London

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The first costumed vigilante in both the British Isles and London, the Night appeared in early 1916. Primarily focused on fighting the Consortium and stopping the criminal empire taking advantage of the then ongoing war, the Night also focused on regular crimes and the criminals of London soon learnt to fear his presence. He vanished in mid 1919 without a trace while investigating the politician Barnaby May-Porter and his ties to the Consortium leadership.

His secret identity is Benedict Wallis, grandson of the wealthy retired politician Gareth Wallis.
The youthful squire of the Fairy Knight and aspiring heroine, Sapphire Squire relies on a mixture of physical skill, mental ability and technological gadgets. A genius and prodigy, Sapphire Squire holds her own on the streets of London and has proven herself worthy of fighting alongside her mentor. Since 25th December 1920, Sapphire Squire has gained two magical abilities from her mentor, one which allows her to change her outfit at will and provide her clothing with protective properties while the other removes her needs for sleep, food and drink.
The second squire of Fairy Knight, Onyx Squire comes from a criminal background and seeks to help the world rather than hurt it like the rest of his family. Relying mainly on his fists and hardiness, Onyx Squire has picked some equipment and magic from Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, the most exotic of these being his partial invisibility and complete silence.

His secret identity is David White, son of the street thug Jacob White.
Jordan Brown is a chief inspector within the Metropolitan Police. A determined man who believes in stopping criminals and protecting the innocent, Chief Inspector Brown is willingly to bend the law a little if it means seeing proper justice done.

Following his systematic dismantlement of the Dragonsteeth, Jordan Brown was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Detective Inspector. Following the arrest of the Templar, Jordan Brown has formed a formal covert partnership with the Fairy Knight.

As of 1st March 1921, Jordan Brown has been promoted to Chief Inspector from Detective Inspector under a cloud of politics, high tenses and borderline infighting amongst the Metropolitan Police.
Gareth Wallis is a wealthy man and a retired politician who has known great tragedy. The ageing man has outlived all of his family and currently lives alone in London with his butler. He was aware of his grandson's activities as the Night and covertly funded his crusade. As of January 1920, he supports and funds Fairy Knight's continuation of the Night's crusade.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
While some call him a hero, the Golden Knight is definitely a criminal. Appearing in 1919, the Golden Knight and his Golden Order are returning veterans of the Great War. While they fight the Consortium and claim to see justice for the people, many of the Golden Order's activities are regular organised crime and in some ways, the Golden Knight is just another crime lord who dressed up as a costumed vigilante.

On 9th February 1920, the Golden Order captured Sam Carson of the White Devils and hold him captive.
On 24th April 1920, the Golden Knight aided Fairy Knight at Anna Lucas' party.
The White Devils are a London street gang that was led by Sam Carson and backed by the Consortium. A male dominated gang that believes in the supremacy of the white Englishman, the White Devils seek to purge London of its 'foreign filth'. Covertly supported by the Consortium, the White Devils rose to prominence falling the Night's disappearance and seek to 'clean out' Whitechapel so they can turn it into their territory and use the neighbourhood as a base of operations.

On 9th February 1920, Sam Carson was defeated by Fairy Knight before being captured by the Golden Order. Following the loss of their leader, the White Devils have fallen into infighting and got systemically picked off by their foes. As of mid 1920, the gang no longer exists.

As of 25th February, Sam Carson was freed from the captivity of the Golden Order by Redcoat, presumably on the orders of the Consortium.
The Dragonsteeth were a major street gang that was founded and led by Anna Lucas. Covertly backed by the Consortium, the Dragonsteeth held a position of prominence within the London criminal underworld and the gang held great influence over several small gangs.

On 24th April 1920, Anna Lucas was defeated by Fairy Knight and later arrested by the police alongside several of her subordinates.

Between late April 1920 and early August 1920, Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown systematically dismantled the gang. He did so by arresting and putting in prison most of their leadership and membership, shutting down all of their major operations and most of their minor ones and he ruined their reputation.

