In advance, on the tentacle scene, I was going to make a worst case scenario-speculation on Cell. But well... Had to quote reply to this;
Taylor has been researching impeller fields quite extensively. How likely is it that Taylor will only notice when when she's already started budding? I'm willing to bet that Anna and Monica at least receive shards and maybe Kojiro. And then QA goes around telling them to take responsibility for the newborns.

UNOMI and the cores will be tearing their hair out over the WTF!!
Honestly, worst case scenario, it'd fit riiiight into the "Shonen Power-up montage", starting with Coke-Zero having a trauma conga line, being near/proxy enough to QA that he earns 'hosthood'... That will raise a horror story amount of questions. Then the impending horror as some 'invisible dream girl' is maybe seen like a haunted ghost story?

... As much as the looming 'fun' of "in case of Trauma, Valkyrie might end up awakening to something... Also, people are getting brain tumors nearby Hebert... Probably something related to that horrible bunker cult." Especially if it provides power ups, or sudden mood swings towards conflict, or other things...

... But hey, at least it ain't cancer. More a parasyte that's making an archive of their 'being', under a concept. And woe befall if Anna suffers a "Trigger episode", in which case odds are QAylor might scheme to make Anna a sentient/shard herself, once her 'role' in 'the cycle' is done. Or, "Promote Anna to player/character status, what can go wrong?"

(And then Anna wakes up? As a sentient bud? To a horrified 'little girl' flaking pieces of herself to others without notice, until it's far too late. Then panic over sentient concepts/etc trying to influence/conflict engine by proxy... And being obsessive with their Valkyrie Cores.)

EDIT: At a high bar end, there's a chance Coke-Zero could end up harem meeting/influencing Taylor. But in that lens, it's like "Studio Gilgamesh notices a NEW CHARACTER... And makes a stab at Cosmic-Harem horror antics, totally~." To again, their 'take' on the Ayanami Rei expy.

2) Ignoring 1), we don't know if Valkyries can trigger, since triggering requires futher alterations to brainmeats (formation of a Gemma), and the Valkyrie Cores might object to that and 'correct' it.
Do you really think they can stop shard?
3) Anna has already had her 'worst day of her life'. If she manages to trigger now then things have gone horribly, horribly wrong.
Taylor might be capable of setting it to an easy trigger, if there will be a trigger at all.
We also know they can create equivalent but entirely different structures in creatures with nonhuman biology, even creatures made entirely of code, like AIs, because Dragon triggered
In before a core triggers.

They have extensive data and modification abilities with respect to their host. I am not certain if a full brain-reconstruction is possible, but replacing an anomaly with new material ought to be possible. The problem arises that I do not see the core being able to stop the shard from trying again, and regardless of what the shard is capable of, I don't see the dreaming girl wilfully impairing the valkyrie. Depending upon what exactly the automated shard systems are programmed to do, it may devolve into a tug-of-war, with a very brainy rope.

Issue is that as long as a trigger happens shards don't technically need the coronas, with the only thing removing them doing is cause the host to no longer be able to control the granted power.

I suddenly imagining a scene remembering episode with Anna training to use Wave Force

So Anna initiate the process and deeply immersed in it. She stops to use her human eyes and relay on other senses... she noticed the presence of 'Nameless girl'. Realty shifts. Anna was 'invited' to a tea party.

Still, at least the UN had a reasonable explanation for their false rating. It also provided the opportunity for QA to observe other Valkyries in combat and copy all their best weapons before her first semi-accurate rating was properly assigned. It would be rude to ruin someone's dataset by displaying a supposed meteoric rise that did not truly reflect a significant improvement in QA's skills.

Ha, missed this line on my initial read-through. What do you think the chances are of QA's preferred weapon loadout bearing a completely coincidental resemblance to that of a certain ideal Valkyrie, by the time her rating is assigned?

She's just copying the most effective weapons, after all. It's not her fault the best examples all come from the same person.

Whatever else, it would certainly raise questions about how she managed to integrate such advanced weapons so quickly.

It could also end with the shard mastering the core to stop ruining the connection

With the power of Friendship.

She doesn't really need to, though - all she needs is to be able to squeeze in a very tiny cockpit...
I don't know why but reading this made me picture QA transforming into an evangelion Kinda like how power ranger enemies transform into giant versions of themselves combined with how the Mark Nemo forms around Nunnally with Taylor in a doll body inside the cockpit. Que everyone *surprise pikachu face*

Better still, from a purely practical standpoint, no one can really argue that she would be wrong. The 300 aside, Valkyrie equipment upgrades based on need and time, and Anna spent the better part of a decade holding the line all by herself. There probably legitimately aren't any finer examples short of the aforementioned gear of the 300. Anna's surviving Heavy Particle Projector array is kind of awesome. They're more appropriate for something on a battleship, and yet whatever hefty bullshit they use makes them perfectly viable for regular Valkyries, and that's before taking into account a power supply as capable as a fusion reactor. They're awesome, and the UN knows it; that's why they themselves want to get them, because anyone with half a brain gets stars in their eyes at the prospect of having guns like Anna's for themselves. If QA considers the weaponry available for inspiration and has any chance at all, she's going to do what anyone in her position would do and whip up a set of HPP's to add to their frame.

