I realize it's a bit early, but, some thoughts on what deserves to get put into Bounty-

[] [General] Colonize (Planet/s)

I mean, we have the right number of colonizable planets? As good a time as any to spend an action on it, I guess.

[] [General] Terraform (Planet) - (Auto-Terraformation - 300.M43)

*shrug* I'm fine with leaving this to the auto-ticker.

-[] Titan Manufactorum Rationalization (0/2)
(Gain: Cheaper Titans)

Yes please.

-[] Rejuvenat Experimentation IIb (0/3)
(Gain: Improve Rejuvenat Access from 10% to 10.4%.)

Nnnnnope. I'm sorry, but it's just not worth it for such a small difference.

-[] Warcasket Prototypes (1/2)
(Gain: Warcaskets, the primitive version of a Dreadnought.)

Yes.

-[] Primitive Gravity-Weaponization Theory
(Gain: Primitive Grav-Weapons.)

Heck yes.

-[] Universally Effective Common Cold Vaccine (0/1)
(Gain: Universally Effective Common Cold Vaccine)

Also yes.

-[] Green Ship Teleportarium Insights? (1/4)
(Gain: Teleportarium Upgrade?)
-[] Green Ship Alloying Insights? (0/4)
(Gain: Armor Equipment?)
-[] Green Ship Structural Insights? (0/4)
(Gain: Armor Upgrades?)
-[] Green Ship Power-System Insights? (0/4)
(Gain: Void Shield Equipment?)
-[] Green Ship Inertia Compensation Insights? (0/4)
(Gain: Engine Equipment? May lead to something more...)

Yes to all of these. It's 19 actions (9.5 AP), but goddamn, getting it all done before the Necrons come (and establishing whether or not there's some extra stuff gated behind it) is absolutely worthwhile.

-[] Wetware Scout Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Scout Automata are added to your military.)
-[] Wetware Line Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Line Automata are added to your military.)
-[] Wetware Heavy Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Heavy Automata are added to your military.)
-[] Wetware Super-Heavy Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Super-Heavy Automata are added to your military.)
-[] Wetware Void Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Void Automata are added to your navy.)
-[] Wetware Civilian Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Civilian Automata begin production.)

The scouts, definitely. The rest... well, the GM seems to want it. Eh, let's do them all.

-[] Autonomous Automata !!!WARNING!!! (0/1)
(WARNING: Automata grow more capable of Independent Action.)

Nnnnope.

-[] Novel Infantry-Grade Weapons and Armor Development II (0.5)
(Gain: Infantry Weapons and Armor Upgrades.)
-[] Experimental Infantry-Grade Weapons and Armor Development (0.5)
(Gain: New Infantry Weapons and Armors.)

Absolutely yes. When life gives you lemons, grab the goddamn force-multipliers.

-[] Logistical Infantry-Grade Weapons Development II (0/1)
(Gain: Cheaper Infantry Weapons.)
-[] Logicstical Infantry-Grade Armor Development II (0/1)
(Gain: Cheaper Infantry Armor.)

Dunno how far we can push these before hitting diminishing returns, but as it stands, being able to get more troops our best equipment is worthwhile.

-[] Ship Equipment Standardization - [1 DP Equipment] (1/3)
(Gain: Standardize 1 [One] 1 DP Ship Equipment across all new Designs.)

We know it gets twice as good with the Symphony, so, yes. This is effectively an upgrade to all our military ships.

-[] Shipyard Automatization III (1/2)
(Gain: 1 Frigate every Turn.)

Automatization has been extremely good for us in the past.

-[] Long-Range Atevrian Sightlense (0/2)
The Atevrian Sightlense is a specially prepared Lance weapon whose lenses have been carved with Sigils and Holy Geometry. At the moment of fire, the weapon's waste energy curves and channels into the Warp from its apparatus, drastically enhancing its fire rate and range.
(Gain: Long-Range Atevrian Sightlense - 5 DP Weapon. Requires a Choir to operate.)

Dunno if it'll be better than what we get from researching Necron tech, but it's good to have options.

-[] Silent Shimmershroud (0/2)
The Shimmershroud is a massive dispersion engine capable of twisting the position of the vessel it is installed upon within the Materium, reducing the damage the same takes by virtue of simply not existing where hostile munitions pass through, while also masking its emissions to make it even harder to hit.
(Gain: Silent Shimmershroud - 11 DP Equipment. Requires a Choir to operate.)

Kind of expensive... but might make for a damn good Battleship.

-[] Ears of Hare Bnuy (1/2)
The Ears of Bnuy are an homage to the First Hymnal, an extension to a ship mounted atop its bridge section, channeling emissions into its targeting systems to increase the hit rate against elusive targets. For some reason they are not merely a machine installed atop the bridge, but an ethereal simulacrum of the ears of Celestial Bnuy.
(Gain: Ears of Hare Bnuy - 8 DP Equipment.)

...It occurs to me that this could be very, very good if paired with the Atverian Sightlense.

-[] Twisted Knotted Vinelloy (0/2)
This Psytech is a living organism spread over a ship's hull, specifically grown and tuned by an onboard Choir to rapidly self-repair any damage inflicted by the enemy, while providing minor anti-boarder defenses.
(Gain: Twisted Knotted Vinelloy - 15 DP Equipment. Requires a Choir to operate.)

