering. One of the Phoenix eggs would soon hatch, perhaps one of those could be given to her. An image of an old man with a phoenix on his shoulder crossed his mind, and his mood soured. Perhaps one of the other beasts would work better.

***

He watched calmly as his heiress walked into the office, accompanied by Oliver and Scáthach , the elder. Weird, it was like they didn't trust him.

"Scáthach, I have a gift for" he slowly said, watching their reactions as he said that. Oliver looked stoic as ever, so did Scáthach the elder for that matter. His heiress looked a bit more interested as she studied the rattling the crate beside.

"let me present to you this young hydra". He opened the create as a tiny hydra jumped out of it. With Its light gray scales and its small heads it slowly moved towards her with interest. It wasn't long before it started snuggling its heads towards her. She looked happy"

"Thanks Grandpa"

It seemed he had succeeded.

***

We need more Hydras in our life, and after looking up picture of them in Heroes.

The baby version of this would be adorable.

1. Swamp might not be that big of a deal but upgrading our Druids could be. More so if we get the building fast enough. Basically, build an army before landscaping. Hydra/Swamp Bull growth should be high enough in the interim.
2. Going into debt might not be a big deal but doubling our income is. Otherwise? We'd be beter served getting the Elves because it means we have a better shot at directly attacking a target like the Orkney Isles since Land of the Dead limits people to T1 spells if we can get a hero some artifacts and gains.
3. Aife is back(Riddle wants her for his Waifu collection IIRC, not sure how that impacts Mummy's decision making) and Death might be tying off loose ends with Order.
4. It's not an immediate concern for us. Sure, Land of the Dead spreading means fewer army killers being tossed around and disables Destroy Undead but it also means the Death faction is drawing more aggro from other factions.

Edit:
Ah right.

In HoMM5 Hydras were part of the Dark Elf(Dungeon) faction.
In case Dace wants an underground base for added concealment(they also had the Red/Black Dragons as part of their unit roster in case we manage to poach a few eggs while leaving the Dragons themselves for the Overlord to hunt).

Probably impossible for Dace as long as he's Nature aligned though. HoMM5 Dark Elves worshipped the Dragon of Darkness.

[X] Plan: Drain the Swamp

Changed the plan again after discussion on discord. The plan name is now a lie. Fitting given its inspiration.

Mysticism is the 3 nexus actions which synergize to autopass. And since it will take a few turns until we have a secondary anchor to expand I waited a turn on real estate and switched in the village action for the huge amount of money. Intrigue switched to matchmaking rampage over spying on the ministry. Hopefully we get a desperately needed empathy boost.

That Guy, revisited. (semi-canon) +8
That Guy, revisited.

A servant delivered the crate containing the baby hydra to Dace's office. Dace nodded in satisfaction. He would win back Scathach's affection by giving her a pet. Hydras were an excellent source of ingredients for potions and other magical items as well as being quite deadly to assassins. Not to mention Hydra's were cool, at least according to Agatha. An excellent combination for his heir. That item taken care of, Dace turned to the essay Lucius had assigned him on tax evasion. But before he could do so, there was a loud knock at his door and Julian ducked into his office.

"Hey boss!" he said, "Did you pick out the gift for Scathach?"

Dace nodded and gestured toward the crate containing the baby hydra. For a long moment Julian just looked at the crate. Then he let out a deep, mournful sigh, "Boss, that's not a good choice."

Dace frowned, but Julian was the expert here, sort of, so he didn't interrupt Julian as he barreled on.

"She's a little girl with a puppy, a kitten, and a pony. She likes cute, fuzzy things. I'd suggest one of the squirrels, but those little guys are awfully hard to track down. And by Merlin's beard, I hope you have enough sense not to suggest a rat. She'd never want one of those as a pet. In my opinion, your best bet is a phoenix chick. A cute little bird, and she'll have a life long companion to protect her. And one that can heal almost any injury with their tears!"

Dace glowered at his newest employee and gritted out, "She already has a phoenix whenever she visits Dumbledore."

Julian frowned, "Ah, right. Well, how about an owl then? If we pick out the right breed it'll be plenty cute and fuzzy and she can write letters to her friends and family."

Dace drummed his fingers on his desk – an owl was a rather boring gift.

"Trust me boss, an owl will go over way better than the hydra. I'll go pick one out for you! I promise you'll like the results."

Julian picked up the hydra crate and ducked out of the office. Dace shrugged and went back to his essay, this was one of the reasons why he had hired Julian. A shame that his granddaughter wouldn't want a pet hydra though.

I want more interludes. They are most fun.

Overlord seems like a current winner? I mean, I don't remember him being fucked and he was wise to stay under radar when all the upstarts clashed and weakened themselves.

Edit.
the PKH protagonist is entering prologue phase.

What's PKH?

Edit2.
Heaven, Hell, The void are all things. Proof: Aife dug her way into Hell. She came back running.

Dumb bitch. We should off her before she ruins some holding laws of the universe or something.

Peter Pettigrew of all people gave him a mortal wound. He's on a clock just like Dace is.
And you don't want to know what PKH is. Trust me, I googled it and I regret it.

Hydras needs more love. (semi canon, too many fires to put out for pets) +7
Hydras needs more love.

After finding a fitting owl, and delivering it to the boss he still had one more issue to handle. Okay, he had a lot more issue to handle. The only thing keeping the staff sane before he had gotten here where the wolfs, who acted far to much like cuddly dogs, and the well of despair he had seen earlier. Also, the elves. He couldn't forget the elves. Well, it was nothing he couldn't handle. He would fix the issues in due time. Be the best employee he could be, and soon he would the boss's right hand man.

Now, for one of the more immediate concerns. That being the crate in front of him.

"So little guy, what should we do about you" he said to crate. As he understood it. The hydra was of a smaller variant of the species, which would make it an ideal pet, if the person didn't die do something stupid and got himself killed.

He opened the create to get a better view of the beast. Its many heads with grace scales looked up towards him. The beast looked worried, and apparently did't appreciate being looked in a crate for the better part of a day.

It had a row of tiny teeth, which could replace itself after being broken, and it's eyes shifted from being worried to being filled with curiosity. It's head leaned closer to him to get a sniff of him, an action he found weirdly adorable.

"I guess I should send you back to Austalia or something, but you are far to adoptable for that", he picked the hydra up to get a better look at it, something that wasn't hard given his stature. Hydra's where a bit heavier that your normal pets, but not by much. The Hydra seemed happier by being in its grasp. Animals, like humans weren't hard to get a read on if you knew what you where doing, which he definitely was, he was no Oliver, but he could pull it off.

"I will name you Salazsar"

With that Julian is properly settled into the nature faction, that meaning he considers lethal beasts and animals cuddly and adorable.

Players are most welcome to write some negaverse interludes of their own. I'm still waiting for that 'what if' where players have Dace and know how to intrigue.

And you don't want to know what PKH is. Trust me, I googled it and I regret it.

Partially kissed hero, a Harry Potter fanfiction written by Perfect Lionheart. In which Harry Potter gets somehow half kissed by a dementor and things go from there. Do go read it, after that, you'll look at other bad fanfictions (including this quest) and you'll find them cute.
