aren't we already out of timestop though?
Homura went back into time-stop after the attack landed. :p
I don't really remember how this works, but like, if something gets really hot, then it becomes really cold, it gets brittle and snaps, right? I was thinking we could do something like that, so this is fine.
Who even knows when it comes to Witches, much less when it comes to esoteric ones like this one. I mean, maybe it's ability to phase through things would prevent that? In any case, a giant Staby McStabiston should probably kill it; also since Homura's inner monologuing lamented on the fact that pure temperature/elemental attacks aren't really putting the Witch down (even if they're doing damage to it), going with the tried and true method of inflicting piercing damage should hopefully have more of an effect.
I feel like we could stand to have some interactions with a few of our lesser-interacted-with characters, if we think of it and it makes sense for us to do so. I know Rider's pretty high on that list; Twix was amazed just at the fact that Rider could talk, so I definitely think we could do with getting to know him a bit better. Kyouko too, since she's somehow below Oriko and Kirika on our relationship meter, despite us ostensibly having known her for much longer; actually a lot of our friends could do with a bit more Homuinteractions, since we don't seem to hang out with our friends anymore outside of magecraft studies. Maybe Caren as well, if we felt we could help ease her into establishing a familial relationship with Oriko. Bazett lives above us but it doesn't feel like we've done much with her ever since she left to get her new arm.

Don't mind me, I'm just spitballing some things that you, the voting public, can take into account or not if you feel like it.
Oh, just saw this edit. I definitely want to put more of a focus on Homura and/or Archer's interactions with lesser involved characters, like Bazett and Cu, or Rider, especially during the couple weeks of relative peace Homura and co have left before Walpurgis. I've already set in motion an outing for Homura with the Archery Club, so we got that to look forward to as well.

No Caren? Yes, I know we know she can't be fixed, but Homura doesn't. All Homura knows is that Caren is Oriko's creepy cousin who she should maybe be nicer to in the event she decides to get off her ass and actually do her Church job.

Besides, you wouldn't want to make Baby Jesus Kirei sad that we're not including his daughter in the fun, would you?

Of course Caren. And Miyuki. Maybe Rin. Lancer Brynhildr. Just because I didn't mention them in the post doesn't mean I want to disclude them, after all! :V

For Caren specifically, why, they could set up a family get-together. Alongside Caren Oriko would obviously invite Kirika and her own family (Minako) as there's literally no way Oriko and Kirika aren't getting married when they're older, and Minako could ask Archer to go along as her date by proxy. And of course Archer would bring Homura along since she's his daughter. A big happy family get-together at the Mikuni mansion, am I right?

Where does Rin come into play in all of this? Is she invited because, by being Archer's former master, she falls into the category of "family" by proxy?

I never said that Rin would go to such a family gathering, I specifically mentioned that that was for Caren's case specifically. :p

Wasn't sure how long Rin was sticking around, so it's possible she could do something with Homura and co, such as giving a Magecraft lesson to Homura, Hitomi, and Sayaka. For Bazett, she's already possibly going to help Homura with Rune Mystic Codes. For Lancer Cu, fishing of course! Etc. etc.

Well, you had Rin listed alongside Lancer, and since Lancer already lives with Oriko I thought for whatever reason that you were listing off the people that would be going to this proposed Oriko family gathering of yours.

EDIT: And for the record,
as there's literally no way Oriko and Kirika aren't getting married when they're older
Oriko and Kirika could get married right now, if they wanted to. In Japan, girls can get married at 15 with parental consent, so as long as Minako and Oriko's uncle (who would take some heavy convincing, and even then...) were okay with it, they could get married tomorrow. No, what's actually holding them back is not their age, but the fact that gay marriage just isn't legal in Japan in 2011, and won't be until 2015.

Oh, yes- To Enetious and the people who are voting for Enetious, what are we planning on doing once we've beaten this witch? Any other team business to address? Do we want to 'hang out' with the team? Change perspectives to Archer tearing his hair out trying to tutor Kirika and Minako? Go home and hang out with our friends/practice something/get felt up by Assassin/etc?

