TFW a history degree needs a battleship doesn't have a explicitly written out mechanic about it, so I doubt it, deeply.

Let's double check - @Neablis, can "TFW a history degree needs a battleship" have a more nomadic playstyle (although not as explicitly nomadic as "We're going on a space adventure"?

This character is going to roam around, picking up allies and exploring the galaxy. The bonus trait means that this plan will lead to designing and then building a huge ship that will serve as a base for venturing through the stars. It will be modular and upgradable, and most of the construction and research elements of the quest will involve upgrading her ship. The trait also means she won't linger in one place for too long.

Could we build a fleet of ships that roam together (which would probably still have a significantly larger flagship), at least in the latter stages of the game, or is the emphasis strictly on having one ship only? In the latter case, I guess we could end with something on the scale of The Ship moves (although a lot less grimdark, obviously).

[X] Plan: TFW a history degree needs a battleship

I will admit that the write up for Going on an Adventure was deeply tempting, but I still have a soft spot for the scholarly nature of this plan.

The battleship literally starts in space, is all about exploring ancient sites in search for ancient history, with the very backstory of the character being about uncovering ancient history.

While, the Space Adventure starts on a planet and our early gameplay will be mostly building the spaceship in the first place. Also, the Space Adventure, despite the nomadic theme, which I admit is cool, leaves us in the most boring position imaginable. With friendly Human faction that aren't the insane, dogmatic zealots, without any knowledge about 40k Milky Way Galaxy, and with technological resistance against Chaos, instead of a cool, friendly warp entity or being created by the Golden Dude.

All in all, although I understand why people like it, adventures in spaaccceeee, it's the least appealing of the plans for me.

It can have a more nomadic lifestyle, but you're correct in assuming it's not built for it in quite the same way as as the Space Adventure plan. Every time the archaeologist wants to do some construction they'll probably have to return to an already-built up system or settle somewhere for a few turns to build up the infrastructure, and if they want a better new ship they'll probably just have to build a new one.

Yeah, both of these plans have the option of having a subsidiary fleet, though it would require some set up, primarily void abucus productoin or allied organics on their own ships. The Space Adventure plan starts with a void abacus, so it would probably be able to reverse-engineer it to build more. It also has closer access to friendly humans.

That is not in any way related to what I said, I said that TFW a history degree needs a battleship isnt about travel somthing you directly stated.

Also for the bit about starting off, this plan does not start with a method of leaving the solar system. Leaving the system is going to take a far greater amount of effort for this one. Also there are many factions surrounding the sectors I don't know why you think we will not interact with them. It's not just the one faction you hate.

Right, g'night folks, I hope to see people also wanting to go on Space Adventurers with a gaggle of weirdoes and outcasts with a build that's well suited to actually making headway and not being beholden to any powers anywhere, and just making the galaxy a better place right from the start!

What weirdos and outcast? The entire, friendly, civilization that will be our first and foremost allies when the game starts? Any wierdos will be option only later. Also, you miss the fact, that you made your plan start on a planet. Not in space.

Space adventure, that we can also do with battleship plan, by exploring the forgotten and ancient history of the galaxy and trying to piece together coherent timeline of the galactic events?

Or the fact that, having completed STC's will help much more, in making the Galaxy a better place, when it comes to things.

Also, friendly warp entity is just infinitely more interesting than either Iconoclast Humans or technological shielding.

Edit: @Neablis, just to confirm, that means the runoff vote is between these plans, correct?
Yup!

Dlan, I would like to point you towards something I wrote at the bottom of my last threadmark:
Plan owners are free to add their own arguments and propaganda in but keep it civil. Try not to make the worst possible assumptions of other people's motives or of the implications of their plans.
To my reading, you're toeing the line on civil with that last post. You've also repeated these opinions several times, stating things that are opinions as outright fact. You're making multiple claims about the implications of Alectai's plan that I am telling you are false.

So, please, chill. Let the vote happen. The outcome will be something fun regardless of which option wins.

Approval voting my favored plan and my second choice after that. "Space Adventure" seems like a solid and interesting plan to me, even if "TFW a history degree" is still my favorite.
