I actually made a happy "Eeeeee!" sound when I saw that this updated.

The Good Dog strikes again! That and the "I know a guy" were the highlights of this chapter for me. A tea ceremony for Lung sounds daunting, I do not envy Taylor.

Thanks for sharing this story with us!

Dear lord.... all my YES!

Man, this came right as I was getting into rereading something... and now I get to go into the rereading happy. Thank you. This is really fun. Can't wait to see more shenanigans... maybe get Piggot there for the Tea Ceremony?
Anyways, Cheers!

And another block is renovated, with a lick of paint.
Why do I see this becoming a habit?
Do wonder how Kaiser/E88 will react to this, though?
On the one hand..., but on the other...

We've got three viewpoint here, and all of them have this a strange intersection of parahuman activity and simple slice-of-life. It's just wondrous. Only Go Gently has ever managed it this well.

Also, I look forward to Yuuta's grandmother getting seen by the surveillance. After all,
who would be better than the local tyrant.
I get a weird kick out of imagining Yuuta's grandma admonishing Lee and/or Lung for something, and them instinctively obeying for cultural reasons. Armsmaster, not understanding, could start to think the ABB is actually run by a cabal of old Japanese ladies. That would really cause headaches for Piggot.

Keep it coming, UnwelcomeStorm. And I hope to see the results of your tea research soon!

This story is one of the most bizzare things I have read. Not that it doesn't make sense or something, it's how well it is playing along that makes it surreal to read.

Like watching a bunch of bank executives perfectly play "four seasons" on improvised redneck instruments

Well, the Two Cellos are two guys that look like Sam and Dean that play music.

Taylor and Lung sat across from each other, vapors from the tea rising into the air. It was a tense moment, but so far Taylor hasn't screwed up and Lung hasn't swelled or grown.

The paper-thin veneer of serenity was torn by the arrival Armsmaster and the protectorate, armed and demanding they both surrender.

Taylor purses her lips, shaking, but her voice is firm.

"There will be no violence here, Armsmaster."

The man in blue did not notice the heavens shift above him as he shifted his stance, heedless of her words.

Chessman, back at the Rig, felt his heart sink.

"Why don't you take a seat, Armsmaster."

"I-"

I think he has yet to notice at all. As far as we know both the PRT and the ABB are keeping it quiet for their own reasons, and it helps that for once the people itself want to protect the parahuman is question so there has yet to be a shocking cover in the newspaper or a new thread in PHO.

Frankly I don't think that the PRT would be able to press charges against Taylor even of they wanted to. After all I can assure you that the locals would praise her efforts and even the city might not want to call vandalism an urban renewal project that saves them quite a lot of money. On the other hand with Chessman on their side they don't need to play hardball, they're already won the legal battle by default.