As of September 1920, Cliff Gregory currently leads what is left of the Dragonsteeth with the gang having gone to ground as a remnant of their former glory.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens.
Levy Porter was the chief enforcer of the Dragonsteeth, a feared man for his deadly prowess. He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown on the 24th April 1920 after being defeated by Fairy Knight and was later sent to prison.
Levy Porter was a sub-boss of the Dragonsteeth and their main accountant. An experienced elderly man, he managed most of the gang's finances and briefly took over half of it following Anna Lucas' arrest.

He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown during early June 1920 and was later sent to prison.
Cliff Gregory is the current leader of what remains of the Dragonsteeth. An ambitious and dangerous man, he leads what is left of the gang after avoiding being arrested by Detective Brown.

As for 25th February 1921, Cliff Gregory is attempting to return the gang to prominence and has broken its prior ties with the Consortium.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens. The current fate of Cliff Gregory is unknown.
The Consortium is the top dog within the criminal underworld of London with its leadership remaining unknown to outsiders and most within the Consortium. Whilst it has sway across most of the British Isles, the Consortium is located in London where it holds the most of its power and influence.

Despite enjoying a good couple of decades of effectively uncontested dominance, the Consortium has founded itself increasing under attack in recent years with its most prominent foes being the Night, the Golden Order and Fairy Knight.
An middle-manager within the Consortium who is responsible with coordinating with outside assets. He was Windstrike's liaison when the Consortium hired her to kill Fairy Knight in March 1920.
Known as Ronald Barr in his civilian identity, the Templar is a fearsome warrior who dresses up in plate armour, styling himself after a medieval knight. Wielding his imposing war hammer, the Fist of God, the Templar is one of the most dangerous individuals on London's streets with very few capable of matching him. Having retired from the army after a decade of service at the end of the Great War, Ronald seemingly works for an Anglican organisation that seeks to purge London's streets of heretics and infidels.

He was arrested on the 18th September 1920 after being defeated by the Fairy Knight, but avoided going to prison due to destruction of evidence during his trial.
Peter Michaelson was the leader of the Royal Ravens and a member of the Consortium. The Royal Ravens were the top gang in London and the Consortium used them as a proxy to control the streets of London. Following a rash attack on the Brown family in February 1921, the full force of the Scotland Yard came down on the Royal Ravens and as of April 1921, the gang has been systemically destroyed one way or another and is effectively no more.
Allen Baxter as the chief enforcer of the Royal Ravens.

On 16th February 1921, Allen Baxter was accidentally slain by Fairy Knight in battle.
25th February 1921, the Regal Ravens split off from the Royal Ravens.

Also known as Tedd Donald, the Squirrel is a talent and agile thief who steals from the rich as a challenge. After being caught by Fairy Knight on 10th August 1920, he has given up his life of crime.
The wife of Jordan Brown and mother of Brenda Brown and James Brown. A formerly cheerful and supportive woman, she was almost killed on the 18th February 1921. While she survived thanks to Fairy Knight's intervention, her right hand has been maimed and Eira has fallen into a deep depression.

As of May 1921, Eira has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.
The son of Jordan and Eira Brown and the younger brother of Brenda Brown. James Brown was a shy kid who witness his mother almost being killed in their own home on the 18th February 1921 alongside receiving injuries of his own. While he and his mother were saved by the Fairy Knight, the fallout has left him spooked and jumping at shadows.

As of May 1921, James has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.

While he is based in Winchester, Galahad operates in all of Hampshire.
The partner of Galahad and student of Merlin, Sentinel is a genius who creates devices and invents technology beyond what the rest of the world uses. His secret identity was revealed to be Oliver King, a soldier turned mercenary.
An upstart criminal group formed by some Irish folk up in Glasgow, they have seized control of the Glasgow criminal underworld from the Consortium and are battling the Consortium over Edinburgh's criminal underworld.
A villainous magic user, he has proven a capable spellcaster and a dangerous foe, especially if given time to prepare. He apparently works for an employer, but holds little loyalty to them and is willingly to further his own goals at their expense.