Well, assuming I don't need to edit it directly into the vote like we didn't have to for the conversation topics, Homura would stick around with the team and Miyuki until Miyuki has to go home, getting everyone used to each other and their company. If that means they all go out to a cafe or something afterwards, so be it. Also taking a peek into Archer's perspective would be nice; I wonder if he or Minako noticed Kirika literally basically "teleporting" for brief moments, even if she was sitting in the same place, considering Kirika isn't time-stopped by Homura's time-stop.

Of course Homura will end up going home afterwards to get kinda tutored by Bazett in the wonders of Runic Mystic Codes, and she'll obviously be felt up by Assassin as per usual. Also dinner and all that. Typical Assassin chatter as well, and maybe some more teaching Assassin how to computer.

Honestly? Giving me something a bit more concrete, and putting it where I can see it, would probably be better for my overall post organising than if you left it freeform right here.
@WanderingTwix, @BoundaryPhantasm, if you want to contribute to this before I ask the big E! to set our after-practice plans in stone, your contributions would be more than appreciated.

Edited the vote for now, and made it into a proper plan. @WanderingTwix @BoundaryPhantasm in case you want to change your votes to the plan name and such.

You edited the wrong vote. We already steamed the witch, now we should be here-

I also have a question about this part of the plan here,
-----[X] CuddleDo the usual with Assassin while showing her the wonders of YouTube and PC games (could just be flash games)
Remember, Homura's never been much of a "gamer girl", and I don't even remember how big of a thing Let's Plays were back in 2011, so I don't know if Homura could just boot up, say, the latest PewdiePie or Markiplier video and show Assassin how other people play the vidya.

-[X] Time-stop, don't bother wasting magical energy projecting arrows and just trace a bunch of Isa runes inside of the Witch's mouth with maximum stopping power and minimum AoE. See if Miyuki can't take a hack at hacking away at the inside of the Witch using her sword before you set up your runes as to not block her exit, while perhaps with her shooting a whole lot of Fire in it after she's tried using her sword (and make sure there's no way for your line to Miyuki to be cut such as via the Witch's teeth, and account for that by using common sense). Resume time a ways away and make sure the immediate vicinity isn't compromised at the time. Time-stop momentarily afterwards after you see the effects of your last barrage.
-[X] After the exercise
--[X] hang out with the team at a nearby cafe and offer to pay for whatever Miyuki's getting (since she snuck out without any funds, presumably) doing some idle chatter and further getting to know Miyuki and Saber and vice-versa
---[X] and after that and when you get back home try and see if you can get taught a but by Bazett about Runic Mystic Codes, and see if you're going about it correctly
----[X] Thank McRemitz-sensei for her time, if she helps you. Even if she doesn't have the time to help you, practice your Mystic Code crafting today anyways.
-----[X] CuddleDo the usual with Assassin while showing her the wonders of YouTube and PC games (could just be flash games)

Would like to contribute more but I can't do it untill this weekend. IRL had been hard on me.

... that I did. Fixed it. 😅
I also have a question about this part of the plan here,

Eh, it'd probably just be a basic flash game that she's basically aware of, or she'd refer her to the Japanese equivalent to old-school Miniclip. Nothing too out there, and it's very casual-esque enough that Homura would probably be vaguely aware of it, if Assassin simply doesn't discover it herself on her own. Also Let's Plays were a huge thing on YouTube in 2011, mostly horror and Minecraft stuff really.

Also Let's Plays were a huge thing on YouTube in 2011, mostly horror and Minecraft stuff really.
In my defense, my memories of 2011 are fleeting at best, and I dislike both Minecraft and horror games so there's no way I would have known that kind of thing was even popular.
Also, we're over here talking about what the English-speaking internet was like in 2011, but Homura's over there being Japanese and knowing even less about what 2011 was like than I do on account of having spent her entire 2011 either in the hospital or repeating the same 45 days too focused on saving Madoka to know what's "hip" on the "net".

Also, do we actually have an idea for the kind of "idle chatter" we want to have with the other girls? Specific topics? Boys, girls, crushes, movies, games, shopping, etc? What's Mami thinking about Kasuga-san; does Miyuki like girls in general or was Komaki just a one-time thing; how's Kyouko liking having a girlfriend; what's everybody's plans for the weekend; etc?

