You know, I'm seeing a lot of comments on how Armsmaster is overreacting. Things like "It's short-ranged" or "It's temporary". But the Good doG having a Master effect...

Well, there was a Nice Guy once too. And he just wanted to be friends...

Well, here's the thing. There's being prepared for the worst while hoping for the best and then there's paranoia. I'd guess that Armsmaster naturally leans towards Paranoia.

The bugs on the compound are still present, and I'm guessing they're still monitoring right? I wonder about the reaction of whoever the current monitor on duty is to the granny madness that just occurred...

"Oh god.... I hope she survives that."

Seeing the troop of grannies preparing Taylor for her meeting with Lung, I guess the hubbub of the prep(because grannies are loud, especially when they are together) might spread the rumors that they are preparing to marry off Taylor to Lung. I mean, if someone asked "What's the occasion?" then someone answers "They're readying the Miko for Lung." or something of that sort, I won't be surprised that people will mistook that for something else.

Then the rumors reached the Protectorate...:drevil:

Datcord Says: 18
Wha-hoo! Let's rumble!

The canine stumbled, missing a step at the sound of the dreaded B-word. She whined.
That... is adorable.

The fact that her wolf friend was possibly an alcoholic didn't bother Taylor so much as wondering who would sell alcohol to a wolf.
I'm torn between hoping Sunny just wanders into various liquor stores in the area, picks out the booze, buys it, and wanders back out... and hoping she just appears next to Oni Lee any time she decides she needs another bottle and STARES at him until he gets her one.

Hopefully Sunny hadn't jumped into the fountain feeding the chozubachi. Again.
Sunny: "I'm helping!"

Taylor stared, then shook her head and went to retrieve her apron and dog brush.
Now, is that a brush for dogs, a brush made OUT of dogs, a brush for painting dogs, a brush shaped like a dog, a brush-

Sunny lifted her head and pushed against Taylor's hand, interrupting her thought. The girl smiled, just a little, and scratched at the red markings that had spread over the wolf's neck.
*narrows eyes* I think this bit confirms that Taylor can tell what Sunny's markings mean. At least a little. Or at least what it means when she can see them.

"I'm guessing other than not hosting a tea party for a gang leader? Hm…"
"I am NOT going to call myself 'Mrs. Snooglebottom-" Above Lung, thunder rumbled in an absolutely clear sky. "-unless I get the teacup with the bunnies on it!"

Sunny barked happily from under her big, feathered hat.

a procession of little old ladies. On segways. Sunny's jaw dropped open. The wolf looked up at Taylor, eyes wide.

"I am not buying you one. Don't even think about it." Whiiiiine.
First babies, now little old ladies....

Dragon eyed her friend for a moment more,
*coff*voyeur*coff*

"Skipping leg day, Colin?"
And now I'm going to be hearing Dragon using Bro Speak for the rest of the day. ("Bro, that's some sweet nanocircuitry!")

"Chessman said he wasn't confident enough in his knowledge of her psychology to provide an accurate litmus test to compare her to." Dragon spent a few microseconds running code for a wince. Colin caught the slight motion of her avatar out of the corner of his eye and nodded, expression grim. "Yeah, that's about right."
*wince* When even ARMSMASTER thinks you're a shitty dad....

It seemed like it might be useful to check on Chessman's personnel files and compare them to published psychological data.
"Um... Dragon?"

"Yes, Director Armstrong?"

"Since Dr. Yamada was here this week, I showed her those files you wanted her opinion on...."

"And?"

"Well... she's curled up in the corner of her office, sobbing and muttering about finding, and I quote, 'the Holy Grail'."

"...of course she is. I wish I could get drunk."

"Colin, can I ask you something?"

"Of course."
"Do you like movies about gladiators?"

Her friend focusing on one cape was unusual, when it was his policy to be ready for as many as he could name. Dragon wanted to know why.
Armsmaster is obviously a cat person. (He had the ears surgically removed.)

He frowned. "Even now I keep thinking of it as a dog, when photographic evidence proves otherwise."
"It's a chicken! A giant chicken!"

Colin had ceased working on his project, and his fingers worried at the tool in his hands. His gaze was distant, and his voice very quiet. "I just felt like… it was okay. Everything was going to be okay."
And that's how Colin knew that the "dog" was capital-E EVIL! How dare it make him feel hope! Only something truly monstrous would do THAT!

How about begging the alcohol off of actual alcoholics so they can't drink it?

Inspiring Hope is probably one of the stronger Master effects you could get in Worm. Imagine the Teacher like cults you could set up!

(No but seriously, where else are they going to get it? it's probably addicting too)

Who wouldn't?

She's just going to get on the Internet and buy one herself with Danny's credit card, you know. Danny will, of course, notice this and worry that his little girl is getting drunk and riding around town on a Segway vandalizing everything... with her lunch buddy Oni Lee.

Typical father problems, you know.

"He doesn't really touch his PTO, just lets it bank up. Then any rollover for the year gets paid into his personal budget for combat miniatures. I think he's even imported a few things from Aleph, for a rainy day. It's not cheap."
I knew I wasn't the only one who suspected Games Workshop here.

His gaze was distant, and his voice very quiet. "I just felt like… it was okay. Everything was going to be okay."
This isn't a compulsion. This is an accurate observation combined with God-tier puppy therapy. Ammy's power is to make everything be okay.

*wince* When even ARMSMASTER thinks you're a shitty dad....
No, when even Armsmaster thinks you spend too much time at the office...it might be time for some therapy.

Let me ask you one simple question: What was buried deepest in Pandora's box?