On the 18th March 1921, Druid defeated Sapphire Squire and bound Fairy Knight to his will for multiple hours. On the 19th March 1921, he foiled Sapphire Squire's attempt to rescue Fairy Knight before later releasing Fairy Knight.
A hired thug of little fame, he has been known to work for the Druid. The man is more dangerous from average thug, but has yet to display any out of ordinary.

Kingdom of the Faeries

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The King of the Faeries and former ruler of the Little Court of Ireland, Tiarnach is a stern, but fair ruler. A capable warrior and respected leader, he is a highly popular leader thanks to his own actions as King and his overthrowing of his aunt. He seeks to change the ways of his people and turn them into something more noble and less capricious.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
Sister to the first Queen of the Faeries and temporary usurper, Princess Taenya is an ambitious and paranoid woman. While she was able to amass a loyal following that allowed to overthrow her sister, Taenya valued loyalty and subservience over competence and ability. She would later meet her downfall when her paranoia and tyrannical rulership resulted turning half of her realm against her, purges that left her supporters greatly reduced in number and putting the most loyal subordinates in charge rather than those that were qualified to do the job.

While time flows differently in the Kingdom of the Faeries, it was roughly 6th May 1921 that Prince Tiarnach overthrow Taenya and became king.
The son of Taenya, Prince Auraen made up what he lacked in competence with obedience. He was left in charge of defending the Little Court of Scotland when his mother was overthrown, resulting in his defeat at the hands of Tamara Lyn and her squire.

Known Civilians and Neutral Organisations
The mother of Tamara Lyn and many other important fairies, the Queen of the Faeries was a powerful and uncontested leader. Having rightfully earnt both fear and respect, the Queen of the Faeries was a whimsical and capricious ruler who did what she felt like at any given moment thanks to being powerful enough to get away with it.

At some point prior to start of 1920, she was overthrown by her sister Taenya and has not been seen from since.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Moira rules over the Little Court of England. While she is a decent ruler, Moira is more focused on magic and improving her magical abilities. She and her half-sister Tamara consider each other to be their favourite sibling.

As of May 1921, Princess Moira has taken up the human identity of Moira Lyn.
The son of Princess Taenya, Prince Zelphar ruled over the Little Court of Wales before being disposed alongside his mother.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Maeryn rules over the Little Court of Cornwall. While not a bad ruler, Princess Maeryn is more interested in socialising than running her realm. Maeryn likes to spend her time engaging in politics and the high life of society.

While the rules have Intellect as the default ability modifier for the Expertise skill, I'm wondering if that is the best ability to be associated with it. Unsure of what ability to associated with the Expertise: Maid skill (I'm currently leaning Agility), I have decided to ask you guys for your opinions on the matter.

Awareness (time / sense of something being off), agility (flexibility and balance), stamina (time?)

Good news the rules cover you Skills – d20HeroSRD
Article:
The ability modifier for Expertise is typically Intellect, but some areas of expertise may call for different abilities, perhaps depending on the task involved. For example, a technical expert might rely on Intellect to answer questions and handle day-to-day procedures, but need Dexterity to perform the actual functions of the job. Performance skills, such as acting or music, may rely on Presence. The GM sets the ability modifier as needed for the specific Expertise check.

Feel free to change what stat it keys off of if it doesn't make sense for the situation... But its probably better to keep it on Intellect if you were doing something like "How good did you maid over the whole week"

Knightfall VI
[X] Mystic Wardrobe. Gift the ability to change her outfit into any other outfit at will including strengthening her attire and the protection it provides.

In the end, you decide to go for your initial idea of giving Sapphire Squire the ability to change her outfit at will into any other outfit within reason, something you decide to call the Mystic Wardrobe. This is something you could normally do, but the time of year allows to add more power to it, allowing Sapphire Squire to turn her clothing into what is effectively armour.

It wouldn't be strong armour, but it would be unnoticeable until the clothing starts providing your squire from more harm than they should be capable of. You are sure that Sapphire Squire will appreciate this given how her costume has been left in ruins twice now and the added protection should serve her well. Beyond combat usage, you are sure that a girl like your squire should find plenty of ways to benefit from the Mystic Wardrobe.