Would like to contribute more but I can't do it untill this weekend. IRL had been hard on me.
Oh man, do I ever know what that's like. If you've got some weekend contributions to make, feel free to toss them out when you've got the time.

Well, Xiao Xiao is- wait, I forgot that it's chinese and it's an animation series with some games inbetween. Still, it's pretty language-free so she could still watch/play it.

Day 37 Chapter 7
[X] Plan Box Wood Casserole

Somehow, despite the grievous wounds dealt by the combined steam attack of you and your partner, the witch is still in one piece; more or less. Nothing major has fallen off or been blown up, and despite the steaming clouds of damage quite literally pouring out of the witch, you have no way of knowing if it's dead or not. It's certainly a resilient witch, you think, but you've fought witches more resilient than this. The clock witch inside the frozen-time labyrinth springs to mind, with the massive amount of firepower required from Tomoe-san in order to finally bring it down. And speaking of Tomoe-san; she should only be able to replicate witches that she herself has faced; so how much firepower did this witch require from her? Is this merely an Elemental imbalance that's not in your favour, or was this witch as resilient for Tomoe-san as well?

"So, if this thing isn't dead yet, do we have a new plan?"

You nod. "Thanks to the steam our attacks have created, there's a lot of water molecules floating around in the air. We're going to use that to skewer the witch on a giant spire of ice."

"Sounds pretty brutal."

"You won't survive for very long if you're concerned with something as foolish as that," is what you want to say, remembering the similar chiding you've given to Madoka and Sayaka over the course of many repetitions; but Nagatsuki MIyuki isn't a girl who needs to be dissuaded from contracting; she is your partner, and a teammate going forward against the strongest witch you've never been able to beat. Being rude won't earn you any points here. "Yes, it is," you say, as you trace several Isa runes in the time-frozen steam surrounding the witch. "But cleanliness isn't a luxury we can afford when we're fighting for what could be our lives."

This next part, you aren't sure if you're doing it correctly; but along the deposition path that the water vapour will take as it forms into your spire, you add an addition path that, if you've done everything correctly, should apply a slight Reinforcement to the spire. Taking several large steps back to avoid being hurt by whatever it is your attack will do to the witch, you turn your shield and allow time to resume, hopefully for the last time. "I'm really sorry about this," you say to Kirika. "I'll try to make tonight up to you somehow."

In an instant, the witch is no more. Your spire of ice, made much larger than you thought it would be due to the large amount of water vapour your steam attack had thrown into the air, instantly tears the witch's head in two, and extends up far enough to puncture through the ceiling of the hall. Nagatsuki Miyuki edges closer to the witch, giving it a few jabs with her saber before asking "Is it... Is it dead? It's not moving, so..."

"I've yet to encounter a witch that didn't die when its head was split in two." The gold and black ribbons forming the witch and its labyrinth peel away, revealing the decrepit interior of the abandoned office building once more. With a wave of your hand, you allow the now-useless spire of ice to melt, leaving a large puddle on the floor with several torn scraps of ribbon floating atop the water's surface. "Come on, that'll be the end of our turn."

Nagatsuki Miyuki follows behind you, but as you leave you can hear her muttering to herself "I'm not really sure what I learned from watching you stop time and do all the hard work, but okay..."

The team is waiting for the two of you outside, and as Tomoe-san crosses paths with you to take her turn as Nagatsuki Miyuki's partner, she asks you "How did everything go?"

"The witch you threw at us was... Unexpected, and more than a little annoying, but not too terribly difficult to beat." Annoying, yes, and no doubt doubly so for Kirika, but not difficult. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you beat it when you fought it?"

Tomoe-san has to pause, stopping to think back however long ago it was that she encountered the witch she threw at you and your partner. "Well, I think that one would have been one of the first witches I ever fought, actually, so... If I'm remembering correctly, I used my ribbons to trap it as it lunged at me so it couldn't move, and then I tightened my grip on it until my ribbons tore it to shreds. It was either that fight, or the one I had the very next night, that convinced me I needed something harder-hitting than just my ribbons if I wanted to survive."

