@ilbgar123 while Magnus might not have the some power his canon self did he still has the knowledge yeah? Has he been able to make his own crystals and even make entirely new ones outside of our guidance?

For a scholar like him I would assume he would create a few concept crystals/runes that would be useful to him like knowledge, organization, etc.

Serras has a bonus when doing psychic engineering, Magnus has a bonus to esoteric psyker crap, so while Magnus doesn't have as much ease as her in creating new types of Crystals, it's a lot easier than if almost anyone else tried it. Also, he has about as much difficulty in making previously made ones, since 'conceptual bullshit' falls under esoteric psyker crap.

Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top with a side of peer reviewed papers on astro technology? We just need one more +10 bonus roll to auto pass and meet Horus.
That was indeed my intention. Mayhap my neutral grammar usage led to a miscommunication. Also, I've gotten out of the actual science business for now. I've been exploring the super-powered young adult novel expy grog band/doom blender scene.
@ilbgar123 if the extra +10 was necessary, I'd like to dedicate one of mine.

Yeah, the stability of the Primarchs in general can be traced almost directly to what kind of childhood they had. Some of them did okay despite the relatively poor conditions (Leman's first set of parents got killed, even if they were wolves, that would seriously mess up a normal human) but most of the ones that stayed loyal (Magnus was more or less forced to turn traitor to keep his Legion from getting wiped out) had better childhoods. I mean, look at Gulliman. His situation was very similar to Serras'. Raised by the ruler of his world, got all the best teachers, and the Ultramarines, for all that people gripe about them, are some of the most successful Space Marines, almost the first ones one thinks of when the word is used. Angron, on the other hand, fell pretty quickly once Chaos started pushing him, but I attribute that to a horrible, horrible childhood.
I wonder if anything less than euphanization can be done for Angron. If there's any Primarch that is unsalvageable, it would be him. He is enslaved in approximately the same day he landed on Nuceria, got the Bucher's Nails, and got pulled away from his loved ones by Big Daddy Emperor even after giving him the finger (rammed through one of his custodian's eyes). As fare as I am aware, no cure for the nails exists, and Angron would still hate the Emperor even without them. Literally everyone, even Angron himself, would have been better off if he died in his rebellion.

Eh, with The Bastion being nice to the Eldar, and heading off a lot of their problems thanks to Serras' inventions (Psychic Batteries are of much more use in daily life, even if Soulstones are held in higher regard) so the Eldar are unlikely to get that prophecy.

But Nuceria is in the Ultima Segmentum. Will Serra's presence change prophecy that far away?

@ilbgar123 I remember a while ago you said that even if we could remove the Butcher's Nails from Angriboi, after a while they'd have gotten their hooks in his soul so removing the physical objects would only partially work. But I forgot and can't find the post where you said how long that would take. And can we extend that timeline with Soul Surgery?

With Soul Surgery, you get 'within 3 years of implantation' as a time limit. He's going to end up on Nuceria around 35 years after Serras showed up. You have until then to get your range that far out, or at least butterfly things enough that the Eldar never show up to assassinate him, which would probably lead to him slaughtering the slave caravan that picked him up OTL.

Hmmm... so 28 turns to get there. Maybe more if we improve Soul Surgery. Probably valid. I'm not sure how far we are but once we start linking up with our brothers and Dad, expanding our psychic range with Magnus's help and clearing the Webway with our more militant brothers and maybe some stabilized Thunder Warriors could make that very possible. We got access to I think 8 sectors last turn and the galaxy only has 40,000 based on the average size of a sector and the size of the galaxy. Does anyone know how many sectors it is in a straight line from us to angron?

Apparently the location of Nuceria is a complete unknown. I'm not kidding, outside of the knowledge that Nuceria is in the Ultima Segmentum there is nothing. All we can do is get a powerful sensor array, team up with a bunch of Beta Psykers and Magnus into a psychic choir and search in the east-ish direction.

Big, but not too big. Still not great though. We'd need to get 358 sectors per turn to cover the whole thing by the time Angron shows up. Probably safe to cover about half that and then make a beeline when we sense his arrival. Still way more than we can probably handle and we'd have no IC reason to expand in that direction specifically.

Apparently not! :o

Wait since Angron's name was given to him by the people who caught him does that mean if he avoids that fate he will have a different name?
28 years, turn 35 is when a turn = 5 years. It's currently turn 15. We got a good 20 years/turns to do our side checking and then 1 turn to meet him before he gets caught in the middle of turn 36-37. So around 21 turns to meet him. A fair bit less sure but not too bad all things considered.

Say, Lags, could you add the total bonuses to the PDF rolls, industry, and morale to your Informational? I ask because the Webway progress depends on that and I'll be doing it once the talk with Emps ends regardless of the result.

Just to double check, the checks for the talk with Big E are big enough that a +10 would mean essentially nothing right? Cause if not I remember a couple of people were willing to donate their omake bonus to the cause if they thought it would help at all.

Second question, how likely are the Eldar to worship the Crystal Deity?

The current favored Minor Action Plan is @King Arthur's Crystal Plan. As the name implies it's crystals and nothing else. With how many minor actions we got we can spare a few for other essentials like Sensors, Materials Science, Cogitators and other tech.

That's .... accurate, but misleading.

My plan is Crystals and nothing else, but it's only supposed to be the Crystal portion of the plan. It doesn't even fill up all the Invention slot actions, there's still a lot of wiggle room there. Even the largest possible variation of my plan is only 28 actions, which is a lot but still leaves us with invention actions left over in addition to minor.

Hmmm... Well I'd really like to get Accuracy and preferably also Aim but his plan looks pretty decent.

Don't worry, it's hopefully in the next version of the plan, though it's unwritten for now as I'm waiting to see how the Big E conversation goes.

3 to 2 for 5 runes/crystals, so a rebuild of said plan is certain. these will likely also include all the crystals that give boost to research or getting our stats up.

As Skjadir put it, costs have gone down.

someone mind linking me to the crystal plan please, gonna work on the minor/invention plan while eating some cannibals

Wind Up linked the last version

An Extra Primarch | Page 736

but the last version of the plan is obsolete.

I have three goals for the Crystal Plan. Define personality, increase deities odds of survival, and make making Crystals cheaper. The third goal is a recent addition, when I made a plan I felt satisfied with I thought of it, did the math on a lark, and figured out that we would achieve the third goal with the plan I made. So I was happy about that.

Then, we selected Perks and the cost of Crystals became cheaper. This means that if I want to hit the third goal again then I have to create a new plan. We went from needing 3 actions to needing 2, I wanna take it from 2 to 1, the cheapest it can go as far as I'm aware.

The thing is that current calculations tell us we need anywhere between 28 to 26 actions to drive the Crystals as cheap as they can go, so I'm waiting to see if Big E is even going to permit us to do so first as that's a 60 to 65 Crystal Plan and I really don't want my work to go to waste if he tells us to slow our roll.

So, yeah, if Big E and the thread gives me the go ahead I'll write up a new plan at 28-26 actions, assuming of course that the Major Actions don't drive the price down and we don't find some other method to make it cheaper as well. Aim and Accuracy will definitley make it into the 26 action plan.

If the thread doesn't give me the go ahead I understand, that's a lot of actions, i'll take what I can get. Last version of the plan has become cheaper though, 20 Crystals was the previous plan which now costs us only 8 actions where it used to cost 12.
