We just barely had a relationship up with tokei, no need to ruin it here.
 
It says branching paths. My gut says wiggling free puts us on a path more related to Daisuke's homeland.

I get the feeling like the nobleman is not going to let us stay in Konoha. Allowing Tokei to take us on the carriage with strangers sounds more like we're just gonna be kidnapped and our mother may be killed. We may not have the best relationship with her... but she's our mother, and filial piety has to count for something.


Then again, if the carriage option wins, I suppose it's always possible for us to endeavor to escape if that option ends badly...

Frankly, I don't see wriggling free as accomplishing anything beyond pissing off a prissy nobleman and making him harsher with whatever he's going to do. If mom covered her butt with the ninjas she should be safe enough, if she somehow didn't and they're selling her out we can't save her. This guy is conspicuous enough the ninja would have to be blind to miss him so whatever skin they've got in this game should play itself out in our absence.

'When we are ready for you' if Umo and Tokei are both leaving implies both the lord and Manami will be 'ready' when they get back, which implies at least she'll be alive if not happy. That's the best guarantee we're probably going to get.

Beyond that, going out to do stuff with noble granny is probably likelier to bring luck our way somehow and alert said political ninja that Things Are Happening than just having a fit.

This is just a common sense thing for me, when your a little kid never let the weird person you just met send you off to somewhere.
