A Villain In A World Of Heroes

People not advocating Experimentation, think about this:

Let us say that we find out that our Icebolts can carry weight. Let us say that they only freeze things supernaturally if we want them to. That's enough to be able to fly, if we wear fur so that we don't get cold from sitting on an icicle, because we can just make a really long one and hold onto it, like a Witch on a Broomstick. We're a young girl so we aren't that heavy, after all. We probably won't be able to take most of our stuff with us, though, so no changing our lodgings to another city with it, until/unless we can make a second one at the same time.

Tl;DR Experimentation might let us fly. Do you want to fly? Yes, you do. Vote for experimentation.

It depends on how much weight that icicle can hold. While we aren't heavy, we are several times heavier than what I'm imagining the icicle is (about finger size). We might be able to make it bigger, but that will take more magic, so will holding it and not just flinging it.
None the less, I do agree that it's experimentation we should do, it's always good to know what you can and can't do.

[X] Experiment. You miss too easily, and your swordplay is weak. Fortunately, you have both magic and a weapon. Time to get creative, and find a combat style that suits you.

But I digress. We should experiment near the edge of the forest, but far enough in that people can't see us from outside.
I would be fine with that, because it is at least taking a bit of precaution and lowers the amount of approach angles any hungry monsters would have. My biggest problem is that people want to experiment in the middle of the death forest without taking any precautions.

Reasons to know specifics about our magical (and martial) abilities. We have asked many questions that Dark Ness has responded with "You don't know", because according to him, the only thing we did was see if we could cast the spell. Things like if we can hold a icicle mid air, if we can have it support weight, how much, stuff like that. There was more, but that's the only things that I can recall off the top of my head.
I agree that this stuff is good to know, and if we were (almost) anywhere else I would be fine with letting the vote happen. As it stands, we are covered in blood, carrying raw meat, and in the middle of a forest of death filled with monsters that would like to eat us as much as we would like to eat them.

That is discounting the part of Nova Glaciem that freezes everything the ice spear touches.
Nova Glaciem
Casting time: One (1) second
Effect: Creates and can fire a bolt of Ice at 45-50 miles per hour. In addition to stabbing, the bolt also freezes whatever it contacts.
Also, it is probable in a world of magic, that someone has already made a spell dedicated to flying.

During our planning for the Fenric Wolf, I asked Dark Ness about how long they are when I was considered a spear wall. They said the ice bolts are about 2ft max.
More importantly, @Dark Ness can we use our ice spell to create spikes in the ground, and related, about how large are the ice spines we can make?
About two feet max, currently, but the wolf could just jump over them, and you wouldn't have time to make enough to work even if it couldn't.

We can cook the meat, as for the monsters I don't think the forest is THAT dangerous. Earlier we were deliberately seeking them out, so of course we ran into them. But unless every single thing in this forest is a dangerous monster, that means they are able to live atleast several years without getting eaten. If we can keep ourselves from seeming appetizing and a easy meal, we should be good. Fire is a good way to keep from seeing like a easy meal, because while it might not hurt the monsters overly much, it is still painful and annoying.

It gets more dangerous the further in, you are far in.

Or we could just go to the edge of the forest, where no self-respecting forest monster would come, and where we could more easily run away if we can't deal with it. It'd also be easier to get back to our lodgings from there after all the adrenaline wears off and we get used to the feeling of our new magic levels, with less chances of a random encounter (from animals, at least. I still expect criminals to come after us, for a number of reasons).

Hmm, alright. Changing my vote to your version (that I only now noticed).

And if any of those precautions were included in any of the votes, I would be more willing to accept it. With regards to the monsters, consider that the stronger monsters are likely to be nearer to the center of the forest, and that almost every animal becomes a bigger threat at night, this would include all of the nocturnal (presumably carnivorous) monsters that roam the forest while hunting.