"I see. That would explain it. I doubt I'd have been able to beat it if my only weapons were ribbons."

"Well, it was a close one." Tomoe-san smiles, and says "But that's all in the past now," as she passes you, joining up with her partner to take on whatever witch she's instructed Caster to throw at her.

And once she's done, Mikuni Oriko is up next. You hope there won't be any friction when it's just her with Nagatsuki Miyuki, and no one else in-between.

You wonder how things are going for Archer right now...

"Now, what's the powerhouse of the cell?"

This is only your second night attempting to help Kirika with her homework, and already you've been keyed in to what is easily the biggest obstacle when it comes to helping her. "Uh, Androids 17 and 18?" Namely, that she just doesn't care about school.

"No," you say, tapping the page of her biology textbook, where a big diagram of a cell is prominently labelled and displayed. "It's the mitochondria. I can't believe I have to tell you this when it's right here. Have you ever even looked at your textbook?" Kirika shakes her head. "Don't you care about bringing your grades up at all?"

"I do." Her tone doesn't sound at all like she really does. "I want to bring my grades up so I can be with Oriko again. I just don't care about school. I wish I could just breeze through it so I'd have more time to spend with Oriko."

Minako, who has been quietly sitting beside her daughter, taking notes while you've attempted to be the best teacher you could be for the two of them despite having absolutely no qualifications and being several decades out of school yourself, takes this moment to show just how much she's had it with her daughter's attitude by flicking her ear. Her daughter's cries of shock are punctuated by Minako saying "Be respectful and pay attention when someone is trying to help you. Archer doesn't have to give up time he could be spending with his daughter to help you, but he is; so you will show him the respect he deserves or you will be sleeping on your stomach tonight." Minako sighs and, adopting a less strict tone, says to her daughter "I know you love Oriko so much that you can't concentrate on anything else; I felt the same way about your father when I was your age. But that's exactly why I want you to care about your schoolwork."

Minako bites her lip, and you can see how much it pains her to have to say what she does next. "Because if, gods forbid, you and Oriko break up, I don't want to see your life ruined because you were so in love with her you never took the time to get a good education."

"Mom, that's not going to happen. We love each other too much to ever break up; and besides, Oriko can't get me pregnant, so-"

"I know that!" Minako's pencil snaps in her hand; that's fine, you can fix it for her when she's calmer. With teary eyes, the mother leans over and wraps her arms around her daughter, saying "But you're my daughter, and it's my job to worry about you when I see you making the same mistakes I did." As mother and daughter are hugging out their earlier frustrations, you decide that now would be a good time to brush up on what you're attempting to teach the pair. So, while Minako says "I carried you inside me for nine months, and tried my best to raise you for fifteen years. There's nothing I want more than to see you succeed and be happy. So please, for me, take this a bit more seriously," you're leafing through Kirika's biology textbook, trying to get ahead of where she is to see if anything jogs your memories.

"Alright mommy, I'll try harder, I promise."

"That's my little pumpkin."

Though the daughter pouts as the mother calls her by her hated nickname, Minako and Kirika break on better terms. You offer Kirika a slice of one of the chocolate oranges you got her last night, saying "I know it's stressful, so have something sweet to make it a little easier," as the three of you hit the books once again. "Alright, since we're talking about cellular biology, what does..."

[Archer] Wat do?
[Homura] Wat do?

For Homura specifically, the Wat do? is asking what we should be talking about with the girls once we're done with tonight's exercise. I'll let you all decide what to talk about, but one of the things I'm mandating we address is what Miyuki learned from tonight's exercise. Feel free to contribute your own thoughts about what she learned from each of her goes with the other girls, or leave it blank and let me decide; it's your choice.

For Archer, it's just asking how long we plan to stay/whether we're planning to spend the night, and if there's anything else we want to do or talk about with Minako and Kirika after we're done tutoring them.

