From that perspective becoming part of a new primordial growing out of an infernal could be seen as a form of change more than a form of subsumption.
You forget the Primordials all low-key consider everybody not themselves to be completely insane. These are beings that managed to create a personality, and identity out of infinity shifting tide. They simple cannot view anyway of thinking beside their own as workable, or they would not have been able to create themselves.

So I slept on it some.

I believe that Proxy Servant Protocol will cause problems due to how it encourages paranoia essence spending and aiming for 'perfect' instead of 'adequate' results in every team combat encounter at the cost of making them all more expensive which will increase the effectiveness of mote draining tactics being used on us by a noticeable degree and decrease our combat power during back to back combat heavy time sensitive Arcs if we end up in fights with not enough essence to spare to activate our normal combat suit because we kept using PSP to get maximum results out of party members during every combat scene when it wasn't necessarily needed and they've made do without such before now.


In the most recent Arc we ended up starting a fight with the final boss with 2 motes without this sort of Charm being passively used. Scenes were said way earlier to last 15 min by the GM. It's only because the GM was being rather generous that our Shintai and scene long excellencies were still in effect by the time we had to fight him.


Hopefully if we end up with PSP spam becoming a staple of party combat going forward Violence is Worship will handle the increased drain so that we can still afford our normal combat effects and the like in back to back no regen time in between time sensitive combat Arcs.

Otherwise this could become a deeply unpleasant experience if it ties up our essence.



Looking at the other option.

Endless Torment Emanation is good for war and factions we don't like, like the Denarians and we are at war now. VEE would give immediate benefits since we could use it to give our friends an escape button to a Sanctuary hospital and that's not even getting into its actual wish granting ability. Maybe we can finally get a long range attack charm next XP vote as has been discussed for months now, by multiple people, for several XP votes since early this year.

I didn't think about it but I probably should have tried to make time to write up and advertise my own vote but I'm not all the way here right now.

He's had ages to get worn away, and lost his memories to boot, so it's hard to tell. The exaltation sheltered him, but only so much because he was a hanger on and not part of it intrinsically.

Also worth considering that the nature of Molly's relationship with him is very different than the one he'd have had with most viewpoint characters.

He's basically part of Molly's soul structure now. Molly is the fetitch soul of the primordial she's becoming, so the relationship is more like how one of Malfeas' third circles would interact with Ligier than how Ligier might interact with someone external.

Not saying he definitely is, but if this line of reasoning has any substance to it then Usum would have to be something Malfeas considered worth special preservation.

This particular tinfoil hat is one I'm reluctant to take off, because it makes a lot of sense to me as a backup plan to the backup plan for the Yozi.

I'd vote for taking the Red Court or Minion protection, but I deeply dislike VEE as a charm unless you've built your entire playstyle around it. Getting it this late in the game as an unfavored hell just feels like spending 20 XP to radically change our playstyle long after we hit our stride, and not in a fun way.

Can you explain this I'm unsure of how you can build a playstyle around VEE it's a wish granting charm? That forces people to do you favors for the wish it's not really a thing to build a play style around no more than The Man Who Sold the World is.

We could play silly buggers with fate manipulation via various backgrounds. Like granting Knights of the Cross Ally: Denarians dots,arranging for mantles and possible exaltations to fall into various hands (Legend and Destiny backgrounds respectively), etc. Possibly retroactively make someone related by blood to Mab and play with those arcane links. If you are willing to go for indirect applications, VEE can be game defining.

RATIONALE
MOLLY
FSB has already been promised. Ox-Body increases Molly's HP from 15 to 19.
We had problems with having no ranged attack, and with movement speed last turn; so Sandstrike gives Molly range and Swift Stride increases her speed. Both Ox-Body and Swift Stride apply to her clones.

She gets Counterspelling(Spirit) because Thorned Namshiel and the demon lord made a pointed reminder.
Fathomless Poison Haven gives immunity to poison for Molly and her party, and it makes anyone she touches with it immune to drowning, death by water pressure, acid, etc.

Violence is Worship is Essence regen for Molly; the first time she witnesses violence or the results of violence in a scene, as long as she didnt instigate it, she gets 1m of Essence.
Which gives her a consistent drip of Essence.

Perception and Wits are necessary for detecting enemies, reading other people in social, and reflexive counterspelling respectively.
Appearance ranks up if you take the potions for the necessary time, so do so.



