Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

I do agree, though Intermediate Song of Discord would allow Daisuke to actually use it. Plus Sasuke wouldn't expect Daisuke to have already "refined" any Technique, so there's the Surprise Factor there.

It'd probably be better to aim for stuff that needs 300 XP or less, mostly because multiple Skills/Techniques/Attributes ranking up is better than just one versatility-wise. Getting Advanced or Mastered Endless Sword would probably help with Chakra cost too, or at least make it more likely to break Sasuke's Fireball.

Zabuza a Jounin said Haku was stronger than him.

You do know that he meant Haku was stronger than him as a person, not as in fighting? Because Zabuza was 7 Swordsman, which is basically Kiri's Sannin if slightly less powerful and more limited. Haku had his bloodline/needles, and taijutsu and that was it. If they had been in a vastly different place to fight, Haku would've had what? Just his taijutsu and maybe his bloodline if he knows at least 1 water jutsu or there's a puddle around, but if not, he's screwed.

That said, I strongly disagree with any strategy trying to re-open old traumas in Sasuke. He's a fellow Leaf-nin after all, and not only could re-traumatizing him cause him to open his Sharingan early (thus basically ending the fight in his favor), but it could seriously fuck him up. Is a title and achievement really worth what it would say about Daisuke's character if he won them this way?

Yeah, that's why I mentioned that would be an incredibly bad idea. Not to mention, it'd ruin our social standing amongst our classmates and others within Konoha.

Yet, give the Omake writers time.

I'm pretty sure that no matter what the Omake Writers do, Naruto will still have more chakra than us for the rest of our lives due to that seal constantly forcing Kyuubi's chakra through his chakra system to widen it every day(Hell, we don't have exact measurements of how much chakra over how long gets through the seal and forces Naruto's chakra system to widen so it could vary, could be a lot, could be a little, could be anything). So unless Daisuke becomes a Jinchuuriki of the 7-8 tails, that ain't happening. And that's before the whole 4th war bullshit with Kurama, which I have no idea if Vesvius is keeping around. @Vesvius, are you keeping that Tailed Beast part of the 4th War or are you going your own way for any TB powerups for Jinchuurikis?

Alright, for Daisuke's "Mundane" Skills, only Acrobatics/Sleight of Hand/Perception seem like they'll help if ranked up. Since this is an open spar, there's no point trying to convince Sasuke to stop. Thus Charisma & the various Social Skills are only helpful for distracting him.

You know,
- Daisuke is Pinnacle appearance
- Thanks to interludes, they were each other's first kiss
- Sasuke is a dumb, awkward teenager
- Rankings suggest Sasuke may be better than Daisuke at combat
- According to an expert analysis of online fanfiction, statistically speaking, Sasuke is probably gay

So what I'm getting for that is that we need to seduce Sasuke. Really, it's the route most likely to succeed.

Talk no jutsu? That may be an option against a different opponent that we're trying to get to stand down or weaken their resolve, but I don't think it'll apply much here.
Probably more like intimidate, bluff, and manipulation but I doubt adept is good enough to really affect sasuke, I'm not saying we should invest in those just bringing up that they could be useful in a fight if done properly.

Actually @Vesvius for future reference does bluff+manipulation+performance make for a convincing faint? You know trick our opponents into thinking we're doing one thing instead of another.

@Vesvius has Sasuke demonstrated any abilities outside of canon that Daisuke would know about? Can we get a basic assessment on how he fights, what he's strong in, and what he's weak in, based on Daisuke's IC information from sparring with him off and on these past 7 years?

[X] Plan Pop goes the Weasel
- Go in for close quarters combat with our sword while frequently using Kawarimi and Bunshin to disguise which direction we're attacking from next, mixing in Tone of Discord (especially Tone of Confusion) to further disorient Sasuke. Keep Endless sword in reserve unless a good opening presents itself or Sasuke uses his Elemental Ninjutsu. Daisuke uses Straw and Wood dummies according to his own discretion.

Well, here's what I got.

[X] You will show off to the teachers in this battle. You will perform every technique precisely and efficiently to prove to them you should be ROTY. Winning is not necessary to be ROTY, though you aim to win.

[] Try to get up close and personal with Sasuke and use your superior kenjutsu skills to deny him the breathing room he needs for his more complex techniques. If he does manage to escape you and make some distance, use Tone of Discord with a vertigo effect, then a dummy+kawarimi combo to get back in his face from an unexpected direction. If/when Sasuke loses sight of you, summon a bunshin and hide it, and have it occasionally mimic the noise of your Tone of Discord to get him to disrupt his chakra unnecessarily. Be on the lookout for traps, ninja wire, shuriken tricks, and the Great Fireball. Steadily wear Sasuke down until an opportunity arises, then go all in and try to end the fight decisively.

This plan has the minor flaw of being impossible. Apparently bunshin can't mimic the sound of ToD.

Uhhh...

"Secret success condition three: prove you belong at the top of the heap."

...yes it is necessary to win here.

As a note, if there is any XP left putting some points toward our Jutsu would prolly be a great idea right about now.

Raised skills/Jutsu will be applied before the next update but achievements wont

In Daisuke's opinion, Sasuke is one of the classes stronger hand to hand combatants, usually ranking somewhere in the top five at all times. However it isn't his strongest field; he's much better with ninjutsu. He's the only one in class to demonstrate an elemental proficiency and his Academy Three are all solid. But his real strength is combining his ninjutsu with tools. Sasuke is tops in the class at shurikenjutsu and he's a good shot with a kunai. However, his favorite tricks all involve ninja wire.