As always, life goes on and Redcoat's defeat has dominated the news. It is not surprising given the killer's infamy as the man has not been shy about taking credit for his many assassinations and murders. The main change for you is that you are suddenly thrown into the centre of public attention.

You are known to lawmen and criminals of London rather well and none that live in Whitechapel or the neighbouring areas doubt your existences or abilities, but you do not have much in the way of a public presence. While rare, vigilantes do exist and most major cities have at least one so while you are a curiosity, most do not care about you unless they are interested in the subject or your actions interfere with their lives.

But now your name is known across the whole kingdom and beyond as your name is tied to Redcoat's downfall. Not only was it your hand that took him down and you the one that handed him over the authorities, but you were his target and the one he was actively hunting when he got arrested. To make things more interesting, knowledge of your magical nature or belief that it is real are not common outside of the those that regularly interact with you one way or another.

It is a mess given how some believe in your magic while others scoff at the idea of it being real, but it is not a mess that you need to worry about. Your concerns are in London and those that you need to worry about are already well aware of what you are capable of. While you might get some extra attention, that is nothing new as your actions have already brought the likes of Windstrike and Redcoat to London.

When it comes to the aftermath of your victory over Redcoat, the killer's trial is the thing that draws your attention the most. Unlike other trials, Redcoat's conviction isn't in doubt thanks to his many, many crimes. The question isn't if he will be punished, but what his punishment will be.

But ultimately, it is all in the background for you. Something interest and perhaps worth keeping an eye on, but nothing that affects your day to day life.

"So who is the girl?" asks Inspector Brown at one of your regular meetings.

"You will need to be more specific," you reply, "There are several individuals that you could be referring to."

"That girl that Redcoat claims fought alongside you," clarifies Inspector Brown, "The one in blue that has been spotted patrolling and fighting alongside you."

"That would be Sapphire Squire," you tell him, "She entered my service after forcing Redcoat's flight when he first attacked me. She has proven herself by fighting alongside me against Redcoat and I have no problem with her status as my squire."

"How old is she?" demands Inspector Brown, "The kid can't be an adult."

"She is old enough to be a squire," you answer, "I do not know the specific as she has a secret identity and I have not pried into the details of it."

"Secret-of course, she does," says Inspector Brown, "I can't say I blame her or disapprove of that, but I don't like that you got a kid out there fighting criminals."

"It isn't like I can stop her," you reply, "I recruited her because when she was already going out. Even if I was to cut ties with her, she would still go out and seek to bring justice to the streets."

"I still don't like it, but I'll admit that I can't see a better solution," says Inspector Brown with a sigh after a moment of silence, "At least as your squire she gets training and protection. Just keep her safe Fairy Knight and good lord does it feels weird to call you that."

Mess is your foe, chores are the mission and the arsenal of cleaning tools are your weapons while your black dress with its white apron your armour. You have been hired as a maid and you will serve as one valiantly. Duty is duty and you will carry out your responsibilities as a maid with the same diligence that you carry out your responsibilities as a knight.

The house is large and while much of it goes unused, that just means that there is more cleaning to do. It will take you some time to go clean out the entire building, but when you do, it will just be a matter of keeping the dust and cobwebs from returning. You look forward to that day for you shall triumph over the villainous dust and the evil cobwebs.

Rooms aren't the only thing that you have to clean for while you do not cook, you do take over the job of cleaning the dishes, cutlery and other items used in the cooking and eating of meals. And once you have proven your glory at cleaning, Amar even lets you begin to wash the clothing, something you take to with great vigour.

You find it intriguing how regular people have different articles of clothing that they must clean after wearing and store while they are not in use. It is not something that you have ever had to concern yourself with as you can just pick your outfits by swapping into Torlyn and then back out into your outfit of choice.

Perhaps you could try doing that yourself now that you are earning an income?

