Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[X] Classy and imperious, just like Mother would do!

I like all the choices that play with the fact that we are somewhat mentally older than the rest of the children. With this one, our pre-death experiences should make it natural to behave elite-like and act with more authority than the rest of the children, like a confident adult instead of a pompous brat.

From a min-maxing perspective, this approach would work great with high social skills. We could end up being the leader of the class if we don't tank our studies. However, even with our low charisma, we will probably end up generally respected and well connected. Our empathy will help here, as we will get a lot of mileage from being able to help our classmates when they have small needs that we can fulfill. Acting classy also means being good at studies, so that's covered. We might be a bit hard to approach and thus have no real friends, but that is fine, as we can start making true friends with our Genin Team later. We will probably also gain an enemy or two (Kiba and the other rowdy ones are prone to really disdain our style), but that is nothing we can't handle.

From a role-playing perspective this is refreshingly different, with intrigueing interaction with Mother and rowdy classmate haters. It nicely dodges the most trodden paths (nerdy loner or class fool anyone?). The lack of true friendship is a minus, but at this point it's either that or sucking at our studies (we aren't good enough to carry anyone with us yet), so it can't be helped.

Not the guy you responded to, but I'm honestly not sure that it really does work for her. What has her behaviour actually accomplished? How has being a demanding and bullying snob helped either her or us in any way?

You can only get away with being imperious if you actually have power and authority. If you don't, then you just come across as a self-entitled dick. If we actually had power, then maybe it would work. That kind of hubris is not something we want if we plan on making any friends and allies, particularly given that we'll be in a military organisation where we're expected to follow orders.
We do have the power of having lived another life. We are more mature, experienced and wise, and thus should naturally be able to gather authority. I would otherwise agree with you, but us having been re-incarnated makes a difference.

We need to seriously work on our Mental & Social stats, and ideally "Studious yet friendly" will help Daisuke make progress on several Achievements. Plus, having ninja friends literally makes us more likely to live, whereas you can only go so far on brute force.

[X] Bizzare and Focused. You constantly forget that other kids don't experience life as a video game, which makes your intense (and mildly obsessive) tendencies even more apparent.

Yolo, @Vesvius let me in coach

Looks at 8 gates gai. Speak for yourself

Remember we joined the ninja academy for a reason and it wasn't to make friends. We got trouble on the way and we need power to deal with it. We are Determined to succeed.

Daisuke is literally nowhere near that yet, and Gai is hardly a witless fool. If we wanna use the full 8 Gates and not die, we're gonna need better Mental stats as well as Physical. Even then, we're gonna need friends who'll protect us and help us recover from all that explosive overclocking.

Technically he could be if we made enough omake and fanart to make him instant elite taijutsu and pinnacle stats

im·pe·ri·ous
ˌimˈpirēəs/
adjective
  1. assuming power or authority without justification; arrogant and domineering.

I think people might be thinking Daisuke won't be an asshole with this choice, but that's running counter to the definition of 50% of the vote. If people want to be that way then that's fine, but I'd hate for people to misunderstand what they're voting for.

[X] Studious and Brainy. You're going to learn all the things!

Methinks actually having friends will work out better and make us feel a little less alien amongst our peers.

[X] Industrius and Mysterious (Rumormonger). Work hard, and ensure any truth about you is lost among all the lies.

Does this work?
It's kind of surprising that their lifestyle hasn't altered one bit after Tokei's death. One would have thought the subsidies she would have been receiving would have been cut off given just what happened.
Unless she hasn't let that slip just yet, and is planning on manufacturing failing health/etc via letters over the next months.

Hmm. If the goal is fun shenanigans to go with his personality, one option would be...

[x] Gregarious and determined. You're gonna work like hell and help this group become the best ninja teams ever!

So, do you wanna try that then? I have one idea for Daisuke's younger brother to have overheard some talk of him, and decide to receive some Samurai training under the pretense of protecting himself- So that way he'll be strong enough to investigate who Daisuke really is, deciding to not ask his dad directly.

[X] Serious and Hard Working. The sight of the Academy fills you with D E T E R M I N A T I O N

Best option future options will also help shape us

You better not be implying our mother is an ass my dude.

I mean... she kinda is, super demanding and rude, and for no reason to, she doesn't have the power for it to make sense. Plus, the vote doesn't really make sense anyway, to be following in our "Mother's" footsteps, we have been reincarnated, so it's not like we're an actual child who would want to be exactly like their parents. Besides, even if we were, it's better to make friends than to be a stuck up and snotty brat.

I feel I should elaborate. I pick this in the hopes of the rumormongering bit becoming habitual, so that years down the line Dai's legend has grown into some top tier bullshit.

Accepted, but expect a lot of lurking in corners if it wins.
Hmm, acceptable. Lurking in corners is the best. (and ties into my idea of this partially being a response of mistrust from the turning of Tokei, leading to him withdrawing a bit from most people)

Also it'll probably lead to the odd cheery character trying to drag us out of our shell or something.

Well she did have a nation leader fall in love with her, so deeply that when she had us he didn't have either of us killed. Then there was that time she managed to get by that guard without telling him her circumstances. Oh and that time where she got us a legion of training dummies set up for us in an afternoon.
