I quite like Fallout and Flash Gordon. Really look into the other types of Sci Fi.

@ilbgar123

Here's an idea, how about a settlement .... that isn't a planet.

A bunch of DAoT space stations/bases clustered near each other, each with it's own gravity and unique nature, with ships going between the different space stations/bases as traders and what not.

Basically, just take the whole flying island/country schtick from the Fantasy genre and apply it to space. If you could push the aesthetic of these places in a sort of Age of Sail or Steampunk direction that would be cool.

chrome shelled regios? just the setting where people live in a apocalyptic monster filled wasteland while living in giant legged cities

I would be thinking of a world populated entirely by dragons. They could be the dragons of FFXIV, with the mighty Midgardsormr as the father of them all. They are all immortal, with their eyes being the well of their strength and lives, but only Midgardsormr himself can transcend the destruction of his physical form and remake a new body for himself. The seven of the First Brood born directly from Midgardsormr could also be here, the ones from whom all other dragons were born. They reproduce asexually, so for them, their mates are the most important persons in their lives on a spiritual level. If they were to join the Bastion, it would probably, from their perspective, be more akin to forming a pact.

Another idea was Splicer, in that setting Humans are infected by a nano-tech plague released by an insane AI that brings any metallic device they touch to life with the intent to kill them all, so they retreated underwater and switched over to bio-tech (their bio-tech power armour is as good as our power armour) and gained a racial fear of metal.

It would be a difficult setting for the people in-universe to work/deal with while not being difficult for a writer to work in.

right, going to need better internal security, while we cant prevent chaos spread we can limit it to non-essential crap and hopefully deaden its effects on the bastion, and by and large the imperium if we go a slow and steady approach to rebuild worlds we come across devastated by war. essentially we have a head-start by having the bastion, we could use a small time-frame to build up our legion up. also should we get the iron warriors to also help in rebuilding conquered worlds? Because part of the resentment was that they were taking the hardest tasks and often being side-lined and other bullshit, and of course perturbo being raised as a white elephant probably had something to do with his need to be recognized...hopefully we can help him out with that.

heck getting two legions specialized in siege warfare and let them compete to make terra literally and figuratively impossible to penetrate or siege down would be awesome.

not to mention instead of the war-master and the emperors Pretorian being a permanent position, we could have it a sort of elected position once every half a century, also that once elected they cant be voted for that position again (unless extreme circumstances argue them back into the position TEMPORAIRLY), which would allow each legions to put a touch of their own little bits to each defensive measure...

can you imagine what the legions could make of terra once they are finished with the defenses?!? the core worlds of the imperium would all be but impenetrable from both within and without if were careful about it.

plus with a Artificial sun rune, we could make mini-stellar bellows to use to solidify supply lines, while it wouldn't match the outpost of real bellows or forge worlds, it would definitely help get the crusade snowballing.

Here's some planet ideas:
-Space bug planet
-Mad max planet
-Super forest planet
-Strange hollow planet
-Forgeworld specialising in cybernetics
-Forgeworld specialising in spaceships
-Bloodborne planet
-Eldar planets (have we come across any more Eldar yet?)
-Ogryn planet
-Dwarf planet
-Prison planet
-Planet of magma people
-Ocean planet with city sized ships
-Crab people planet

do they get the any boni from our workshop as the workshop alone should be able to allow us to max something from 0 in 13 turns ?
in general is there any Invention check that doesn´t get a boni from the workshop in the plan this year and if yes is that one truely need ?

Edit: will go over all non-crystal research in tri2´s plan to look if they "waste" action by going massivly over 500000
Edit2: trying to calc the checks up from old actions is a pain in the ass as i am not sure what can be added and what not ...

the only thing i am really unsure is the Electronics bonusesso i left the old one in still 70k per action so it would take 7 action to get Programmingto max likely less as the Electronics bonuses is likely higher

Electronics and Forging bonus not sure how they are done here so left at the old values will likely add atleast a 1000 or so more points per action if not more
at least with the current check we only need 7 action to max it.

around 20k per action if they don´t get the workshop bonus.
Forging and Electronics bonuses left alone again as not sure what goes it them at this point.
Will take 7 actions to max with that check. I am pretty sure most checks will at least be several thousend points higher then what i have here as more stuff is added that we got in the time between these checks and now thats perks and inventions/crystals/runes.

Another, Phantasy Star, you can get five races from that, there's Humans at the base and then the three engineered and one offshoot races.

First is the Newmans who are smaller and physically weaker than humans but more mentally capable/developed as well as more agile and dexterous and are better at using Photon Arts/Techniques (will explain later).

Beasts, people who were created by fusing human and monster and of which there are two sub-types, the larger ones can range from normal human sized up to ten to twenty percent larger than humans in all ways and small which means that they don't grow to full adulthood because of some genetic disorder, they are much stronger and tougher than normal humans and some have ability to transform into a monstrous form.

There's the CAST who are a fully artificial race of androids who have a distinctly non-human/robotic look most of the time, they are better at ranged combat than the other races but worse in all other areas, they can also call on a heavy weapons platform or orbital strike system.

The off-shoot race is known as Dumans of which males have one horn and females have two horns on their foreheads, they aren't as tough as humans but are faster and are able to infuse the Photons in their body into their weapons and using that to boost their damage, sadly they need to wear an eyepatch to help control their power.