TIFFANY
Lore of Storms 1 allows Tiffany to summon water for free, as long as she has a water source.
Whether its drinking water, a trickle to wash her hands, a mist to hide an area from watchers, or ice to coat an area, a shower to wet down an area, or a torrential flood to carry people away. Which provides synergy with Molly's BSM.

Counterspelling(Human) because of Thorned Namshiel; it would have been the Spirit version, but
Merit: Bare Necessities gives Tiffany hammerspace for the clothes she is wearing, and small items, whenever she chooses to transform. Because Lore of Storms 2 is going to allow her to dematerialize into water for travel or to escape.

Perception is essential for detecting enemies; Tiffany fumbling the ID of Aleron LaFontaine almost got him killed.


LYDIA
Ox-Body number 4 increases Lydia's HP from 13 to 15.
Dragon Speed gives her a Dexterity buff for the entire scene.
Counterspelling because we have confirmation of hostile enemy wizards out there, and she is a less scary target than Molly is.

Bone Path Necromancy 2 is on the path to Bone Path 5, which will allow her + Tiffany to save people who are freshly dead but their souls are still there.
Which particularly might be necessary with Sanctuary citizens.


OLIVIA
Path of Hellfire 1 is a prereq to Hellfire 2 and the 2-dot ritual Hellblade, which allows her to imbue her weapon with elemental effects and to deal Agg.

Counterspelling(Spirit) because the demon lord, and the not!vampires and Namshiel demonstrated you cant have too many counterspellers in a fight.
Vengeance Flaw reduction so that she doesnt have to roll Willpower for self control under stressful circumstances

Perception to 5 for detection, and because as a gunwoman, ranged detection is critical for her.
Manipulation to 3 is necessary for Mana Manipulation

TLDR
Molly gets Essence regeneration, extra HP, extra speed, a ranged attack, more counterspelling, and the ability to make everyone in her party immune to poison and damage from liquids like acid.

Tiffany gets a new Lore that allows her to control water and weather, and hammerspace so she always has a bottle of water with her.

Lydia gets extra HP, more Shih martial arts, more counterspelling, and some necromancy.
Olivia gets counterspelling, a new Path to buff her weapon use, and finally uses her free Mana Manipulation ritual points to pick up Manipulation rituals.

And everyone gets better physical attributes.

Firmament is the one about physics, Tiffany has no real connection to that one. Also as a reminder no forge, that thing is broken as hell in this context and also it really does not fit her.

Could I get a citation on that, and maybe @DragonParadox to weigh in? I don't remember there being free rituals. We do get free recipes for Alchemy, but that's because Alchemy is only recipes, and no "freehand" magic. I am unsure if there are any for mana manipulation. If there are, I apologize for missing it and causing confusion.

The Yozi are essentially crazy primordials though. Escaping their predicament in a lot of ways requires changing their natures because of how they were mutilated.

I called it the backup plan because the primary plan was to merge with infernals so they could change in just the right way to break their bonds. This is a way worse version of the same thing in that a nucleus of their identity might be maintained, but the percentage of new stuff would be significantly higher.

Very much a gamble you take when you're incredibly screwed anyway and your first several plans have failed. The only thing it has going for them is that it's better than being completely dead.

@DragonParadox : It doesn't really matter for my vote, but I feel like there has been a miscommunication somehow. Fundament and Humanity are both common lores meaning that all angels get them as house lores by default. Now if you want to change that it's fine, but I just want to make clear that it is changing it.
 
I'm going through Ancient Sorcery, and if we're worried about the Fallen dude who can see through shadows spying on us Incantation of Spiritual Discretion should prevent that, depending on how it works. It prevents spirits or ghosts from seeing through the veil between worlds, so if he isn't physically on Earth he wouldn't be able to if I read correctly.

22st of February 2007 A.D.

I don't go out of my way to be rude, no matter what some may say to the contrary. Take today for instance, walked into my office, gulped down the coffee without any sensation beside hot, felt briefly guilty over it since Lash made one of those fancy lattes with writing in them, looked down saw what seemed like a Christmas tree '2' with a bubble coming off the side. Still on the Linear A kick looked like... My lovely companion had recently figured out that Lasciel had left her with bits and pieces of old languages, things that might conceivably help, but weren't complete enough to be full languages in her head so she had taken to mediating in order to fish out as much of it as she could. She did so while 'putting her body on auto-pilot' which is how ancient Minoan script had ended up on everything from coffee and pancakes to paper towels to walls and doorframes.