You find yourself both excelling and enjoying your job. You won't deny that you had a few doubts when you first accepted the job, but you decide that you like being a maid. Perhaps a less pleasant or accommodating employer might deter you from the job, but Gareth Wallis is a good and understanding man and even then, you have nothing against the job itself. No, you enjoy cleaning, you enjoy looking after the house and you have fun doing your job. You imagine each room in need of cleaning as an enemy fortress to take while each item of clothing that needs cleaning is another foe to defeat. Many people, including the rest of your family, might consider servant work to be demeaning for a princess such as yourself, but you find it to be extremely satisfying.

"Happy Christmas," says Sapphire Squire upon arrival as your squire gracefully lands on the rooftop where you have agreed to meet, "Sorry it took me a while to show up, I needed to find a good time to get away. And speaking of which, I hope this is quick because if I don't get back soon, I'm going to be in a tone of trouble."

"It will be quick," you inform her, smiling at the girl from beneath your helmet, "I have a gift for you."

Calling upon the ritual you have performed in advance, you target your squire with it, letting the powerful magic flow into her and infuse itself with her very being. It is a bit of light show with swirling green-gold magic and a flash of white and blue. Recoiling from it, Sapphire Squire jumps back as she futilely tries avoid the magic.

"What the-what did you just do?" demands a startled Sapphire Squire, "What the heck Fairy Knight? What just happened to me?"

"That was my Christmas gift," you answer, "By using Christmas and the Winter Solstice as focal points to channel more power than is normally available, I was able to come up with abnormally powerful ritual to infuse you with a magical ability."

"Wait, wait, wait," cuts in Sapphire Squire before you can explain what her new power is, "Did you just shove a bunch of magic in me without telling me? To give me magical powers."

"Yes, that sums it up," you confirm before deciding to explain how the Mystic Wardrobe works to her, "Your new power-"

"Can we just clear something up first?" interrupts Sapphire Squire, cutting you off mid sentence with an agitated wave of her hand, "Please don't do magic on me without getting my agreement or at least telling me first, especially if it is permanent. I trust you and magic is cool and all, but just ask permission first before using it on me. Please."

"While I thought you would enjoy the surprise, I will shall endeavour to make sure that you are aware and knowledge about all magic I use on you in the future," you promise her, noting how nervous and unsure your squire is, "I shall explain to you the new ability that I have given you?"

"Yes please," answers Sapphire Squire, "Magical powers are cool, I just want to know about them beforehand and to be given them with my agreement."

"Noted," you say before breaking into the explanation.

Your squire listens eagerly as you explain to her how the Mystic Wardrobe works and give her a brief tutorial on how to use it. As expected from someone of her intellectual prowess, Sapphire Squire quickly grasps how to use her new power. A few tests reveal to you that your squire is a redhead, but by making sure that all of her outfits have a mask as part of them, Sapphire Squire continues to keep her identity a secret.

"So I would stay and chat longer, but I got to go," says Sapphire Squire after a few minutes, "I can't be away too long without drawing suspicious and, actually, I don't need to worry about changing back into regular clothing, but better safe than sorry."

"I understand," you tell her, "My time is more flexible than yours and I get the impression that I have less commitments than you do. If you wish to continue this at a later day where you have the spare time, I shall do my best to oblige you."

"Thank you for the present Fairy Knight," says Sapphire Squire, "It is definitely my best Christmas present."

"Happy Christmas and good fighting," you tell her.

Sapphire Squire turns to go before pausing in hesitation. Making up her mind, she spins around and runs up to you. She wraps her arms you and squeezes to give you a hug before running off, humming to herself.

With a smile on your face, you watch your squire go before making your own exit in bird form.

"I'm not sure which I find harder to believe," says Lydia as the young woman watches you clean up the dishes, "Fairy Knight being a maid or a maid like you being the Fairy Knight."

"What is so unbelievable about me being a maid?" you protest, giving your housemate a mock glare, "I find cleaning to be fun and enjoy my job."

"But you're supposed to be some fairy princess," replies Lydia as she shakes her head, "You stomp about the streets beating bad guys, but then you just turn about and do a bunch of servant work. Wait a moment, you are a servant. How does being a servant fit in with you being a princess and a knight?"