Darn. Well, then, I guess I'll go change my vote again. We need to learn more about our spells, after all.
[X] Experiment near the edge of the forest.
-[X] How much force can we exert with our bolts?
-[X]Do we lose control of them when we stab something, or when we "let go" of it?
-[X]What activates it's freezing component?
-[X]Can we make two bolts parallel to each other and place wooden planks perpendicular to the bolts to make a flying raft thingy?
-[X] Can we grab the bolts without hurting ourselves (This is a valid thing because we have regeneration)?
-[X] Can we make them needle thin?
-[X] Can we make them really thick?
-[X]How much can we make them lift, or does touching something make us lose control over it?
-[X] How many can we control at one time?
-[X]How's our raw magical power coming along, now that we've eaten two magical creatures (I mean things like the wordless telekinesis)?
-[X]Can our regeneration push things out of wounds?
-[X]Does our regeneration make us hungry when we use it, or are we hungry right now anyways?
-[X] Test holding our breath to see if regeneration helps with that.
-[X] Test advanced senses. Can we hear anything rustling around in the silent woods that we couldn't before?
-[X] How much physically stronger are we now? Try picking up rocks and stuff and throwing them as fast as we can to get a sense for the difference.
[X] Make sure to keep watch as you do this. Advanced senses only work if you use them, after all.
Friend, as a suggestion, if you change the vote to be something so different from what you originally voted for, it would probably be better to make a new post with the vote, or informing that you changed your vote. If I hadn't gone back to look through the votes so far, this probably would have been missed.

Also, I like that is has actual details for what you want to experiment on.

I am going to have to veto these, because they will be extremely painful to test and you don't have supernatural pain tolerance. The rest is fine, though.

I wouldn't want the GM to just waste a post saying that we went to the edge of the woods, and then asking us what we wanted to test. That'd be wasteful and time consuming.

[X] Experiment. You miss too easily, and your swordplay is weak. Fortunately, you have both magic and a weapon. Time to get creative, and find a combat style that suits you.

EDIT: Changed vote.

well we got lucky both times we need to get good

-[X] while the meat is cooking practice and experiment
--[X] after eating your fill rest in a nerby tree

[X] Continue wandering near the edge of the forest. We want more, but aren't willing to get lost in the death forest for it.

Maybe not try to experiment with fighting styles (of which Cedra probably knows of none) in the middle of the death forest as evening approaches.

If you want to experiment you should go back to town where we aren't liable to run into monsters.

Current votes. Some people should reread and/or change their votes based on the information given out by the GM...

7 for wander the forest, 6 for experimentation, and a few that combine the two in some way, or advocate staying the night in the forest.

Edit: Tie is broken; experimentation wins, with my write-in for what we'll be doing.

Personally, I'm hopeful that there will be something changed about our breathing. The whole point of breathing is that oxygen is used in the process for consuming the food stored in the cells, which is to say that it's part of how the cell eats, and regrowing limbs (Which we can do, if not in less than ten minutes like that ridiculous elk) takes nutrients (i.e cell food), which are coming out of, presumably, nowhere (Unless that Elk got a lot thinner every time it lost a limb), so why would the rest of our cells need food anyway? If they starve to death, then they are dead, and we can just grow new ones.

Now, we don't IC know this, so we probably won't be able to hold our breathe any longer than our other physical enhancements would dictate we could. But say we get smothered in the middle of the night by an assassin? He could be holding that pillow for an awfully long time...

Didn't we already talk about suffocation? This is likely to be magical regeneration, rather than biological regeneration. Bio regen would be extremely energy intensive and take much longer. Even if the regen made new cells to replace the dieing cells, we would still need oxygen to make ATP to keep our muscles from locking up.
edit: unless it also boosts fermentation (oxygenless cell resp. that is extremely inefficient) to a ludicrous degree.
Removal of Oxygen from the body causes Cellular respiration to stop. Cellular Respiration uses Oxygen to convert nutrients into ATP, which all muscles in the body use to function properly. The largest and most energy intensive muscle in the body is the heart. Lack of ATP causes a muscle to stop functioning and be unable to relax (this is what Rigor Mortis is). Cellular Respiration also creates waste products, like Carbon Dioxide. CO2 diffuses into the blood, which when combined with the H2O turns into H2CO3 (Carbonic Acid), lowering the pH of the blood and making it more acidic. This CO2 usually diffuses out of the blood in the lungs and is expelled from the body, returning the pH back to normal. In this case, the CO2 would be unable to exit the body and begin causing damage to the blood vessels and cells throughout the body as the carbonic acid builds up.

One can hope, you know. Have you any idea how much money we could save by never buying food?
We would die from malnutrition, so we wouldn't save any.
