A Naruto Mook Quest [The Gamer/Naruto]

[X]Grind more enemies for level and skill xp

Once we have money we can buy better gear. I just hope we don't run into a boss.

also can we do a LUK build? just once Please?

[X]Grind more enemies for level and skill xp
-[X] Primarily attempt to improve Chakra stat and skills that enhance it.
I would recommend to go specific with the only applicable (to this type of combat) chakra skill we got and instead vote

[]Grind more enemies for level and skill xp
-[]Make heavy use of Body Replacement Technique
Body Replacement Technique

rather than merely saying "improve chakra" without specifying how

we can come back in as soon as we find the exit. If we go buy proper weapons we could be killing enemies 2x as fast or faster, meaning 2x more XP per hour or better. It is a waste to not leave immediately and arm ourselves properly

Who says a con here isnt going to be the dungeon needing time to respawn?.

The way I read it was that the choice was an approach to how to proceed in the dungeon:if grinding we might kill enough enemies to make getting out harder when a mid boss spawns.

If we go for the exit first strategy: we get out sooner but may be locked out of the dungeon for a time.

Formal vote.

I hope we get something from a tunneling rat. A doton jutsu for movement would be... Useful.

I dont see any reason to spcificaly use chakura. I would prefer to be good at both chakura and dodging than to rely on a finite supply of chakura no matter how good we are at it. Also keeping lots in reserve is important if a boss turns up

that is an extremely unlikely scenario that didn't occur to me due to mostly OOC reasons (namely, this being the QM's 4th or 5th gamer quest / SI and none of them had said modification).
But i guess it is possible. However it won't really matter much considering how we are time skipping, unless it locks it for weeks+

we don't have any info IC about boss spawns

There isn't much difference better gear would make. Sure, we have what's probably a somewhat blunt kunai, but it still killed the rat pretty damn fast. Can always go for slashing their throats instead of piercing the skull.

Now, after we are out, I'm certainly voting on going to Tenten's shop and buying two good holsters, two good pouches and fill it with high quality gear. But we probably need more money than we have right now (though probably not a lot, as they are disposable weapons, while OTOH average gear might be considerably cheaper than high grade steel).

[X]Try to find the exit as soon as possible

... really? You're going to go grinding without first finding the way out so you can retreat if you find yourself overwhelmed?

-[X] But once we get enough funds to support shopping for decent gear, look for an exit.

Well, you're in a dungeon, you're armed, your hp is almost full, there's really only one thing you can do.

"Time to grind!" You say with a grin before going out of the small trail to try and meet with the new enemies. With your chakra recovering by the minute and no risk of chakra exhaustion you can train without issues. Besides you can test your resilience a bit, since apparently the bite mark you had a couple of seconds ago from the rat disappeared as if it was never there.

~~O~~

You found a couple of rats, a few large constrictor snakes, some giant cockroaches and a giant fly that threw some kind of spines to you. You lost about 50% of your hp while fighting all of those creatures but you got a good enough haul in loot from them.

+350 xp
+10 xp Observe
+10 Rat Tails, +2 Snake Skin, +1 Snake Oil, +2 Fly wings, +15 Roach Meat
+5000 ryo

Konoha Academy Taijutsu level increased by 1!

Through a special action the skill Knife Mastery was learned!
Knife Mastery (Passive) (Level 1) [0/10]

The mastery in using knife type weapons and increasing it's power
10% increase in knife type damage
10% increase in knife type attack speed

The loot all looked rather mundane, with the rat tails, snake oil, fly wings being used as 'potion' ingredients while the snake skin is a crafting item and the roach meat is a consumable that restores a bit of hp. Deciding to test it you take a bite and almost immediately regret it since it tastes like bitter medicine, but after finishing it you do regain +10hp from your troubles, which considering your current hp is a lot right now.

~~O~~

Due to using the roach meat to recover yourself you get back to the grinding, slowly working your way up the local food chain. You noted that as you got deeper into the forest the enemies started to get harder to defeat with their level slowly increasing, though their variety keep the same regardless. If it wasn't for the roach meat you keep getting you wouldn't have lasted nearly as much. You also got a new skill out of it.

+575 xp
+10 xp Observe
+12 Rat Tail, +3 Snake Skin, +1 Snake Oil, +3 Fly Wings, +10 Roach Meat
+5000 Ryo

You leveled up!
Konoha Academy Taijutsu level increased by 2! +18xp
Knife Mastery level increased by 6! +13xp

Through a special action the skill Physical Endurance was learned!
Physical Endurance (Passive) (Level 1) [0/10]

The ability to resist damage taken, usually in the form of kinetic energy.
1% damage reduction from physical attacks.

You also figured that fighting enemies is a very good way to improve some of your more active skills. You're only doing this for a few hours and you have leveled your skills higher than you expected!

"Still, the damn roach meat could at least taste a bit better", you said as you munched the damn thing, idly nothing that you probably ate more than you thought possible and still doesn't feel 'full'. Well, technically you do, but on the other hand you don't feel like you're going to burst from eating all that meat, when you suddenly realize two things. A) you apparently have a bottomless stomach and B) you have been eating raw, unknown meat for the better part of a few hours.

You shrug, since the observe didn't warned you against poison or disease so you're good on that front. You hope.

Still, you think you cleaned up the place since the last few enemies took longer to find than to fight so you take a look at your stat screen.

You got five new shiny stat points to distribute whenever you want! Now, what to do with it?

[ ]Distribute now (determine how to distribute)
[ ]Keep them in reserve for now

That aside you restart going on the trail, until after walking for who knows how long you reach a cave with a small stream at the side. Feeling thirsty you take a sip at the water after observing it to make sure it was potable, before you took a step to enter the cave.

Quest Alert!
Defeat the Boss and return home as a hero!
Defeat the mysterious boss and return home.
Success: +300xp, +1 skill book, +1 bonus stat point
Failure: Death
Accept/Refuse

"Seriously? For such a low reward I can get the chance of death? That's bullshit!" You yell at the injustice of it, though there isn't much else to do if defeating this boss is necessary to return home. "What's a skill book?" You ponder, you never heard of something like that before? Is it a book with a skill you can learn? Sounds logical at least.

Clicking accept you entered the cavern which was empty of enemies, and oddly illuminated by random cracks in the walls before you enter a chamber which was pitch black, that is until you took a single step closer and torches automatically lit up to lead the way. "Creepy", you mutter before going forwards.

At the end of the path you see there is a room illuminated by a large hole in the ceiling, some kind of seal circle appearing being evident on the ground. As you fully entered the room the path that you came back closed in itself with the rock forming a spiral pattern door lock. Back in the other side of the room there is a large stone slap, smoothly carved with gibberish on it.

Before you could do anything further however the seal work lighted up, light tentacles coming out from the center as if looking for something. It quickly reached into you before it pulled something from yourself as if sucking from a straw, and you saw your chakra drop by 100 points. It was a good thing that it had already restored itself back to full before you entered this cave. As the stolen chakra slowly reached the center, a bright explosion engulfed the place with lots of smoke, and when you looked back you saw a black silhouette around your size in stark contrast with the white background the light of the ceiling gives.

"That looks oddly familiar", you mutter as you notice the being in front of you is carrying a kunai in his hand, just like you. It takes a fighting stance, just like you, and slowly starts to approach.

"Uh oh", you say before getting int your own stance. The battle has just started and you're lucky it didn't use the time you were staring at it to charge at you.
