I will note that since we crowned Alicent as our Queen of Love and Beauty wouldn't picking the Knight option more or less out to the entire realm that we are involved with Alicent?
Picking the romantic option and revealing ourselves later does the same thing, only putting it off a bit in exchange for being even more obvious what we're about.

YES YES YES!!!

I admit I couldn't help myself and snuck a peek at the end of the update to spare myself the stress of guessing. Still, one hell of a dramatic fight! "The better man won" hahahaha.

[X] [Defiant] [To Become A Knight] Face Lord Manderly and reveal yourself to the crowd as Rhaenyra Targaryen.

No other choice for me, really. We could fight in another tourney, but the thing is, doing that after not revealing ourselves as the Silver Falcon would diminish the reputational impact of having been the Silver Falcon. We have to get the wild rumors started Right Here, Right Now.

...I can just imagine the cheers turning to shocked silence and then booing, but them's the breaks. Rhaenyra is strong, and her dream is burning bright; she'll withstand this.

No. It's a gesture, and not always a romantic one.

Rhaegar's use of it was fucked up because he was married, and Lyanna was engaged to someone else.

Why would that diminish it? If anything it would build it up IMO.

Not really. Since there isn't really precdent for everything Rhaenyra has done It would be easy for everyone to believe she crowned her out of their friendship, specially since Alicent Is her official Lady-in-waiting

You can crown someone Queen of Love and Beauty without being connected to romantic interest, like a hedge-knight crowning the wife of their Lord. It Is problematic when the woman in question Is engaged or the winner Is a married man

It's not as if waiting for Highgarden to reveal ourselves invalidates the achievements here. The Silver Falcon winning another major tourney in the Reach will have even more impact than just the Northern Tourney on it's own.

No. Alicent has put thought into this and has a prepared excuse for Rhaenyra to use, remember she very specifically wanted Rhaenyra to do this if she was gonna do the knightly, because a knight should behave like a knight.

Consider being able to tilt openly as Ser Rhaenyra at Highgarden, resplendent in black armor and a high dragon-helm.

I think this plays into alicent's belief in duty and us taking ours seriously. Also we could possibly be taken more seriously and possibly openly.

Also gotta fuck over Peake.

Rhaegar caused a scandal because there was no other way to read his actions beyond Romantic intent. They weren't established friends, she wasn't the daughter or wife of the lord hosting the event. Not to mention his wife was literally there.

Honestly I would love be to romantic with Alicent, I really would, but I don't think my heart could take the stress from ANOTHER jousting roll against Criston Cole.

One was enough for a lifetime.

Alicent and Rhaenyra have already talked about it, and she's okay with it

More than okay, actually
Alicent actively wanted to be crowned the queen of love and beauty as a big gesture of their knightly romance
And she's reasonably confident she can provide an excuse to onlookers that obviously Rhaenyra couldn't crown anyone else, so her "close friend" and handmaid was the only reasonable option available

"When I win," you assured her, "you'll be crowned the Queen of love and beauty."

Alicent's face turned an adorable shade of red.

"You're fine with that, right?" you asked as you placed a hand on her shoulder. "It is a very open gesture."

"I don't think it is," Alicent replied. "When you win and you reveal yourself, if anyone asks, it will be easy to explain there was no way you could give the crown to any man who had your affections. That might be taken as a serious insult. So instead you gave it to your good friend and handmaiden."

"That should work," you nodded.
And Alicent had made clear from the start of their relationship that she wants Rhaenyra to crown her if she wins a tourney

And on that note
[X] [Defiant] [To Become A Knight] Face Lord Manderly and reveal yourself to the crowd as Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Stick to the script
We had all this planned out for a reason, and it's gone wonderfully according to plan

There is no guarantee that we'll be able to do this again at Highgarden

On the other hand, once we unmask, he may well aim to kill if we ever face him in the lists again (I don't imagine we'll stop doing tourneys altogether even if we get a knighthood out of this one, they just won't be so high-stakes in terms of fulfilling our dreams).

Ok, let's do this...
[X] [Defiant] [To Become A Knight] Face Lord Manderly and reveal yourself to the crowd as Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Seeing how well we did in this Grand Tourney we have the knighthood assured... Which means that we will have much more time to engage in conversations or doing diverse activities during this Royal Progress, instead of focusing on earning the Knighthood...

And now for something completely different: besides Ser Raylon and Alicent (whom we've taken into our confidence), and Ser Gwayne (whom the update all but tells us has figured it out), do we believe anyone else has an inkling as to the Silver Falcon's identity?

Not any named character, but it is unavoidable that some of the servants we have brought with us in the Royal Progress have recognized our armor (since they are the ones that clean, fix, and store it)...

Hmm, so as far as it goes we probably should do a bit of practice against Northern Warriors, and probably one or two 'training' actions over the course of the rest of the Progress just to keep sharp, but we probably don't have to do much more than that.

Agreed, we've been prowess maxxing for so long, and we got the Master of Laws position to get ready for, outside of a few more duels to impress upon Lords that the rumours of our skill are true, the next actions we take should be social and maybe studying actions.

Then again a lot of us already agreed to talk with Gwayne in Turn 12 about Alicent anyways, and we have been negelecting Syrax a bit.
