Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Okay, analysis complete.
Once I put it into a good format and added the few extras I wanted, it will have more than 2k words.

Hey @Rukia, do I get EXP for that? :V:V

You are only woken once in the night, a passing animal of some sort, a large dog or a small wolf but it only stops nearby for a short while before moving on. Eventually you wake with the sun, your sense alerting you to the sudden rise in temperature around you.
This makes me wonder if Cerys' sense can ever be overloaded. You know like going from someplace dark to really bright really fast, but with temperature.

Maybe?
I don't want to start giving out XP every time someone does an analysis (Sinarblood would farm that like a hoe), but if it's well done then I'll give you some.

It was mostly a joke, actually.
It is just... this will probably be longer than some of your shorter updates, so I figured this would be my only chance to fit it in without sounding like too much of a douchebag.

1. Observations and Conclusions

Characters
Cerys

-Age 13
--Date of Birth: 7th of July
--this means that she was 10 when she ran away from home

-probably only basic education, vast deficites in educational knowledge and common knowledge

-Is a light sleeper
[Source: IGNITION'S RECUPERATION]

-can differentiate foul breath from alcoholic residue
[Source: CONTEMPLATION]

-was moderately to heavily injured at least twice before the Quest began
[Source: IGNITION'S RECUPERATION]

-never really lived in the wilderness during her time on the streets; she kept to urban areas and centers of civilisation
[Source: The fact that Wilderness Survival was not a part of her skills in the beginning]

-has detailed knowledge about areas she never traveled through, yet lacks all knowledge about what is going on in the world
[Source: IGNITE SHOPPING]

-Conjecture: mentally damaged due to having to live on the streets for several years and having to take care of Una during that time
--Addendum: Cerys took part in several illegal activities, among them the disposal of a corpse, for money
[Source: CONTEMPLATION]

-with how fast and directed she reacted to the demon after the initial shock wore down, she has a good head on her shoulders and can stay -reasonably- calm even in mortal danger and while plagued by immense pain
[Source: IGNITE ENGINE, IGNITION SISTER]

--this ability of hers is compromised when she has to protect Una at the same time and/or when something unexpected happens; the latter is less likely because the demon was definitely not expected and she still reacted quickly
[Source: IGNITE ESCAPE, LOOTING INTERRUPTED]

-based on the previous point, Cerys is also unreasonable and/or highly determined regarding Una; to the point where she throws her own safety to the wind and treks through the streets while bleeding and hurting just to make sure she is okay
[Source: IGNITION SISTER]

--Addendum: Cerys is also fiercely protective of Una, to the point of obsession
[Source: Read any update containing both of them]

--Addendum: Their relationship is more that of mother and child

-Rather strong for her age, not due to magical reasons
[Source: SURPRISE ABS]

Important note for everyone: Do not let Una get harmed.
Una

--Addendum: Learned some Kanjis somehow
[Source: Comment from QM; Post #599]

[Source: IGNITION SISTER and many more]

-Might have hidden urges to set everything on fire
[Source: WOODLAND ADVENTURE: DAY 1]

-thinks that Cerys is lesbian
--Addendum: She may know better about this than Cerys herself
--Addendum: Circumstancial correct, seeing that Cerys' preferences were overwritten

-a little weak for her age
[Source: SURPRISE ABS]

-has decent knowledge about magic and current world history

5. What Day is It?

Current Date:
It is Monday, the 9th of June
As of this Update

If you find inconsistencies, mistakes, wrong interpretations or just have something to add, please tell me so I can make this better and more thorough.

Ugh, so much work... but I am somewhat happy with this.

I'm fairly certain this is badly inaccurate. The only situation in which we know this to have occurred is in the wake of what amounts to a major civil crisis, where large chunks of the town actually burned down and there were significant casualties.

Edit:
There's also a whole lot of observations, but basically no analysis. You present a very bare-bones set of data, but you aren't doing anything with it.

Hm... I doubt that. Looters were already a problem before the assault happened, or Cerys would not have already been cautious of them at that point.

Hm... point... partly.
I have mostly been analysing what was written, which comes over as observations. However, the set is too bare-bones to do anything big with it.

I don't want to start giving out XP every time someone does an analysis (Sinarblood would farm that like a hoe),

I am shocked and dismayed my good sir. I'd never.

So if someone has time at hand, it would be really nice for them to actually go over what we did with our magic, how things started to work and which ideas we had but never worked on. I just note things I find while skimming the parts where we do magic.

Well probably not now, I could whip an analysis of that up later, probably won't have time for it today, and might not have time for a re-read and in depth anaylsis tomorrow. The good news though is that after work on Sunday my next work day is next Saturday unless something comes up so I have plenty time for analysis after that!

:V

Now for vote:

[X] Go Outside
-[X] Practice trying to hide your magic through the heat and invisible fire methods you thought of before

Getting this down before we hop continent will probably make us substantially harder to be located by the Light because they would be looking on the wrong continent and hopefully our method of hiding our magic will make it harder to discern that we left it.

[X] Go Outside
-[X] Practice trying to hide your magic through the heat and invisible fire methods you thought of before

This I can get behind.

By the way, did I mention that I adore the fact one can interlace the accordions? It looks so neat...

I always have to remind myself not to put a third layer into these, simply because people on phone probably would get an aneurysm from that.

This pleases me.
+ 20xp

Not going to comment on any speculations about the world situation.

The only thing that I will mention is that the enemy profile is mostly right.
The actual enemy has 300 base damage because they have a weapon. (Their Ax)
Their base resilience is normally 50-150, but this one was kind of shit. (They are tougher as they grow older, but for simplistic purposes I'll probably just average it out to 100.)

Curse of Weakness is an on-hit spell. The casters MM must be higher then the defenders, otherwise it does nothing.
It lowers the targets physical damage output by 15%. (Only works if they are using a physical weapon, doesn't effect ranged damage.)

Okay, I fixed the demon's profile... and changed the name of this thing; it really is no actual analysis.
What it is, however, is a gathering of data and sources for someone who does make an analysis to work with.

By the way @Rukia, could I get this threadmarked? I want to add more data as the story progresses, so I would like to find it again later.

Furthermore, I had an idea on what to do with our time. Una would probably be bored out of her mind again... so...

[X] Go Outside
-[X] Ask Morgan whether she could try teaching Una to do some kind of magic?
-[X] Practice trying to hide your magic through the heat and invisible fire methods you thought of before

Hrm? I'm curious. Why the whole hide magic thing? I mean, wouldn't it be bad to do this? The invisible fire part at least?

I personally want to practice sword techniques because we really should aim to be competent. At this point we are more likely to hurt ourselves using the sword than the enemy.

Given that we are not subtle in the slightest, I'd much rather work on learning to fight good for when we inevitably get caught by whoever happens to be chasing us at that particular moment

Hence the swording
