What did we even get for attending University? I can see absolutely nothing in the updates...

The number of psychic adviser actions are also wrong as well I believe, and the bonus research points from STC design logic's that there was a discussion about was ignored too.

We have 6 actions.

One is being used to repair out manifestation penalty and channeling damage, another is locked on researching basic psy materials.

That leaves us four actions.

If we spend time with family in our personal actions and work with Jinah there is the possibility for Mirande to work on getting two more advanced sins to synthesize and thus gain another 2 willpower. That would put us 2 points of willpower away from gaining an additional psychic advisor action.

The next willpower point after that would be easy (unbridled passion) but the next willpower point would require a source for a sin trait which we don't have yet and would likely be more difficult.

Anna gets us discerning lust. Spending two actions with Jinah gets us Advanced Envy and the ability to teach her patience which is very important.

Don't suppose I could convince you to work on getting the other sin traits for Mirande to synth and bump her willpower?

We only got the rewards for the synergy effects so far, presumably we need to finish a degree or the like to get the main benefits. Which is why we shouldn't just stop part way through.

1. No, one of them is locked in for fixing the channeling damage.
2. Because as mentioned in that discussion in case of new projects they are already accounted for in the cost.

@Academia Nut: How long is whatever program we started in at the university? 3 year degree? Or if we aren't in a program, what were the non-synergy effects of the action last turn? Presumably it would have still done something without also picking the research and the grave tender action?

We may be able to take time off until we are out and finish it up at 2 actions per turn, though.

@SuperSonicSound - I'm afraid I'm not sure why you went on a tangent there. I was speaking of the Psychic Advisor Actions where we get; 1 base action, 1 action for an education above 4, and then one action every 7 WP points after 25 (which is 6) so that means we should have 8 total actions. At least I believe that's the case from the discussion all the way back on Dia's military actions.

It's still scary though. That took three personal actions and a significant amount of Mirande's time in the year, and the result was less fluff than the Improved Teaching Methods description. I would have expected SL's, actions/opportunities we can take in University, her musings on the tech development, ect. Something similar to when she was at the military academy before the Gravekeeper arc. What little we got most was only mentioned in relation to the religious action, and if you take that away there is nothing of value. What is below is the result.
Meanwhile you are also studying at the university and picking up a number of useful pieces of information, especially on the philosophical and historical courses regarding the Grave Tenders. While most of the university is a research institution, it has a number of other departments that can work on teaching and archival of information and the like. What is most useful to you is the slowly forming divides between the various schools of thought.

You can do a minor degree in two or a major one in four. They will provide some mechanical benefit, but the majority of the benefit has been behind the scenes catch up stuff so that you no longer feel anywhere near as displaced, or you have the proper terminology to make your debates correctly. It's basically removed a number of penalties that might have come up rather than given direct bonuses. The multiplier for research actions will also climb up to x3 if you keep at it this year, and the chance to pick up a Learning lifestyle will be in the cards if you go at it to four years. The ball is now rolling on the Existentialists and Communitarians being a thing, but that won't hit play for a few years if it does emerge, but actually getting the trait with the mechanical bonuses will require more time spent in scholarship.

As adviser you contribute 1 for every 7 WP over 25 (including 25), or a minimum of 1 if the base number is at 0.

Spending time with the family members is pretty much wasted until Mirande's back in the public eye due to everyone other than her sisters not being allowed to know who she is yet. It should wait until then, especially since we don't gain any direct benefit from it. Training our powers and working with Jinah are much more important at the moment.

We *do* gain direct benefit; we can pick up vices and work towards synth traits, in addition to forestalling decadence and inter-polity diplomatic issues.

Oof! Well, on the one hand, prediction would be useful. On the other... I'm not entirely sure what preparations could be made to fend off a sizable Eldar band.

Short of Sudden Case of Mirande and Mag, but the former is still creaky and the latter isn't available.

Actions... keeping on research, of course. Likewise, helping out health issues; we want to continue to build up good will.

I want to train Jinah a bit, just to give her a taste of what we can offer... but we might as well slot her into our first Ward slot, since that's what that's for.

A touch of warning would be useful in most disaster circumstances (at the least do some evacuation), and we should probably do a bit of training to get Fortune Telling up to rank 3.

On the personal actions, I really want to do family time, but:

1. Upping the research bonus with attending university some more is *very* useful.

2. Continuing to remove penalties for being 'displaced'.

3. It'll probably be easiest now to guide the Grave Tenders and prevent strong schisms.

4. It takes two years to get a minor degree - we should at least get that.

Did Mirande even get the bonus to learning? And ugh, fucking decadence mechanic.

I'd wait with the disgust until we see the details on the implementation, myself. And continued guidance might allow us to actually influence those mechanics.

EDIT:
If the effect of doing that action again is minor though... well, some more training, perhaps (either for Mirande or for Jinah).

Actually... I wonder if training Jinah would have synergy with training with the Cube to pick up a bit of Pyromancy and/or Telekinesis.

Did you change the mechanics then? As these were the stats for our advisors when we played Dia, and it's not unfair to call them piss poor stat wise and none reached that 25 threshold mark yet contributed multiple actions. I hope you're not basing your mechanics on Mirande's absurd stats as everyone else isn't capable of coming close so they're going to be limited to one state action, two if they're truly exceptional given they have a base stat of 16 and have to reach 32.

Administrator - Dia Stone (You)
Bureau Chief of Foreign Affairs - Janice Rivers (15)
Legate - Jules Bertrand (17)
Prime Minister - Farrell Horizon (9)
Chief of Security - Armin Grace (18)
Provost - Sammael Vultin (21)

Edit - Forgot about bureaucratic actions from infrastructure. Here is AN's speaking about Dia when she had depression though indicating you get one for the right education trait.

No. The 2 military actions already disappeared. Those were your "personal contribution" actions. You got +1 from having a Martial Education trait, and +1 from having a 25 in Martial. You lost one from your stats going below 25, and the other from the depression itself. Thus you only get the three actions you get from your bureaucracy.

We should at least get the minor degree before taking some time off. Since it sounds like we don't absolutely need to keep an eye on the grave tender situation every year you can still use that slot for spending time with Anna of whoever. And next year after getting the degree we can spend time with everyone and work on our combat forms. Lets not be a dropout.

Did we get any vices? No, we didn't even get an attempt.* We don't spend enough time with them for that. We can't, because we can't allow our identity to leak.

Furthermore, there is no decadence mechanic yet -- if there were, Rowena and Victoria wouldn't need censure for it anyway, since they appear to be virtue-heavy builds -- and all three are all members of the Green Owl group.

EDIT: * Whoops, forgot we didn't actually choose it this turn. Still, based off of the repeated descriptions of our interactions with our sisters, we can't spend the necessary time with them out of need for secrecy.

Invigorate Council, because making sure things are stable after a disaster like this is very important for the nation, even if we can't control it right now. University and Religion, because we need to catch up a bit more and Miranda needs to be sure of her place in the Grace Tender church when she goes public. The remaining go to training the apprentice and powers.
