GDI Power Transmitter Station:
With the construction of off-planet solar power arrays, GDI field bases now have a secondary source of power available. While civic beamed power receivers are huge structures, military ones, by necessity are a good deal smaller. This does not mean that they are lacking in size however-even a small receiver is at least an acre in size, but this sheer mass provides an interesting problem for Nod saboteurs. Unlike normal power plants, there is little here that is actually worth destroying, or which is critical to the overall infrastructure-indeed, the most critical structure is a modest substation that converts the power coming in off the large antennae into electricity to feed base facilities, Tiberium refining, or even reverse the flow to power up orbital Ion Cannons. Additionally, all the materials used are common, cheap and easily replaceable, making all damage cheap and quick to repair by engineers or automated repair robots. This also gives the facility a very cheap and attractive price point for the budgetarily limited commander. However, due to their large footprint, and the additional radar noise generated by the microwave back-scatter, it is not recommended to use these facilities to provide all base power.
One important final note: Nod engineers must enter the main substation in order to take control of this facility via their hacking attacks. Position these facilities so that this side of the building is 'inside' your base defenses, to prevent Nod from simply taking away your power supply, and to shorten the cable runs required.
