So, why I'm imagining Skidmark end up in particular place in Memphis, Tennesse, having no idea how he got there, with his sore, blistering legs being tended by old Japanese man... in Elvis garb. Said man also somehow talked down some PRT agents, some other governmental agents, some people with formal suits, people in less-than-formal suits, and guys in strange costumes. Not cape costume, thankfully.

Of course, the fact that when talked down the last two groups, he begin to pull a katana and showing his credensials in asskicking helps a lot :V.

Then night came, there are some big ruckus, but somehow, the place is calm. Then said old man walked inside, his katana stained with... something, and somehow, Skidmark knew that: no way in hell he mess with this old man, and that he is safe in his care.

(Just rambling at the moment)

Wait, does Lee and the rest of the ABB know Danny is Chessman?

Because if they do not, well that's another bomb coming their way. The Overprotective Dad Bomb. Pretty sure Danny has been counting days on when he's going to confront Lung about him hitting his kid and Oni Lee's relationship with his daughter. That day is coming rather close now that his identity has been outed.

confirmation that Taylor can see Amaratsu's Divine Markings. Wonder when she will find out nobody else can see them.

I think this is the fifth time Taylor has described Sunny as having red markings. It's always understated, buried in the paragraph and never mentions that they seem to be growing.(You're awesome, author-sama.) From forehead to face to neck(?) to chest (?) to shoulders now, I think. Is this part of a progression/leveling system in the game, with believers or something? I've never played it.

Hmm... been too long since I re-read this. Next on the list I think.

In-game the markings are just a sign of her Divine nature. They disappear when you are out of ink, which is the player's limit on use of her painting abilities. Almost constantly there for a player, but unseen to all but a couple highly spiritual or supernatural characters. Incidentally the gods who she left her powers to, also have similar markings. Not really tied to believers, you earn praise (mainly by bribing animals with food) as currency for upgrading skills.

Her entry on the game's wiki has a Gallery near the middle.

Not really, though Shiranui (Her full power forma) has more marks iirc.

It's not 100% confirmed yet I think. What the media would have reported is that Chessman was in the area, and was exceptionally aggressive against a bunch of thugs committing home invasion on the Hebert residence. It might imply a familial connection, but it could also imply that Chessman took exception to capes being attacked in their homes/civilian identities.

The thugs might confess to seeing Danny use chessman's powers, but the PRT sure as hell won't let that get around.

I love the trope. Unfortunately the ONLY other fic I know of that uses that trope is Harry Potter fic called make a wish.

TLDR Harry doesn't think he'll survive voldemort and wants to live before he dies. So he goes on vacation under a sep field that's just strong enough for people to to see him as Harry Potter. In stead a certain Mr Black travels the world.

Hilarity ensues. (And yes, the increasingly improbable and hilarious events do have a perfectly plausible explanation by the end of book one.)

Man I'd love to see more like that, and this fic.

Of cours this fic is somewhat more adorable and less hysterical. This one just feels good man.
There's actually a movie about that- The Man Who Knew Too Little. An idiot accidentally takes the place of a secret agent, and he thinks it's all a game. Everybody else thinks he's a bat-shit insane, but unbelievably talented spy. He never figures it out.

Okay, so! This is where I get nitpicky and no doubt annoy someone, somewhere with my nitpickiness. If it is you, @UnwelcomeStorm, I apologise in advance.

Emas is wrong, because quite simply, the Japanese language does not pluralise. So it should be one Ema, two Ema, three thousand five hundred sixty two Ema. A few Ema, a lot of Ema, many Ema. Etc, etc, until I finish running this example into the ground.

I think 'drug' in this context is technically correct, but I personally always find it disorienting to see 'drug' used as a form of 'dragged'...

Depends on your dialect, in both cases.
'drug' for 'dragged' is acceptable in some English dialects. In most it is not.
Many (most) dialects of English don't like null marking plurals in general, aside from a few standardized exceptions. Others, like my own, will happily do so, so long as the stress pattern and surrounding sentence structure are right.
Oddly, if I pronounce 'Ema' as I would if reading it in the middle of a sentence and unaware it was Japanese, it fits the pattern for a null marked plural in my dialect. But if I know it's Japanese and pronounce the vowels accordingly, that shifts the stress in such a way as to cause it to require an 's' for its plural.

...The Man With One Red Shoe?

Only in that one he's being framed as a spy by other spies.

it sounds like she has found a way to manufacture Emma, if only there was one more "m".

Yeah... But the protag there doesn't grow and learn. The fun part of the trope is the lead eventually becoming more than a lucky person. Otherwise there's no payoff.

As for this fic, I found the postit notes and catjumping kinda jarring. Like Taylor learned stuff off screen.
