Giant frikkin dragons, crazy magic, the whole ash lake thing, souls being used as currency. You know, the neat-o darksouls things.

EDIT: Oh boy! I know this setting, now I can make less stupid decisions!

How reliable is Lousie's lightning bolt? It would make short work of the hydra, I think.
Do we have a way to regenerate our magic inside the tree? If we wait in there, will it restore over time?
Souls as currency isn't that unusual for a master conjuror, but yeah, he won't be happy about the dragons.

As for the Lightning Bolt... she probably shouldn't use it in combat just yet unless desperate. I also don't remember if Hydra's have the standard dragon weakness to lightning, so I'll need to look it up.

Also

I gave up on the lower body after getting frustrated from dealing with the bane of my existence; fingers.

Looks alright. Looks like you used pen for the tongue, which makes it stand out a bit too much. Fingers are mainly a balance between showing that there are knuckles and making sure that they don't look too long or gnarly or fat. In some ways the anime style of the piece makes it a lot easier, because the fingers don't have to be that realistic.

It is actually a colored pencil like the others, I'm not sure how it managed to end up that drastically different. My guess is the scanner, because it doesn't look that dark on the original. I suck at any attempt at photo-realism, so the fact that Louise is an anime character is the only reason I tried.

Nice! Art is always appreciated!

Imo left arm looks a little stiff, you could have it bent slightly maybe if you'd like. (critique is good, right?)

I love the colors and hair and clothes and things! Also, I'm totally a sucker for colored pencil.

I was trying to make it look like the arm is hanging limp, but now it looks like its missing an elbow instead and I also I bandaged to wrong arm anyway. Oops?

Yay Dark Souls

[X] Grab the girl and retreat-
-[X] Into the nearby tree.
-[X] have louise minion attack and distract the hydra.

Courageously Running Away
Reaching out as the massive reptile soars overhead, you snatch Louise around the waist and sprint for a hole in the nearby tree. Ears ringing, you barely hear the girl say something to her minion.

With another terrible roar, the hydra crashes back into the depths. The ashen ground slides beneath your feet as waves wash against the beach, undoing much of your progress. The girl screams and swings her sword over your shoulder and you hear an explosion seconds before two heads slam down in your path, more impacts to each side. As the creature rears back, you thrust your staff toward your destination, hastening your escape now that you are sure you won't be flying directly into an attack.

Mist sprays over the two of you as you land inside the rock-like roots of the humongous tree. Peeking back outside, between blasts of water you see that one of the heads is now sporting a blackened hole where an eye should be. The zombie pulls itself from the ash, broken legs creaking as they snap back into place to heal, only to be slammed into the dirt once more by one of the serpent's heads. The corpse latches onto the creature's scales with two of it's arms, using two swords in it's other set to carve away at the face.

Whistling in appreciation, you set your apprentice down. "Good aim." You say, patting her head. "Come along, let's not wait around to see how many hits this plant can take."

The girl doesn't respond, simply following with her head down as you head deeper into the tree. Up the root and sprinting past a gap in cover, spotting a coiled sword in a pile of ash on the other side of your Oblivion gate. Walking through the hole in the trunk, you find that the entire tree is hollow, though not empty.

Gnarled roots and vines wind around each-other as they rise into the dim light above. Giant mushrooms sprout from the walls, reminding you of Morrowind due to how they seem to have grown to form platforms for the denizens to walk on. Dark-skinned reptilian limbs can be seen through the tangled mass of flora overhead. Of more immediate concern however, is what appears to be a family of mushroom people

If hes every going to be flabbergasted by something its probably a family of mushroom people.

I think its best to go fast if we dare venture above... those petrifying death frogs still give me nightmares.

Nah, he's heard of crazier things than walking mushrooms. Tamriel has a race of Intelligent alien God-trees that use biokinesis on swamp creatures to make creatures such as the Argonians, a man infecting plants with vampirism and feeding them his blood, and migratory forests.