As for Photons and Photon Arts, Photons are the in-universe power system, most of which are produced by devices about the size of the end of you thumb or larger and concentration with different people being better or worse at producing and controlling Photons, the only type of Photons which are completely separate from the human mind in creation and thus don't have an inherently unstable energy output are Advanced or A-photons which come in crystal form, the problems are that creating these photons requires huge facilities and using them attracts SEED which mutate the surrounding non-sapient lifeforms into hyper aggressive and more dangerous forms.

As for Techniques they are essentially spells created through the manipulation of Photons through 'ritual' forms to bring about an effect on reality in some form of another, this ranges from throwing fireballs to creating fields of ice to earthen spikes and even healing, all of which bar the healing is generally temporary.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To work it in you could have Photon reactors acting like filters for Warp energy and using Photons would be a safeish way of manipulating and/or using Warp energy if in limited amounts and SEED could be a type of altered daemon.

Faerun, the main setting for D&D. Not sure how to resolve the whole gods thing but maybe some greater daemon equivalent made by the Old Ones as a test before they perfected the Eldar pantheon. Having one of them forcing the Warp into the Weave would be interesting. Although magic might be too powerful for the setting, what with antimagic fields and wishes and whatnot.
Or maybe Ooo. The wizards Madness Magic and Sadness thing might be interesting, plus it's just got some cool stuff.
@tri2, the Skylance system provides the largest single bonus to fleet combat we have. If we can max out Accuracy and Aim next turn, it should get at least 50 times better. 100 times isn't even the max reasonable increase since that's how much the range would increase.
Did we already put actions into improving the bastions security? Or are we just going to let chaos waltz in and infect the stellar bellows?
Well we have Order and Purity runes on every single satellite in the system. Otherwise we would have finished it turns ago. We also theoretically have Skylance Defense Systems but looking back I'm not actually sure anyone voted to build them.

Potential ideas for new "worlds" to encounter in Exploration, for ilbgar123:

Runeterra (League of Legends): The hextechs could be interesting to study, and I am curious to see how the Fields of Justice would work in the warhammer galaxy- keeping champions alive, no matter their injuries, seems the kind of things that deserve some serious studies.

Azeroth (World of Warcraft): Have the Burning Legions be changed for Chaos demons, the horde by warhammer Orks and the Dragon Aspects be either Old Ones experiments or Eldars fucking around during the days of their empire and it could work.

The species of Mass Effect- we encountered the quarians, it wouldn't be hard to bring in the others.

Harry Potter's world: make it a randomn civilized planet whose psykers decided to go to ground and there you go. (Some of the "magics" of said worlds could be very useful- potions for examples)

The elementals nations: have the shinobis be psykers.

Overwatch: once again, a randomn advanced world could work.

The Avatar's world (Aang/Korra): Someone mentioned good warp entities- well, the Avatar could be that, hiding from Chaos by jumping from host to host.

Fairy tail's world: magicals people be psykers. Simple.

Legend of Zelda: The Golden Goddess are "good" warp beings, who watch over Hyrule, and Ganon is a sorcerer turned demon?

The Witcher's world: again, magical be psykers.

For when bad rolls happen, have the bastion meet xenomorphs.

Or the monoliths from Dead Space.

Depending on good/bad rolls, we could have the world of F.E.A.R. Good rolls Alma Wade's birth is felt by Seras, since Alma would be, without a doubt, EXTREMELY powerful, and she arrives soon enough to ensure Alma grow up mentally stable.

Bad rolls? Adult Alma. With all that would mean in the warhammer galaxy...
As a matter of fact, I did.

Could we get a hive world like coruscant?
This, too, could be useful- both for it's population, it's techs and industrial capacity.

Huh. Not urgent, but have we considered upgraded arcologies/terraforming/space habitats? Room isn't an issue yet, and it isn't urgent, but a couple researches into terraforming to unlock climate alteration may improve QoL, for instance.

Arcologies can only be upgraded with improved coolant systems, not to mention that making them bigger or adding more, both of which would be well within our current heat budget, would lead to them being easier to subvert or sabotage by Chaos/our other enemies. Honestly, I think our best option would be scaling up Replicators as much as possible and perfecting nuclear transmutation. Then we could just eat planets and spit out dyson swarms. Of course, dyson swarms are super susceptible to Kessler Syndrome so that might not be a great idea until we get the autoshipyards set up and can make trillions of SDS's to encompas the whole solar system and destroy or slow down any KKVs they send our way.

5 (Replicator Efficiency) + 7 (Cogitator ) +3 (Programming ) -> 15 free action + maybe 13 from Anti Corruption Cogitator

@ilbgar123 are Anti Corruption Cogitator are thing we can do ?
because we got the Cogitator from an anti chaos action (turn 13)
...
will try to come up with my own plan somewhat in the next few day will likely have more crystal action (around 30 actions overall), but i plan on getting Material Science, Sensors, Ship Designs, Cogitator, Computer Programming, Reactors, Ship Modularity, Orichalcix, Psychic Choir and Booster Crystals maxed that should be around 80 actions (likely less) to do that.

We have to save Angron post haste!
Or we can just say to our Laughing Friend who seems to have all but adopted us into the pantheon that we would really appreciate any news of her brothers that thy find and being in on the loop for any decisions and given our speech check and other things weve done for the eldar it should be easy for Angron to not deal with a hit sqaud and just slaughter the slave caravan

We still need to be in a position to potentially save him so the self fulfilling prophesy doesn't work. The prophesy said "this guy's gonna go crazy and start murdering people" so the eldar attacked him and weakened him enough that people could capture him and go crazy. As long as he wouldn't go crazy even in that scenario then there wouldn't be a prophesy.