Compared to that I ask you was it so bad not to recognize the person at the door at 8:30 AM? Even if he was my boss technically and the head of the White Council and... bearing crumpets? Just as I was beginning to reassess the odds that I was in fact still dreaming he shoved them into my hands and stepped in.

"One hopes those are appropriate."

"For?" There was a lifetime of wariness in that question.

"A gift for a new parent. I was informed that I should bring either some form of baked goods or alcohol. I had no insight into your tastes in the latter so the former seemed a safe bet," he answers stiffly.

I'm going to blame the hour for what I said next too. "You weren't just worried what I'd be like if you encouraged me to drink?"

"No. I'm guessing you are more dangerous sober than three sheets to the wind," the Merlin replied taking in my office with such a complete non-reaction that it was almost a judgement in itself.

"How'd you figure that?" I challenged. 'In for the penny in for the pound', if that how they put it in Merry old England. He should be familiar with the concept them.

"Family resemblance."

Oh... I hadn't really had much time to consider the implication of the less earth-shattering of my familial revelations, specifically in light of Ebeneezer's place on the council, his history with the likes of Langtry and Listens-to-the-Wind.

"Do you have any idea where Lara Raith has been these past three weeks?" The question jarred me out of inner wondering and back into the here and now.

"Out of town is all I know and good riddance." Somehow I didn't think that would satisfy the old chap, but he only harrumphed like he was tallying against an invisible scoreboard."City's always quieter without her around to stir the pot and sip the foam off the cauldron."

For a moment he was quiet, thinking about how to ask his next question maybe, or maybe not given it was delivered with a bluntness that would do a bull in a china shop proud. "Dresden why do you do all this, the detective agency, the consulting? I know it's not for the money or I would have offered to give you a stipend to cover the expense."

"But you're not going to raise the Warden salaries are you?" Now I was getting a bit pissed, which is why it was so surprising that the Merlin laughed.

"The salary is not meant for anyone to live off of, just so that we can claim to employ all Wardens at all time for magical reasons, usually though not always relating to the Faerie courts. The true payment of a wizard is in contacts, reagents laboratory access and the ability to call on more junior wardens for your own purposes, in time of peace at least. Did you think the Council was that hard up for funds."

"I thought you'd missed inflation since the 50s or something like that," I half-grumble.

"We are old not senile Dresden." Just like that the good mood had vanished. "I would very much prefer if you moved to some place less eventful in now that you will have to take on more teaching jobs, not that I have any illusions, some at least of the eventfulness will follow but not all. There are certainly safer places to take a young child."

I opened my mouth angrily, stopped to think about it for once. "Even if I were willing to do so I can't. As of last month I'm a Warden in more ways than one."

"Pardon?" The Merlin looked me up and down as though for some strange sign.

"Out on the lake there's an island with no name, well it used to have no name before I gave it one, called it Demonreach."

And that was the first time I had heard Langtry curse, his acccent thickening as he went. "Sblood, zwounds and the rusty nails that made' em! When, how and what did you find, leave nothing out?"

"Wait a sec, I have questions too..." I started, but instead of arguing he waved it off.

"Yes, yes, I expect you do, I'll answer all I can, just start from the begining..."

OOC: Fun note Arthur is from a transitional time in the history of swearing when curses that blasphemed were still considered worse than those that had to do with bodily functions so him cursing by long form 'Gods Blood', 'Gods Wounds' and the nails that made them is deadly serious. To be fair to him he just got the news that Harry Dresden has the magical equivalent of nukes.

Could I get a citation on that, and maybe @DragonParadox to weigh in? I don't remember there being free rituals. We do get free recipes for Alchemy, but that's because Alchemy is only recipes, and no "freehand" magic. I am unsure if there are any for mana manipulation. If there are, I apologize for missing it and causing confusion.

Mana Manipulation like all sorcery comes with rituals when you learn it. Also since there does seems to be confusion on lores and I should have cleared it up before the vote, that is on me both Storms and Firament now cost 7 XP but these are the last in House lores Tiffany''s getting