"I enjoy cleaning and I have no problems helping others," you answer, "My titles do not make so arrogant that I turn my nose up at doing chores."

"But couldn't you be an actress or something," says Lydia, "I get me being a waitress, but you could totally be something other than a maid."

"Ignore Lydia, Tam," says Ellen from another room, "I for one am glad that you got a job that you enjoy, especially since you not only pay rent now, but you clean things up around the house."

"I am glad that I am able to contribute around the house after so long," you tell them, happy with how your life is in the mortal world as the year comes to an end and you finish your first year in exile.

And so this arc and the in-game year come to end and you have a time-skip to get some upgrades before Fairy Knight faces her first adventure of the new year. I'm not sure if I have mentioned it before, but I will begin to introduce more superpowered characters and characters which have supernatural or extraterrestrial origins. This includes other PL10 characters and so far, Fairy Knight has only faced foes who at PL9 at most.

In the update, I have mostly covered social stuff and showing Tamara's main social connections and obligations with a couple rolls. The first was to convince Inspector Brown to go along with the underaged sidekick while the second was to see how well Tamara takes to her new job. And boy did Tamara take to her new job.

Anyway, pick your upgrades and actions so we can go into the next adventure.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

I definitely want to give her this, that's actually pretty major. Reducing her need for food, water, and sleep could free up a lot of time (and money) small bits that add up to something really effective.

[X] [Power] Improve your magical skillset.
-[X] [Power] Focus on developing your repertoire of minor spells by improving the existing spells. Increase Magic Spells to 3 Point Power Array with 1 Alternative Effect.

Three point power array boops it to the point that these are powers rather than just features

[X] [Squire] Enhance your squire's Mystic Wardrobe.
-[X] [Squire] Improve the amount of protection that it provides. Sapphire Squire gains Protection 2.

Honestly I don't really want to be using magic to boost SS. Mechanically it just gives her all the same counters that we have already which is bad for a team. Narratively it's kinda boring, I'd rather see Tamara working as a mentor to help SS grow in her own right rather than just going poof now you are like me.

Hmm, I see your point. Do you have any suggestions for an alternative way of doing things? I didn't want to have too advanced technology for the era in play and Sapphire Squire has limited resources to come up with better gear so I decided to have upgrades come from Fairy Knight's magic. I suppose training for new talent-based powers could work, but I don't see how the players could choose that unlike Fairy Knight choosing what magical upgrades to give her squire. I suppose Fairy Knight could choose to give training to her squire, but I don't see how that would relate into power upgrades for Sapphire Squire. Something to think about and if you don't like the current way of doing things, I would like some suggestions on how alternatives would work.

On a related now, I'm thinking of splitting off the skill boost actions from the rest of the life actions so you don't get too powerful too quickly.

Honestly you could just remove magic from a lot of the training options.
-[] [Squire] Use your innate magic to hone her muscles and strength. Sapphire Squire gains Strength.
-[] [Squire] Use your innate magic to hone her endurance and constitution. Sapphire Squire gains Stamina.
going to
-[] [Squire] Walk her through the exercises the knights used to hone their muscles and strength. Sapphire Squire gains Strength.
-[] [Squire] Walk her through the exercises the knights used to hone their endurance and constitution. Sapphire Squire gains Stamina.
For example.
Other things you could do would be move training options like getting and giving advantages out of activities and into this category. So we agree on that. I also don't like that it means the mechanically optimal strategy is to never talk to people just grind skills so removing bad incentives is another plus for this change.
If its a precedent you're happy with setting (And I'm not sure I'd go for it personally) we could create enchanted items for her. But then you need to deal with us trying to do the same for Tamara and the list grows even more.
And we can just have things where she's done something of her own accord without Tamaras prompting such as improving her gadgets. This vote is a meta one already so not everything has to be driven by the MC.
These might look like:
The Oshha your Oshha could be said:
-[] [Squire] You spend a very boring few afternoons helping her with a problem about her gauntlet's crank. You're meant to be the Knight, why are you the assistant! Improves Sapphire Squire's Gauntlets.
-[] [Squire] You don't see her for a few nights, by the time you're worrying she's back with a grin. Apparently she had a Eureka moment on a smoke bomb she was working on. Clearly your lessons about stealth are rubbing off... you may not be the best role model. Sapphire Squire gains Concealment Attack.
-[] [Squire] You enchant her Boomerangs to always strike true. Yeah, I couldn't think of what to say here. Sapphire Squire's Boomerangs gain Improved Accuracy

