Well so do we...
Significantly better in fact. Probably better than the BB engines though I could be wrong on that.
Still we're about to get even better once the hyper reactor is finished.
And even more so when we finally get to do the upgrades to the other reactors.
Speed is relative.
A cruiser with our engines and normal armour is likely to be faster than a cruiser with our engines and UDE armour.

Considering Vanaheim focuses on speed and that the Trust navy is mostly taken from Vanaheim… might need a rethink in doctrine if the Trust wants to make extensive use of it.

Perhaps, but the Avernite and Midgardian navy's are focused on being bricks, as is a substantial portion of the trust fleet. I'm pretty sure we already have decent doctrine for it, and against Orks, harrasment actions with a fast fleet are gonna be very important, so we can't abolish our fast elements first policy.

Hell, fast elements are very important against anyone we can kite, and that's basically everyone except the elder and necrons. We're bullshit like that.

Also, this stuff seems perfect for fortresses and orbital defenses.

On another note does anyone know how Midgards navy is doing? I wonder if they've matched us yet? I wonder if they even plan to.

Also, next round of EM increases we should expand our fleet. We designed it to be fairly affordable a hundred or so years ago, when we had a fraction of our advanced manufacturing. Our ground forces have rightly been favoured since, as that is our specialty, but our fleet expenditure is tiny compared to our ground troops.

Yeah at the speed of light...

Ok bad science joke aside,

1. Why would the Vanir start using this? They get to decide what they use if they think its not useful for them they won't bother with it. Its mostly useful for us cause we do planetary and ship to ship assault.
2. If the Astartes had superior engines and reactors to ours back in the days of the Imperium I will be surprised (maybe as good as the ones we had before the Urd, but not as good after it or as good as the hyper reactor.)
3. Given its some astartes super metal it might be absurdly strong while really light as well. Who knows we're getting Angel Steel and that somehow does it.

Still producing it should be less of an issue for us, we have a planet which is nothing, but volcanoes and hopefully and a high grav planet/can simulate one.

[X] Plan Generous Trade

I'm in agreement with Enjou's rational. Also, being generous here might help reduce the malus from our Ruthless trait if the decision is IC.

That said, it will probably be some time before we can afford to have Tranth work on figuring out alloys and the like. We're probably going to need to switch our extra Mechanicus action back over to Scott to expand our RM production once Tranth finishes the overcharged reactor design just to cover our current upkeep, let alone the extra we'll need to start producing Exterminatus weapons at the scale we need.

Then once the forge expansions on Avernus are done we're going to want to finally start examining and upgrading Sanctus Furorem, which is going to tie up two actions for another turn plus. Still, having a hero Titan that can shred through normal Titan and city defenses will be more than worth it, as will the significant ideological boost it will give the progressive faction.

Hopefully when they hand the stuff over they're handing over all of the things (such as how to make it) so the number of actions we have to do is minimised.

Really the one I expect to take the most actions is taking the Baal Predator's engine and re-configuring it for other tanks.

Though of course I have been wrong many times, perhaps we have to work with Jotunheim and Muspelheim to set up production of the Super Dense alloy (which should be easish, though not cheap, for us to produce compared to everywhere else).

Angel Steel should DIY though unless there are research actions for it.

About what I expected besides the lack of technomancy. Sigh.

At least our AM problems will be solved really soon.

AM issue is being worked on, it's RM that's a problem right now. Why is our Relic upkeep so expensive? Is it because we're making Super-Exitus Rifles for the Elite Operatives?

It cost RM to start on the Exterminatus project

Cost: 200,000,000 Thrones, 20,000,000 Material, 2,000,000 Promethium, 395,000 Advanced Material, 9,900 Exotic Material, 10 Relic Material.

And maybe some per turn maintaining our Super Elites gear and the elites themselves.

Possibly additional costs from Vortex torpedoes and RM from Batch 2 of the super elites.

As for making Super Exitus... who knows.

I'm all for being generous to the nest now since it means that we buff them and giving the chance to tech up as soon as possible before the super orks get here.

@Durin Would the nest be interested in recruiting young psykers to turn into Librarians once we gain some trust with them? Psykers are pretty rare as is but Avernus has loads of them, not mention that they live on a planet that is perfect for recruiting potential Space marines. They also come with the potential benefit of being neo astropaths who are far better than normal ones.

Nah mate, let's keep our primari candidates for ourselves, and perhaps the guard. I'm not even pro letting them recruit Avernites. While we should be able to keep up with the demand for aspirants for the VG, I wouldn't want them losing out on the best possible candidates.

Great doubts that would be the case, astartes don't like people messing with their aspirants

And transportation young psykers several months through all the way there.

They've probably got several hive worlds to recruit psykers from as well.

Those hive world's probably don't produce as many high tier psykers as we do, even put together.
Doubt it. As soon as we get surplus AM our advisors will provide us with even more expensive actions. Actions that the thread, as lovers of all things shiny, will no doubt vote for.
We need a new battleship! And power armour for our pdf, and elite armoured Helguard, oh and titans! Don't forget the titans!
