So uhh, Why are there no solar elder crafters? are there no solar elders in general or is it something specific to craft?

It's been, like, a fucking year since this thing was due.

Why is it still this broken if it's been under revision so long?
Not arguing about the charm, but this is at least slightly disingenuous. The developers aren't being paid at the moment, I'm pretty sure some of them have been taking part in other projects, and at least a few apparently have school/full time jobs to do as well. Hell, the craft system has been really worked on for, from what the updates are telling me, a few weeks at most, and has had at least one major revision in that time.

Edit: Also, regarding the teleport power, note that it only works if you haven't moved or suffered knockdown between when you start and when you finish. Given that we don't know how easy it is to move people or knock them down, I would say that we don't know quite how powerful the anima is, at least as a combat escape.

IIRC, in Holden's last update, he said that the Craft Charms/system were just about done. That wasn't too long ago, so I doubt that the Charms have been through the editors or playtesters yet.

The fundamental problem with the leak is what we see here: indignant martyrs throwing themselves onto the pyre of hyperbolic internet outrage and public derision, convinced that they understand the truth, and that out of the hundreds of testers that have been involved with everything, taken from all levels of mechanical competence with the systems, not a single one of them had the ability to notice problems they could see in a smattering of seconds.

People's perceptions of the game are being colored by the handful of spoiled powers those who like to share are displaying, and they're extrapolating from these handful of effects to the set as a whole despite what's been revealed being an extreme small minority of what's available.

I assure you: none of you are any better than the people in the playtest. You do not possess the true sight where they lack and are found wanting. There has not been a single comment on a single forum that hasn't already been brought up by the people who are actually looking at everything as a whole, together, and seeing how it interacts.

Cool your tits. They are unnecessarily hot. We've managed to avoid drooling on ourselves long enough to note the obvious as well as you and pass it along.

How can I cool my tits, the fires of my burning ignorance are so hot that I've begun to master spontaneous combustion! The Pyre of my Indignant Martyrdom will have me rise a phoenix from the flame and my mouths shall sing the six songs that will annihilate Oynx Path and the Exalted Brand forever with the fury of my Hatred!

(I assure you that none of us are saying that we are better then the people in the playtest. We are saying that the developers even thought that charm was a good idea in the first place was a horrible move on their part. Also if you noticed before, I already asked everyone to stop discussing the leaks lest we start a massive flame war.)

None of you are saying it explicitly. For a handful of you, the sentiment throbs and thrums in your posts like the veins on your neck. My post is directed at those few.

As for the Charm being a bad idea in the first place: not really. I intrinsically dislike teleport powers and retcon powers, but with the proper limits so that it can't be spammed the game doesn't freak out. I can't comment on the specific Charm in question, but I will once again endeavor to assure you all: no one involved in this, including the devs, is retarded. Yes, some ideas are rough. They require polish and revision.

The ideas *themselves*, though? Those aren't always bad. "Aha, I got away!" can be cool, done right. The purpose of the test is to find everything not done right and help it be done right.

Out of respect for both homebrew of yours that I've enjoyed using in the past (assuming your the same Theion) and the community compact of SV, I'll be polite. If you have just come here to pick fights and argue with us, could you please leave. At this point you are effectively just trying to provoke several posters into flaming you, and we really don't want that type of behavior here.

Yes emotions are running a little high at the moment, considering what we see as a disconnect between what the developers have said, and what ended up leaked. That is understandable, considering the entire fan base is cracked right now waiting for the product that we paid for this time last year, especially when things we had been anticipating for years ended up getting cancelled to begin work on it (ie the Lunar Errata).

That is no excuse for you to join this forum purely to act smug in our faces over how your part of the playtesting and we are not, thus invaliding any opinions on what we have been shown. Please, and I'm trying to be polite here go away if that is all you are going to do. I am a little annoyed at Omnicron for the same reason, but at least he contributed on other things here since he joined.

I can't decide whether or not I like this post.

In any case, Dual Magnus Prana's prerequisites are far more interesting than its effects. We knew there was going to be synergy between Crafting and Sorcery, but I didn't expect to see it in charm prerequisites. I'm assuming it's because Sorcery isn't part of the charm stream, and can therefore interface with Abilities beyond Occult.

I wonder if Martial Arts follow a similar approach.

That is not at all what Theion's doing. Here, let me rephrase his post a little more diplomatically:

The playtesters have picked up on the same issues you have and had similar reactions, so stop acting like its the end of the god damned world already.

You're picking up on issues that don't actually exist, Sucal. Check yourself before you wreck yourself, mate.

...wow. Just, wow. Seriously? That's what you read from them? "I'm in playtesting and you're not?" Fuck you, Sucal. They both have *good freaking points* and all the frankly unjustfied pessimism is actually getting pretty fucking annoying. I'm *not* in the playtest, either. But I can fucking *read*, and understand what's being *said.* But you know what, I'm just gonna stop now, I'm pissed off and I'm just gonna stop reading this thread until all this crap blows over.

Fenrir666, at least try to be polite when no one is actually swearing or anything like that. I'm reading and understanding what is being said, but saying the same thing over and over again when Omnicron had already said it is annoying when peoples emotions are running high. The entire topic of Third edition and the leaks is basically becoming an instant flamewar which is why I've been trying to get people to drop it for the last page.

Then Theion joined just to make a post that can easily be considered attacking people that aren't happy with things that were leaked.

Good lord, you're a hypocritical one aren't you?

I am the one and only, and in gratitude for your courtesies I will let you enjoy sharing my air for awhile longer.

What ended up leaked is material explicitly designed to be modified, experimented with, and changed. That is the nature of a playtest. This is not an MMO beta where it's just a way to stress test your servers and show off the game. These are first-draft ideas, made to be hammered into suitable form by the bludgeon of consensus and stress-testing.

Anyone who is going apoplectic over a rough draft power in a playtest that was not meant to be viewed by the public specifically because the material in it is rough draft and thus not ready yet is a person that needs to be called out and made to cool down. That your response to being told we're not mouthbreathing fishmalks is to defend your safe space where you talk about superheroes and spaceships speaks volumes of you.

Volumes that make me wish I were deaf. You're not being oppressed. You're not being cheated out of your money. It was a kickstarter, and it told you it'd be ready when it's ready, all dates are estimates.

Just lean over and dip your nips in this frosty pail.

It's not that I'm smug, you're just autistic.

I feel this is inappropriate, especially as I am mildly autistic (Aspergers Syndrome).

"You're just being foolish" would have been preferable.

Not that I wish to take a side at this time. I am not a fan of "Twilight teleport" or "Doombot".

Both feel a bit weird and silly.

At least I can imagine the "Doombot option" being completely denied to anyone subjected to Eye of the Unconquered Sun. "I use EotUS -- either I force your player to reveal you as a Doombot right now before I waste time fighting you, or when I kill you here, you will really die."
