You saw the thing! Took someone spelling it out for me, but my oh my, are the Abyssals up shit creek without a paddle and both arms are broken. It could also allow the two Standards to be rotated back to the States if they wanted.

If they are both coming back...s'about to get real in Hawaii.

I wouldn't say rotate them back permanently. Maybe give them convoy escort duties, so they can shuttle between Sasebo, Hawaii, and San Diego? Get them battle experience, give Pennsy a chance to cool down, and don't keep Ari from her loved ones.

Now all we need to do is scuttle Iowa's hull and we'll have the whole set.

You go ahead and get started on that. I'll just stand way over to the side so when her sisters show up to give you a 16" colonoscopy they don't think I'm with you and give me one too. ;)

*Turns to walk away*

New Jersey: Did you just say we should put a bomb in my big sister's engine room?

Me: N-no...

Missouri: Did you just piss your pants?

Me: ...Yes...

Wisconsin: Then hurry up and tell us who did say it, so we can let 'em know what cordite tastes like.

Me: Sorry, Rampant. *Points and runs away*

Uhhhhhh hey look, burgers! *flees*

But yes, until Iowa's hull is sunk or scrapped ol DJ won't let her out of the locker. Id pay to see her and Yamato show up at the same time though.

Two for the Price of one Eh? YAS! Also makes sense, Whole lotta baddies sent back to the depths recently. Somethin big gonna be back from all that.

As noted on the other thread during Mo's Last Stand, she took seven times her tonnage in Nazibote steel to the bottom with her onscreen. That's going to crack open the door to the afterlife even counting her death. Incidentally, considering the mess that CarDiv One is making of Battleship Row (again), they might have enough sunk Nazis to make a stab at Shinano and Musashi's older sister if that counts for the Japanese summonings.

Iowa: Sisters! I'm back! *Looks to her right in the summoning pool and sees who came back with her.* Oh...it's you.
Yamato: *Genuinely confused* Yes, it is I, Yamato...do we know each other?
Iowa: *Blinks in surprise, having been taken completely off-guard, then sighs* I'll let your younger sister explain it.
Yamato: *Still confused* All...right...? *Sees Musashi and what she's wearing and blushes as red as her skirt* Onee-sama! Please cover yourself! It is not proper for a battleship of your stature to be seen dressing so...unseemly!
Arizona: THANK YOU!!! At last, someone gets it!

:lol:lol:lol

Yamato is the Onee-Sama. Musashi is the imouto-chan

Seven times her tonnage? If it's done mathematically, that could buy herself, Iowa and Wisconsin back, and all four South Dakotas. If Iowa doesn't come back because her hull still floats, perhaps Showboat might revive instead.

That'd make Wash happy.

Alternately, we might see a few more Standards roll out of the fog.

Arizona adjusted her glasses while looking at her notepad before glancing at her sister who was laid out on the couch. Said Battleship had a sour expression on her face while grumbling. "This is not going to help."

Lips thinning, Ari looked to the door where Jane gave her a thumbs up. Then said girl ducked out of sight which made her take a breath. "It will, I have it on authority that such things as this help out quite a bit."

Frowning, Pennsylvania continued to glare at the ceiling as if it would combust at any moment. "Yes, the authority of a little girl."

Once more, Arizona adjusted her glasses with a frown of her own. "One who has helped me..." Clearing her throat, she hummed. "Now then, tell me about your builder's dock..."

Once Pennsy has recovered through the assistance of Counselor Ari's therapeutic skills, she may also decide to help others and join Ari in her practice:

Battleships are great and all, but the USN needs a lot more ships to escort them. I think this is the part where the USN can begin to launch offensive actions by itself (outside of air cover).

True. Perhaps a better package would be Mo, Whiskey, and a whole slew of destroyers and escorts of various classes?

Even if it is all battleships, that would be better than the shoestring fleet America has been working with to this stage.

Seven times her tonnage?

Yep. On screen we saw her sink a H-43 with a magazine detonation (111,000 tons) with her final salvo, after crippling a second one and leaving it wrecked (since she swapped fire rather than finish the kill on a Montana-equivalent peer, logically it was working on sinking). Add in a pair of 56,000 H-39s, and at least four 16,000 ton Hipper-class CAs. Considerign Mighty Mo is only 57,000 tons herself fully loaded, and you can see where this starts to add up rapidly.

175 Fletchers: ~350,000 tons
(take away about 12, -24,00)
326,000 tons
+ 2 Iowas (~55,000 each) 110,000 tons
436,000 tons

Germans (assuming total wipe): 527,782 tons
2x Bismarcks : 102,900 tons
3x H-39s:169,332 tons
2x H-43s: 222,000 tons
1x CV, type Unknown, assumed Graf Zepplin: 33,550 tons
some Cruisers, type unknown, so won't be counted

527,782 - 436,000 = +91,782 extra tonnage.

Though if I remember correctly, the tonnage translation is NOT 1:1.
(also, don't take this as perfect numbers)

And all the new Fletchers will be assigned to Warrant Officer Gale for orientation to the 21st century navy....

So fun fact, all that tonnage isn't enough to summon all the Essex class CVs. (they aren't appearing, but it's an interesting number)

well to be fair, if this was a 1 to 1 scale for returns to tonnage sunk... Jersey's fight against Hoppo would have netted the entire USN and the rest of the IJN by itself

Of course, there is one big issue that people are not realizing here. In order to send Pennsy back to the States and not have her completely and utterly freak out, one would need to send Ari there with her. See the problem? No?

A massive chunk of how Ari has been able to heal and deal with her issues revolves around the Richardson household and in particular Jane filling a spot in her heart.

People are suggesting to brutally, to Ari anyways, tear that away from her. To rip her away from her safe place, people she loves and cares deeply for and to leave them mostly defenseless, all because Pennsy has her own issues. To quite literally tell her that until Pennsy feels better and is "Good", she cannot go back. This is literally a case of paying Peter to pay Paul as you would have Ari now with major issues. Heck, you might see her lash out at Pennsy as she would blame her sister in this case for what happened, which would not help Pennsy in the slightest and cause major interpersonal issues around them.

Introduce Pennsylvania to war orphans. I'm sure there are plenty in the states.

This doesn't downplay the relationship between her and Arizona, but sometimes people who have suffered heal better when they can help others who have also suffered.

So, getting her away from Arizona would be hard, but introducing her to a bunch of war orphans with their own mental issues would have a good chance to help her heal.

That could definitely be a part of any program of treatment.

As to which ships could come back? I'm guessing it's a combination of tonnage sunk, and the manner in which it was done. Davy Jones likes a show. The more epic the better, seems to be his ideal when it comes to these things.

Mighty Mo just went out like the Viking at Stamford Bridge.

Whisky going out like she did probably counted as giving a good show as well. Maybe she gets out on that technicality.

Plausible, and come to think of it, Wisconsin is more like the Viking. Records say he was killed when the English used a boat to sneak beneath him and spear him in the gut.

Mo was still quite similar in her own way. She gutted the enemy fleet and bought time to mobilize Hawaii's defenses
