A Villain In A World Of Heroes

So, it's because we have no clue that we could do it, and it's hard to do stuff when we aren't looking? Darn. That still means that any Wizard-Doctor is ridiculously dangerous. A minor detail: a stroke is, arguably, easier to cause than a heart attack because it's in the brain, and you only need to pinch a blood vessel or two, which requires very little force, as opposed to a heart, which is a fairly strong muscle that can stop for a second or two without killing you, meaning that you need to keep up the pressure on it.

Thanks for answering my questions, though. Now we know the path to Transcendent Assassination! Mwuahahahahahahaha! Also, I'm sorry for wasting your time with that question, when I should have already realized that we couldn't know to do that IC.

Oh, I didn't mean that going to a Wizard-Doctor was dangerous, I meant that any Wizard with a knowledge of anatomy and a bit of practice can kill you dead at the drop of a hat, so Wizard-Doctors are dangerous in fights. I word things terribly. Sorry again.

[x] Use the fireball spell to ignite a ring of flames surrounding the wolf.
-[x] Light flames in front of it to cut it off when it tries to run.
[x] Kill it with icebolts once you've got it trapped.

You really don't have time to make a ring of flames, and it can just jump over them.

If we can't trap it, we'd better aim to cripple it with our first attack.

[x] Before it has time to notice you, fire a barrage of ice bolts at one of its hind legs. If all goes well, this will cripple its movement speed.
[x] If possible, take out the other hind leg as well.
[x] Use fireballs to set fire to its fur, then run.
[x] Keep your distance and pelt it with ice bolts. Try to avoid putting out the flames.

Just posting a vote tally to make sure that everyone knows the current plans.

Vote tally:

[X] Use pebble to distract the wolf while you set up a trap
-[X] The trap is nothing more than a bunch of flammable material gathered in one place (so that we will burn it when the wolf enters)

[X] Fire ball its legs the chard in with your blade

[X] Use the Ice spell to hit the wolf in the mouth, freezing its teeth, then charge in to shatter them with as strong a blow as possible. If it doesn't run away after that, hit it with fire, then put your back to a tree and prepare to defend yourself.

[X] Fire a barrage of Icebolts at it's head while moving into a better defensive position. Then, if it survives the constant barrage and starts coming at you, keep it up if you can, but prepare to meet it with your sword. Utilize the Wide-area nature of your fire spell if it starts dodging the Icebolts.

[X] Fire an Icebolt at it's head while moving into a better defensive position.
[X] If it charges
-[X] Fire more icebolts if you can while it charges at you.
--[X] When it is close enough create a fireball in it's path, hopefully it will both deal damage and the light will disorient it.
---[X] After it passed through the fireball, stab it in the neck or head with your sword.
[X] If it advances slowly
-[X] Back down while firing icebolts at the wolf, don't run back since it's a guaranteed way of falling down, so move slowly.
--[X] Try to shoot it's legs to slow it down even more.

Right now the plans that have the most votes have 2...

I don't get why none of you have voted to throw a giant pointy icicle into the notably large eyes, before doing anything else. Removing vision in even one eye can be a very good advantage, and at the luckiest, it might pierce through to the brain.

1. Eyes are little, and hard to hit.
2. Being able to aim at its eyes means we're in its field of vision, which means we don't get a preemptive strike.
3. If we're in its field of vision, we may be seconds from death.

1. It was specifically noted in the update that this Fenris wolf is twice our size, with large eyes.
2. We can see it's eyes from where we are, and the preemptive strike will be any first attack we make due to the requirement of speaking the spell out loud.
3. We are seconds from death right now, no matter what we do. This is not a valid argument.

Large eyes are still a very small target.

Can we? I got the impression that that was a description of what it looked like, not a hint to where we are in relation to it.

There's a big difference from being 30 or so seconds from death and being two seconds from death.

Consider, we are approx. 5' tall (based on the average current height of a 14yo girl). This creature is approximate 10' in height, based on the description given, and likely 20-35 feet in length. It is noted to have large eyes, whether this is proportional to our eyes, or to the Wolf's head, is something @Dark Ness would need to clarify. It is specifically noted to have senses at least as good as a normal wolf, and that it will notice us soon. It's species is described as incredibly strong, to point only potent magical armour has a chance to stop its claws. It is also noted to be faster than it would otherwise appear to be. It is not currently looking for us, and so we have 1 chance to do something that would give us an advantage before it can respond.

Attacking the eye is a risk due to the size, yes. However, this risked is mitigated somewhat in that we have the element of surprise for the immediate future, and at least a little time to aim before we cast the spell. The sensory organs are almost always going to be the weakest point in any creature.

Attacking the legs is also a risk due to the miss chance, though this can also be mitigated with positioning.

Can we? I got the impression that that was a description of what it looked like, not a hint to where we are in relation to it.
If we were unable to see the eyes, we wouldn't have known its eyes were large and I would have advocated hitting the legs.

This is my current outline for a plan. It could probably use a bit of work. Suggestions?

More importantly, @Dark Ness can we use our ice spell to create spikes in the ground, and related, about how large are the ice spines we can make?

[] Attempt to send an icebolt through the wolf's eyes before it has a chance to notice you
-[] Whether we successfully hit the eyes or not, immediately throw ice bolts at his legs while we move near a tree that we can get behind when it charges us
--[] If we are able to immobilize it, back away and throw icebolts at its face until it dies or breaks free
---[] If it breaks free, resume icebolts to his legs,
----[] Repeat from step 3 until dead

-[X] Whether we successfully hit the eyes or not

---[X] If we are able to immobilize it, back away to another tree and throw icebolts at its face until it dies or breaks free
----[X] If it breaks free, resume icebolts to his legs,
-----[X] Repeat from step 3 until dead

Reasoning:
The eyes, and other sensory organs, are often times the weakest point on any creature's body. The eyes of this Fenric Wolf is large, proportional to its head, making it a much easier target to hit than the eyes would normally be. That said, this is our best, and likely only, chance at hitting the eyes, as once it starts coming for us, it will be significantly harder to hit the eyes. Best case scenario, while highly unlikely, the ice javelin pierces through to the brain and insta-kills it. Worst Case, we lose a free hit on it and do what most everyone wanted to do anyway.

Attempt to slow him, and try to get to cover, even if the cover is not that effective, at least it gives us a slight buffer between us and it.

steps 3-6 are infinitely repeatable until we run out of mana (or setting equivalent) and hopefully should keep us at range and him disabled.

I'm just going to note that few of the other plans already use the surprise attack we have to attack its head and after that fire at its leg.
I suggest that you consider looking at the other plans, there are plans that are similar to yours so creating another might not be a good idea to advance a certain idea.

The entire point of my making a different plan was to make an attack on a specific point, the eyes, rather than making a general attack at the head. I looked at the other plans, and I was disappointed nobody seemed to notice the fact the eyes are specifically mentioned as being large.

In a straight fight, we Will lose to this thing, so we need every advantage we can get.

Here, I modified my plan to start by firing at its eyes. I'm not sure that we can actually hit them, but even if we do we are still likely to hit the head.
(Hopefully more people will vote for this, because otherwise the plan to freeze and break it's teeth will win...)
