[X] Bubble Drive
Again, you don't see the fact that SPEED DOES NOT MATTER. Not when we have a faster option to use for things that need speed. The main problems of Warp FTL are thus:No, it's not worth it b/c I would very much would like it if the capstone to the tech tree that we spent so much effort on wasn't going to be FUCKING USELESS FOR THE REST OF THE QUEST!!!
Seriously, this goes at a snails pace that it makes it so getting around the whole Subsector would take more than a decade and very, VERY niche while Animated Metal is something that has so much more uses for us, and I'm getting really annoyed that it seems like people are getting distracted by some new shiny thing that is more likely than not going to be significantly less useful than the other option.
Wait is this true? If that's the case we could just go send a bunch of people to fuck off and live in the non-warp-connected systems. Still have to watch out for the 'nids but otherwise that would be one hell of a strategic reserve. You've just got a whole 'nother empire tucked away in the back pocket, out of sight, scouting and reach of just about everybody.1. Warp Routes don't connect to everything, there are VAST numbers of star systems that the warp currents don't reach. This would unlock them for us, only 2 other factions have easy access to them Necrons and Tyranids. Chaos could likely get to them but it would make the cost higher because they can't use the regular Warp Lanes.
For example, we should be able to develop psytech that can let a choir "act as a light house for friendly ships in the warp lanes touching the system.".Someone needs to be asking the QM if we can do X and then remember or bring it up constantly. We just need to take a fresh look at things and ask 'why is it like that?' or 'what else can we do or think of?' to see what write-in's are doable.
Not just that. Remember how we got Abyssal Eye and Mothome? We discovered new Warp Routes for them. I'm betting that we can make a Song that helps with that. It would probably work even better if we knew what was at both ends of where we wanted to connect. So slow boat to the nearest (physically) stars to our worlds, set up there and then work out a warp route. Though this is probably something that the post-quest fluff/end-post will probably talk about.Wait is this true? But we can't do that, Cooky said that the Bubble Drives don't interact well with Warp Drives and our military guys would strangle whoever tried putting one of them on their ships.4. Fortress Systems. These simply become obsolete for any force defending against a real space FTL capable civ. They allow you to simply bypass the system with a raiding force then push through the fortress when the defenses are weakened from ships being diverted to catch the raiders.
These could be helpfull:We discovered new Warp Routes for them. I'm betting that we can make a Song that helps with that.

I'd say something pithy about not turning both on at the same time but.... Well. Anyway, we don't have to have both for that kind of ship. Just the real space drive. Warp drives still takes a decent amount of time to travel between systems, its not instantaneous. More than that you just need to send enough raiders to their an enemies backlines to get the defenses of a fortress world to lower due to fleets being detached to hunt for the raiders. But we can't do that, Cooky said that the Bubble Drives don't interact well with Warp Drives and our military guys would strangle whoever tried putting one of them on their ships.
No, it was folded into General by much demand.@HeroCooky I know that Class is in Session specifically helps [Psykana], but does that apply to Psytech now that it's folded under General Research or does it formerly being Psykana and well, being Psy-tech allow for Class to help it out?
Smooth Journey
They are backwater hicks compared to the Imperium Proper. Might I remind you that the Ghoul Stars are literally a jaunt to your Galactic North-East?they used to be 7.5 before! how did the Dutchy confuse these for battleships?!
Ah, thanks for saying that! I am still underway, so if someone wants to collect all un-rolled Psykana and roll the D100s for me, I'd be much oblidged!Weaving_Dreamer said:By the way you haven't been rolling dices when doing the songs.
1. Above average. It'd be cancer. As for the mines, imagine these three scenarios;Weaving_Dreamer said:1. QM how crazy is it for the BattleColony to have 120 light macro cannons? on par? or surprising to go that much for them? How is the Battlecolony in a fight, if something did try to rush past the Citadel Heavy cruiers? since the macro canons, Heavy Missiles And Torpedoes seem hard hitting. Why Burner Seeker Mine layers though?
2. Would sending SBG's Or scouts south of our new Subsectors to check on the state of things be a write in action or free one for scouting? and would we just give out orders to our Military to head into the Sub-sectors and start conquests? just asking since we have a direction to expand now.
3. now that we increased the missile damage.... how terrifying are those Lamenter with ultra alpha strike Kopesh missile pods?
All systems can be reached by the Warp, but most don't have a world that can sustain life or carries strategic resource, so they are basically ignored by everyone...even the Warp by not making stable connections to them. And if you don't even have an unstable connection, then your journey better start with a Last Will.Wait is this true? You already do the first thanks to your most basic Songs, enabling inter-Federation travel to be much quicker as your Andromedas play "Marco Polo" with System Choirs. For example, we should be able to develop psytech that can let a choir "act as a light house for friendly ships in the warp lanes touching the system.".
And psytech that "fry parts of hostile fleets detected by [something that allows us to see when+what ships are approaching through the warp] before they even arrived."
But the Bubble Drive can get to those systems just fine if the ship has the supplies right? If so, then the Irrita will be incredibly happy - all of those systems that were previously out of reach to them will open up for terraforming. All systems can be reached by the Warp, but most don't have a world that can sustain life or carries strategic resource, so they are basically ignored by everyone...even the Warp by not making stable connections to them. They could, but then again why would they when they already have a dozen worlds within Federation Space that's ripe for terraforming and is significantly more accessible? But the Bubble Drive can get to those systems just fine if the ship has the supplies right?