-[] [Squire] Use your innate magic to improve her resistance to diseases and poisons. Sapphire Squire gains Immunity 1 (Disease) and Immunity 1 (Poison).
-[] [Squire] Use your innate magic to change the basic needs of her body. Sapphire Squire gains Immunity 1 (Thirst & Starvation) and Immunity 1 (Need for Sleep).
Dropping ones like these entirely as they seem a little weird and creepy and maybe something waiting for a social link upgrade before she'd trust us to them. Also the fact that our Innate magic can affect others seems counter intuitive. Is it making her part Fairy?

Oh and please cut down the general options. Perhaps we could turn it into a skill tree where you need to get one thing to unlock other like
Understand -> Speak or Speed ->Quickness

I really like the idea of gaining ranged lightning attack, would really jump around using the metal armor and weapons of our enemies.

Learning modern tech would have to wait, I prefer we boost our Investigation skills since our takedown of the infamous Redcoat would cause criminal groups to cover their tracks.
Since we will be taking on organized crime, cutting through lots of people fast is needed to stop their bosses from fleeing but honesty its weird that our squire know a lot of skills since she's just got recently.
A Knight driving sounds like fun, hoping we could use criminal vehicles against them by running them over or crashing into their stronghold packed with high explosive.

Can you explain how that work?
I can do it if you like.

Arrays are a alternate way of having powers. It links them so that instead of having all of the powers at once you only have one at a time. However the benefit is that you only pay the price of the highest cost power in the array + 1 point for each extra power.

This is used to represent niche power tricks and things you can do, but don't necessarily do often. Think Super-man back when he could knit. Flight, Strength, Eye Lasers are all different powers but Super-Kiss, Super-Makeup, Super-Baking and all those other dumb things go into a single array.

Ah so let me get this right so in short, it unify all these minor powers into one that it cost 1 point which free up from constantly using + 1 point for each of the minor powers?

Kinda, they don't have to be minor and are less cost efficient when they are.

So right now we've got an Array of 2 Powers which each cost 1 point for a total of (1+1) 2 Points worth of power. So we're not actually saving any points for setting it up this way.

Ideally we would have higher ranked powers so that if we stored 5 pt powers in the array it would save us points as rather than cost 5*(the number of powers) it would cost 5+1*(the number of powers -1).

The two votes we have for upgrading our Array are +2 powers (Alternate Effects) added to it or +2pts to the strength of each power in the array. And I'm voting to upgrade those powers.

Fair. Innate magic is the in-universe way that Tamara gets access to more power points for her powers. The way it works in-universe more a high status fairy like Tamara naturally generates excess magical power that they can use to permanent improve themselves or other people or other things. As for making Sapphire Squire or a non-fey into part fairy? I guess sort of, but not by much. It would added some extra stuff to her spiritual/mental/physical structure so she wouldn't be 100% human, but we're looking at making her maybe 1% Fairy or 0.5% Fairy. So technically, but insignificant for the most part and thinking about it, Sapphire Squire is already part fairy thanks to the Mystic Wardrobe. Regarding trust, Sapphire Squire already trusts Fairy Knight (even if the latter arguably has yet to earn that much trust) as a fan trusting their idol.

I might do that. I'm just worried about limiting the player ability to choose your progression and railroading you down certain paths. Will comment on your other ideas in a bit.

but honesty its weird that our squire know a lot of skills since she's just got recently.

Sapphire Squire is a prodigy and the only thing holding her back is social norms. Even then, she has founded a way around those social norms through Fairy Knight. It is also important to note that while Sapphire Squire might have just started out, she has likely been preparing for it or something similar in nature for longer than she has been active as a vigilante.

