A Little Vice (Trans Magical Girl fic)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I get the oddest feeling that the sinners here are not necessarily as evil as your typical magical girl monster of the week type show would depict. As a matter of fact, a rather opinion, I suppose I find that there is someone passing out magical powers to young girls on both sides of the equation to be highly suspicious. Kind of makes me wonder who gave the Saints, their powers, and whether or not, they could be morally deficient.

At the same time, it DOES feel as if the leader of the Sin-side of things, Mr. Incel Noir Pride The Third, is, like, legitimately obviously fucking terrible.

I've seen quite a few magical girl stories where the lower level villains are perfectly decent people and their boss is the really evil one. That seems to be in effect here.

This naturally leads to the friendship arc of the low level villains being defeated then befriended before turning around and defeating their old boss. Gay overtones are not required but highly encouraged.

This doesn't really feel like a twist Magical Girl setting where the bad guys are actually the good guys or anything. The Dark Magical Girls being not so bad just encourages future befriending.

On a different track, I wonder what Sin Seed C has. I'm betting on Envy.

Yeah, basically everything involving him kind of gave me these mad Penelope spectra vibes. Do you suppose that like drawing out the darkness and others like that like make him stronger because if that is the case, then the opposite Grosso be true, how do you say it in feelings of hope and joy and light and all that Hoohah is inspired around them, that they, then they may be defeated more easily, like I'm picturing the magical girls and question using the powers of hope like magic or whatever and just turning this big dark scary dragon dude into it diamond little, baby lizard, shadow, and then keeping him in a jar.

It's darkly humorous how Avaritia explains away Superbia Dragon being awful as "oh hes just a boomer, if you couch things in terms of expressing your sin he might not really get it but he'll mostly let you be". Reminds me a bit of the advice to tell bigoted religious relatives that you've got a soul of one gender in a non matching body since they might be able to understand/accept that better.

Do remember that Inessa had been noted to have an infatuation with Lupin, Avaritia's human guise.

Gay overtones present and accounted for.

On the one hand, you'd kind of expect the sin of colossal pride to lead to an uglier personality than, say, the sin of sloth.

(pictures an actual cuddly sloth)

Then again, in the wastelands of late-stage capitalism, we could certainly imagine a personification of greed being really fucking evil, whereas this story's version is, if I'm not misunderstanding the plot, a wolfgirl who doesn't even seem that bad except insofar as she's literally on Team Evil.

Don't be silly, would a face like this lie?

That's not even an overtone at this point, that's just the fundamental frequency.

I will say, I really like the impression that Superbia is just watching Jordan Peterson videos. He's watching Jordan Peterson talk about defeating the chaos dragon with the ring of order by cleaning your room or whatever, and he's like: Look Avaritia, I'm on television, they're talking about me, I'm famous. And ey are like: I miss Gula. Save me.

I got the impression that Avaritia didn't actually like Gula that much? Like, she misses her, obviously, but didn't she say that Gula was super annoying at some point?

You know, it seems like using envy magic to be a magical girl when what you're most envious of is being a magical girl would be kind of self-limiting.

Yeah, I think the impression is that they had a falling-out of some kind and Avaritia is trying to pretend she TOTALLY doesn't miss her at all.

She shook her head, "What I'm saying is that this will be good for you! And, like, you have a real need for the power and I just so happen to need a cute partner now that Gula's," something caught in her throat and she shook her head side to side. "Nope, not moping about her right now, this is C time!"

Superbia read the Fountainhead once and now thinks he has solved moral philosophy.

My assumption was that they didn't like her much when she was around, but after losing her they're trying to ignore how much they miss her.

"Avaritia... Avaritia we need to become post-modern Marxists. We need to destroy traditional values Avaritia!"

"Are you drunk again?"