[X] Plan Ahnenerbe
-[X] (Homura) Go out with your team to a nice local cafe
--[X] What did Miyuki learn from this exercise?
---[X] How to properly operate with each of the team members individually, even if some members (such as yourself) aren't as synergetic with her alone as you'd have liked. For you in particular, she's learned how to deal with your time-stop shenanigans, has gotten a good idea on how you fight and your capabilities, has witnessed the viability of Runes with the potential of her starting to learn one to expand her repertoire, and she's learned the synergy between your ice and her fire to create deadly swaths of magical steam that could then again be used by you as fuel for better ice constructs and attacks.
--[X] and talk to
---[X] Miyuki
----[X] about what she thinks about working with the Holy Sextet so far, and if she has any concerns about team composition, compatibility, and whatnot
----[X] about whether or not she'd like to start learning a Primordial Rune after witnessing their abilities more in-depth today
----[X] about her well-being, how she's coping, and letting her know that if there's anything you could do to help you'll gladly do so
-----[X] You may or may not be joined in by others of the Holy Sextet in proclaiming your offer of aid
---[X] Kyoko
----[X] asking her about her progress in Sowilo, and bringing up the possibility of them working together to create an incredibly deadly and huge AoE combo attack by combining their Isa and Sowilo attacks sometime in the near future
----[X] about her dating life, and if she has any plans on what she wants to do with your near and dear friend Sayaka in the near future
----[X] about the possibility of Rider ferrying everyone back to Mitakihara, as even if he has to take multiple trips he's most certainly far faster than any simple train
---[X] Mami and Caster
----[X] graciously thanking them for setting up today's training session, as the amount of realism that was present in the training session was incredible and is a real help for helping to integrate Miyuki into the team what with the recent Witch deficit
---[X] Mami
----[X] about her own dating life
---[X] everyone
----[X] thanking them for coming all the way out to Shirome to help make things easier for Miyuki
--[X] and have a proper (if not as homemade) meal as to not trouble Archer with his scheduling constraints, while letting him focus on helping out Minako and Kirika at a healthy pace
---[X] Telepathically inform Archer that he won't need to cook for you tonight as you're eating out with the team
---[X] Offer to pay for Miyuki's portion, as it's likely she didn't anticipate eating out to actually grab her purse/wallet to pay; it's literally the least that you could do and it's a pittance in comparison to the funds Archer "liberated" for you
-[X] (Archer) Stay long enough to tutor them both until it would be detrimental to do so (so when their attention eventually tapers off, for sleep, for food, etc.) and then stick around to prepare some dinner for everybody with Minako afterwards to help everyone wind down
--[X] Do most of the prep inbetween when you're instructing Minako and Kure, such as when they're solving questions, to cut down on the time needed to prepare dinner
--[X] Have a nice family(?) dinner, and stay if they offer for you to stay the night; with Kirika around you don't have to worry about Minako possibly making any moves on you, and it'll give you the chance to cook a nice - read amazing - breakfast for everyone before they wake up tomorrow
---[X] Dream for the first time since you were summoned (so Dream Cycle stuff from Homura's own memories and experiences)

Seriously though, regular steam in sufficient amounts is enough to literally melt people, so magical steam created via potent effects like Homura's Isa and Miyuki's fire could be an incredibly potent weapon; I shudder to think what Homura and Kyoko could do together once Kyoko progresses enough in Sowilo for them to do a massive steam combo attack, and I'm like 99% certain whatever fire that's conjured by Kyoko's Rune would be far more potent and filled with much more Mystery than Miyuki's fire, making it ever the more deadly.

Also let's get ourselves a head start on some Kyoko and Rider content, why don't we? ;)

EDIT: Added in the Archer portion of the vote, and stipulated Homura actually eating out and paying for Miyuki's stuff.
EDIT2: Forgot to add in the Mami dating life portion, added it in

We're not going to ask Mami about her dating life? We already talked her into accepting to take time off for boys, and we know there's a boy who likes her, so are we not going to pester her about her love life?

And are we not going to do anything further with Archer and the Kures? We don't have to, but I just thought as long as he was there...

Good point about Mami, just didn't want to overwhelm you with conversation aside from easier stuff like thanks, since there's already so much dialogue for Miyuki and Kyoko. Will add it in momentarily.

... also completely forgot that we were voting for Archer, give me a few to edit in something. 😅

EDIT: @SVS aaaaand edited. Welp, the vote certainly got a lot bigger.