I have created a similar, but modified version of the Dark Souls system for the Soul Reinforcement.
Soul Reinforcement is reflected physically. For example, physically stronger npc characters in the series are larger. This applies to your party as well. Strength plus dex makes them wiry like Artorias, pure strength creates muscular figures, high Resistance potentially alters appearance as well.

Stat meanings
Vitality = Cold DEF/DT up

Attunement = Magicka cap

Endurance = stamina/Lightning DEF/bleed resist

Strength = Carry weight/melee damage/strength

Dexterity = Melee speed/agility /manual dexterity

Resistance = Physical DEF/Poison Resist /Heat DEF

Faith = Strength of Miracles/Decreases mental DEF

Humanity = All Defenses UP/Curse Resist UP

-----------------------------------------5 is average adult-------------------------------------------

DT: Damage threshold, determines the amount of damage one can withstand and remain combat effective. increases linear with Vitality. If 5 is average, 10 is peak human.

Mental DEF: Represents one's ability to break through illusions and resist mind control. decreases linearly as Faith increases above average. If 5 is average, 10 is frequent worship, 30 is saintly, 40 is zealotry. Does not necessarily mean religious, I just used that for the analogy. Cynric believes that gods exist, he just doesn't have faith in them.
The numbers other than percentages will be mostly for measuring exactly how you compare to standard humans, getting decapitated with a Vitality of 100 will still kill you, it will just be more difficult to accomplish for someone who lacks the strength and reach to cut through your entire neck. Losing an arm however, will hinder but won't stop you from fighting with a high enough DT.
Starting stats:

Vitality = 7

Attunement = 15

Endurance = 6

Strength = 5

Dexterity = 5

Resistance = 5

Faith = 0

Humanity = 0

------------------------------attributes based on above stats----------------------------------

Physical DEF = 10

Bleed Resist = 0%

Poison Resist = 0%

Curse Resist = 0%

Magic DEF = 50%

Heat DEF = 0%

Lightning DEF = 0%

Cold DEF = 0%
Starting stats:

Vitality = 3

Attunement = 70

Endurance = 2

Strength = 3

Dexterity = 10

Resistance = 5

Faith = 10

Humanity = 0

------------------------------attributes based on above stats----------------------------------

Physical DEF = 10

Bleed Resist = 0%

Poison Resist = 0%

Curse Resist = 0%

Magic DEF = 0%

Heat DEF = 0%

Lightning DEF = 0%

Cold DEF = 0%

I hope that makes sense.
Edit: I posted the stats in the newly redone Character sheet

Cynric has 15 Attunement, Louise has 70, and that correlates directly to magicka cap. So she's got almost five times as much magicka as a guy with the Atronach birth sign? Fuck. She's a beast.

Though some of it is due to Cynric being slower to increase in raw power due to less practice over the years than a mage with naturally regenerating magicka, his increased magicka at birth still puts him at a respectable level when compared to the average mage.(not those like Vanus Gallerion or Heroes) Louise is just an aberration because of all the unique circumstances surrounding her. I'd almost suspect her to be an experiment to create a super-mage if she was from any other setting.

what

I've heard of the trees, but not the biokinesis part...
You have any links on that stuff? Sounds interesting. I don't think I'm going to get many results from searching "man infecting plants with vampirism and feeding them his blood"

Sure thing.
Here is the journal of the man who performed Vampire plant experimentation. Experimenting with Vampirism is considered by most to be a form of necromancy and possible daedra worship. You shouls still search that phrase on google.... for science.

For the other question, look in the Appearance and Physiology of the link. The Hist controls all aspects of the Argonians, whom they are mentioned to have made, both the body and the soul. Hist trees made many argonians stronger around the time of the Oblivion crisis so that they could counter invade Mehrunes Dagon's realm in a tide of saurian flesh and claws until the portals in Black Marsh were closed by the would-be invaders.
