That is a fucking terrifying sound. I dare say it is probably a pretty accurate remake. Also, good knowing you Travis, you'll probably die in agony sooner rather than later. Likely when you're trying to justify the retreat, lol.

Goliaths.

Grimm the size of buildings, massive mammoths with white bone tusks and masks. Each step shook the world.

They usually avoided hunters and residences, even normal people. They were old enough and strong enough to be satisfied far away from conflict in general, to avoid being seen. One showing up could just ignore anything below missile or grenade launchers. Low level Dust couldn't phase it, and most Semblances couldn't touch the things. Battle flowed around Goliaths like water around a stone. Towns vanished, villages crushed.

One was a disaster.

There appeared now... dozens.

The Goliath reared back, slamming massive feet covered in white armor onto the smaller fighter... who knocked the attack to the side, rod still held high.

After this and going to Star Wars with extended universe stuff and RWBY presumably with the twin gods, I'm wondering if I was right about the rules about avoding higher beings after all...
No soul transformation sequence? I sort of miss those...

    For everyone else, they were likely referring to 'The Games We Play' by Ryuugi.

    And just in case people are interested, this realm the Grimm are not currently being controlled/directed. It was part of the high cost of travel, and was to ensure he could go somewhere safe to punch things without offending a deity or two.

    I listened to SO MUCH religious music, opera, fan mixes, game music, and read so many posts, threads, DM messages to find this one sound.

    I will be SO bummed if it gets taken down or whatever, because it was exactly what I wanted.

    Doesn't help that every Faunus has ONE animal part only. No ears and tail, one or other.

    So... What is weirder: Elephant with only ears, one with only tusks, one with only trunk?

    Simmy went for Trunk because of all his practice using multiple extra limbs had him prepared for it.

    • If MC wanted to, introducing cheap fusion power and blasters would let massed fire work against the smaller critters. Viable energy weapons with high yields and a generous energy budget means fixed emplacements can just pour on the blaster fire. Or lob energy artillery, or launch torpedo salvos.

    And Star Wars has weapons that scale all the way up to planet crackers so there's always more firepower no matter how big a grimm appears.

    Think the trunk. The tusks and ears will cleave most of his face free while the trunk, depending on the size, ruins the look of it.

    You can probably grab the sound from the video, if not the video itself, with any of the many online video converters, and keep a copy backed up like that.
     
    Starcraft sounds fun and doesn't get much attention in modern stories. I keep thinking it's going to be DOOM, though. ME might also not be bad. I'm sure he'd love to punchsplode a Reaper, and the side goals of trolling people would also be satisfied.
     
    Really wish that you picked another animal feature or another animal entirely because a guy with a trunk for a nose just does not work for a lot of people.

    Sounds like he might need to upgrade his conversion and purifying. It looks like some of Lung's rage might be leaking through. Still, Rwby is a great place to learn to combine the spiritual and tech sides of his soul.

    Meh, bodies are replaceable. Give him some time to scan a few Faunus and Humans and so forth and he can go nuts if he wants too.

    That said, nose hands rock. Ear hands are harder to work with, and Tusk hands can be a bit stiff.

    because of the harem I'd make a few riskier jokes about ivory towers and such but not the place for it.

    I wouldn't mind seeing him go absolutely berserk on the grimm for a while and seeing reactions from everyone as he leaves a blackened battlefield behind.

    also the reaction of commander travis once he realizes they not only survived but that a Very VERY pissed elephant faunus has appeared on the board now that really really wants to punch things and can uppercut's goliaths successfully, well it's gonna be a political travis-ty for him. :3

    also I like the trunk idea another limb to strike them with. :D

    The BB-23 Blaster Cannon can smack down any heavy opposition you face. For portable missiles, that salesman over there has a whole line of launchers to sell you.

    Wow, talk about hostile wildlife. I've never thought I'd recommend something this powerful for colony defense but hey, maybe you need an LCL-1 Light Laser Cannon.
    Good for destroying your enemies and demolishing city blocks.

    ... Are you sure you want to live on this planet? Well, we could whip up an XX-10 Turbolaser Turret for you, maybe you just have an annoying hill you really need to go away.
    Or I can see where this is going, let's go the whole hog and set up a series of W-165 Planetary Turbolasers. Though I'd not recommend you aim it anywhere below the horizon.
     
    Violation of Rule 3: There are much more polite ways to offer criticism, for one thing
    Read through your entire worm part of this story. I absolutely loved it, despite how overused, old, and frankly boring power manipulation is you made it interesting.

    The focus on Narwhal was an excellent romance and it was going pretty swell, all the MC had to deal with was 1 Endbringer a year which considering how much he accomplished in a few months I'd say he was set.

    What killed it for me was your incessant need to validate why he need to move realms. Scion was gone, End Bringers were nerfed (once a year and less death toll), and S9 was less active. So why the fuck would the MC want to risk EVERYTHING over more power when he could gain it easily in worm.

    Then you brought in that pony crap and the romance with it almost wanted me to blow chunks... very disturbing stuff there but each our own I guess. I was hoping you could keep the Pony crap out once that area was done so I skipped ahead. Nope still there.

    Disappointed overall. The impression I was given was that this would be a worm focused fic with the MC traveling around to get more powers to travel back to worm to save the day. Instead it transformed into this abomination where Ponys are flirting with him. Pretty sickening stuff to read.
     
    You said only one animal feature, so why does he have a second one?
    I mean, he already had a giant trunk in his pants... ;)

    And Salem is pretty much fucked, immortality is a con in this situation.

    At most, that means that he has an unawakened RWBY soul already. Plus, Inyusha didn't require him to gain the local power system to have the sequence...
    At least, his Consumption runes made him instantly internalize substantial quantities of ambient aura and made him automatically awaken himself.
    I'm curious what he makes of dust - there's probably little that he has *no* way to do differently, but there's probably lots of situations where it is better than his available substitutes.