Of course, that would come with some complications, because no one else actually would be in QA's particular position. The UN is trying to reverse-engineer Anna's provided HPP example, and they're not really getting anywhere at all in that endeavour. QA, however, is in the awkward state of being far beyond the mere humans and not necessarily actually aware that producing a Heavy Particle Projector is beyond their means right now despite an outlier indeed doing just that. Too, she has a poor understanding of the typical norms expected of the integration process, having to be outright told of it in the first place. Though anyone and everyone would love to have HPP's, actually integrating a piece of equipment with such complexity would be hilariously impractical for any frames that aren't already themselves high on the complexity level, so there won't be any brand new frames sporting HPP batteries as the new default even if the UN does start mass producing a Heavy Particle Projector model. Regardless, QA may end up with her own shiny new blasty goodness in short order anyway for just not "integrating" them the proper way or helping the process along somehow for finding the otherwise time requirements unacceptable.

That in turn may see people scratching their heads and perhaps getting very worried. If QA manufactures her own HPP model, she may have to make a somewhat inferior version on account of material substitutions much as per her version of the sensor array collaboratively designed by her and Anna earlier (which, incidentally, is thus probably still in a completely different league than nearly anyone else's). That could mitigate the issue of so rapidly integrating high-complexity equipment somewhat, but it'd still raise a lot of questions anyway. Is Symbie perhaps somehow indeed complex enough now to actually make such integration time normal? Cadet Hebert does appear to have racked up an awful lot of time synchronised which could further influence the integration, but her integration of her datapad is on record and completely incongruous with that... though she is also on record as having been drastically lesser in cognitive performance just a short while ago, so... Eh? Maybe they should consider witchcraft and aliens. If they do consider aliens, though, an Antagonist correlation starts looking worryingly reasonable.

Symbie is the most organic frame known and highly anomalous in any case for appearing to perhaps be the first recorded instance of a damaged or incomplete Core. Both Symbie and perhaps Cadet Hebert herself, however, are in working order now and quite possibly repairing/healing further. There is also the note in her file, "Direct absorption from deceased Antagonists initially considered likely." As it happens, the Antagonists have a marked trend of becoming more organic as they go up the scale, with a tank being obviously a tank whether human or Antagonist, but Types blatantly being more sophisticated in their mechanical aspects, and the actual mechanical aspects of higher-level ones eventually blurring the distinction between mechanical and organic outright for raising the question of just what exactly that means when so advanced, in addition to indeed having organic composition likewise getting ever more impressive. So, is there perhaps some correlation there with Symbie? Maybe Cadet Hebert's frame has a high complexity factor in its favour for assimilating parts of Types that may perhaps be responsible for fixing/completing the Core, which is now going on to take advantage of that high level of organic technology and stored mass to indeed become something radically more sophisticated than it was just a bit ago. If, say, she integrated the likes of some Antagonist self-repair suite able to more directly improve upon the frame's present state and more or less graft on reworked high-level Type composition, that might actually explain some things... and there is the matter of Macross to perhaps consider, too.

I don't think QA will copy the HPPs, at least not wholesale, it's just not her style. What's the point in being specialised in multitasking and presumably hacking if you aren't gonna show off. If she uses something like them it's going to be in the form of hundreds or possibly thousands of much smaller models manifesting around her in a cloud that's raining missiles and acting as both a weapon system and interdiction for hostile munitions. Something that might lack in firepower on a per shot basis but deployed to the point of complete insanity if you weren't able to track, coordinate and hack anything and everything in real time.

Also I assume her ID helpfully marks her as friendly, which may cause some issues depending on how good it is at indicating relative position. Best case, she's told to sit still in any Sims involving serious interference as she gives everyone a reference point. Worse case everyone is very confused as they get info about her real position as opposed to the simulated position.

"Why's it cloudy all of a sudden?"
"..those aren't clouds, are they?"
Cue QA flying in with her 300 billion grasshopper-sized drones.

Bonus points if they combine like transformers.
I kid, but still..

Reminds me of Drone Swarm which is like a tower defence game, but you have 32,000 drones which form shapes according to what you draw. Shields, torrents, etc.

Just a giant buzzing ball of death.

Er, that's not necessarily a joke. If QA makes a horde of drones based on Anna's HPP design, they probably do. That was one of the features missed by the Crafting Club. The guns combine. If QA decides to use Anna's battery as inspiration for an alternative platform, that's a legitimate possibility! :D From her standpoint, it may even be quite reasonable. The Heavy Particle Projectors have incredible firepower, sure, but plenty of targets just don't need the full force of it; Anna can adjust the output, but all the same, there's a finite limit of the four available guns firing at any one time no matter how much each one is firing; if that number can be increased, then more guns can go after more targets simultaneously, and they can still merge into smaller numbers of individually greater guns if necessary to better optimise the total possible output.