Can you explain how that work?
Ah so let me get this right so in short, it unify all these minor powers into one that it cost 1 point which free up from constantly using + 1 point for each of the minor powers?

Pretty much. You pay for the cost of one power and then for the price of one point, you can add an alternative effect to create an array. Each alternative effect is a different power that costs the same amount of points as the first. The downside of this is that you can only use one power in an array at once so if you have an array of a teleport power, a ranged attack power and a protection power, you can only use one per a turn. Another version of an array is using the dynamic alternative effect, which costs two points for a dynamic alternative effect, but you can mix and match between different dynamic alternative effects in an array up to the points limit of an array.

Below is the array that Redcoat used as an example. He has crippling strike, but one is linked to close attacks while the other is linked to ranged attack. He pays the full cost of the close attack one and then pays for the ranged attack version as an alternative effect for a single point, creating an array. He gets the second power cheaper, but can only use one of them at once. It is less of a problem for Redcoat, but if for example, you have your magic as an array, you might end up having to choose between using your teleport spell or your fireball spell in a turn.

Crippling Strike (Talent): 11 Point Array with 1 Alternative Effect
-Close Crippling Strike: Affliction 9 (Resisted & Overcome by Fortitude; Impaired/Vulnerable, Disabled/Defenceless), Limited Degree, Extra Condition, Linked to Close Attacks (Variable Descriptor),
-Ranged Crippling Strike: Ranged Affliction 9 (Resisted by Fortitude & Overcome; Impaired, Disabled), Limited Degree, Linked to Ranged Attacks (Variable Descriptor),

These might look like:

Yeah, I believe I will re-write some of the more normal actions to be more mundane training that might be boosted in magic nature. At least for the normal stuff. Stuff which is beyond the limits of the human body or technology will require magic to get.

I will split the stat increasing options into a more limited category so as you say, you aren't forced to grind skills at the expense of other things due to mechanical optimisation. I won't be giving options to create magical items until Fairy Knight gets the Artificer advantage.

I am also going to take your suggestions for having the options being to pick what Sapphire Squire does on her own time rather than something initiated by Fairy Knight. I've done similar things in the quest.

I have updated the latest vote to include new changes and a slight change to how it is formatted. As a result of these changes, I am going to be re-setting the word hence the temporary threadmark (@Dark as Silver @Jrin @Varano) I also realised that at 1.6k words, the vote options may need spoilering.

Focusing on set up and consolidation here. Training our sidekick to fight, setting up a base of operations, getting a feel for current events, making sure our whole circle is integrated and cooperating.

For those wondering, in-character Sapphire Squire's preferred choices would be increased intellect because she wants to be smarter and has no idea how to increase the intelligence she was born with outside of literal magic, shapeshifting to go with her Mystic Wardrobe so she can properly disguise herself for vigilante work and she can play dress up as book characters while her third choice would be getting rid of her basic needs so she can do secret squire stuff instead of sleeping.

Do note that these are the favourite choices from the biased perspective of fourteen and a half year old girl whose newest hobby is to dress up and fight crime under a fake name alongside a magical woman so don't necessarily take them as gospel on what the best options are.

This is true, the best option is that she stops getting shot!
This hasn't changed much of my choices. Except I'm dropping Defensive Attack in favour of Gareth Interactions. I don't know if that new or if I just missed it because the options are so freaking long, but I'd like to meet the old guy more than I want give Sapphire Defensive Attack... And I want Takedown because even if its utterly useless 90% of the time, its broken the other 10%.

It is new. If you are working for a retired politician who knows your secret identity, you should be able to learn some politics from him. Especially since you are on good terms with him for bringing the killer of his grandson to justice.

Post-hunger and post-sleep sounds amazing. The ability to pursue whatever your heart desires in time is big.

Set this stuff up for Sapphire Squire to potentially pick up Gareth as a "grandpa" and rig up a Batman Beyond dynamic except with Alfred and Kid "Batman" girl, whose name (probably?) isn't Terry.