Again... bit expensive.

-[] Newly Improved Psyker Staves (2/5)
The ability to create psychic focii is no longer a mere beginner's art within the Glimmering Federation, and with knowledge and familiarity comes the ability to strive further than yesterday. With The Sun Melody having become a measuring stick upon which one can see progress, it is estimated that further refinement will be capable of reducing the damages incurred into "mere" full-body third-degree burns.
(Gain: Improves Choir efficiency and might when using Songs and Melodies.)

Absolutely.

-[] Newly Improved Psychic Hoods (0/5)
Thanks to the work done in figuring out how to psychically tune and shape cloth and metals to weave together into one whole, a "Psychic Hood" for the layperson, the Celestial Choir is eager to not only begin large-scale dissemination of knowledge and practice but also delve deeper into their understanding of how they function and can be improved.
(Gain: Improved Psychic Hoods are equipment that shields your Psykers from backlash to varying degrees.)

It's painful that we need 5 actions for it... but it needs to be done.

[] Duel Of The Fates (2/12)

I mean... at the rate it's going... it's gonna take twenty actions, and we have cause to believe there's a nasty surprise waiting for us. Might be worth taking a look.

[] [Military] Create Grand Army (Write-in Name) for (Sub-Sector) or Knight Order (Write-in Name)

We got enough ground forces at the moment, and we'll be able to produce them far more efficiently if we improve our logistics research.

[] [Military] Sector Battle Group Construction And Repair

This does need to be done, but we want to use our new research to design better ships first.
...Well, maybe one action, just to be fase.

[] [Military] Construct God-Engines (20x Grandis (0/2), 10x Modeste Immensus (0/3), 4x Immensa Immensus (0/3), 2x Magnificus (0/4), 1x Momentus (0/6), 1x Deus Machina (0/10))

...Tempting, but let's research rationalized Titan construction first.

[] [Military] The Ancient's [Bone-Mender Temple/Jubilant Den] - (Write-In Military Forces)

Not the time.

[] [Military] Begin Military Operations (Assign SAG/s) (Choose Location/s) (Designate Objective/s)

See above.

[] [Psykana] Conduct Six Melodies (0.2/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
[] [Psykana] Sing two Songs (Choose at least Three below.) - (0.0/1 - Auto Complete) - [N/A]
[] [Psykana] Sing a Symphony (Choose Five Songs)

I mean, it's not a bad time and we need them all?

[] [Psykana] Warp Observatory (1/3)

Needs to be done, one way or another.

[] [Chapter] A Barge For Battle (2.5/4)

I am actually entirely OK with spending an action on it - hurrying up the Lamenters' development could actually be pretty good.

[] Plan Look Both Ways Before Crossing the Rubicon
-[] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand (Start going through Archwan)
-[] Deactivate Heartbeat of Industry, put 100 Choirs on Foretold Luminous Paths Seen, keep 50 Choirs free and rest towards Hiss of Steam Valves.
-[] [Psykana] Warp Observatory (1/3) X2
-[] [Psykana] Sing two Songs
--[] Machines Shielded Against Aberrant Thoughts - Protection III, Technology III, Void III, Song III, Unity III
--[] Spirits of Machinery - Technology, Technology, Logic, Creativity II

This plan does three things to protect us from blowing our one shot at glorious All-X round.
  1. It finally finishes the Warp Observatory, allowing us to see what Chaos or anyone else may be cooking and finding out if Warp is going to boil again soon.
  2. It activates Foretold Luminous Paths Seen, to see if anyone is doing something immediately harmful or disruptive to us.
  3. It sings the Song for protecting our AI from Chaos. (The other Song is more of a shot in the dark with roughly same intent, and may be replaced by anything else that fits).
Even if you are to ignore this plan, please make sure to assign the 100 Choirs for Foretold Luminous Paths Seen to avoid a sucker punch in our hour of glory.
Also if you want AI in the Tech Sprint, please sing Machines Shielded Against Aberrant Thoughts this turn or next.

I'm just saying I'm in favour of any plan that fires Bounty of Labour into Symphony-enchanced Tech.

Someone poke me in 12 hours so I can vote, hoing to sleep now.

Edit: 2 and 3 are Psytech things (ESPECIALLY 3), and 4 and 5 are Symphony levels.
Can i chuck research write-ins at you and if any are good they are added to research options?
Try to find a good song, then boost it by researching a psytech still feels better narratively, but... snowballs chance in hell that actually happens.
Good research write-ins might make it in bounty of labour research frenzy.

@HeroCooky this occurred to me that All X might be crazier than All V...hypothetically how crazy is All X here?

Honestly, my low-key dream is that "They're the same options you had last time, but you get to pick two of them instead of just one to represent the much harder barrier to reach that threshold", and that's how All-X milestones go, you get one extra pick per successive one you reach. Reaching All-V required 25 actions baseline, reaching All-X requires 50 baseline, that's twice as hard, so twice the reward feels fitting.

If that's the case, Bounty of Labor + Faith Trait Upgrade are the way to go absolutely.

I want my deadly and powerful spell of killing stuff. We have a ton of protection and productivity songs. Why not any songs meant to be used as weapons? (Still taking the song to protect our automatons.)

[X] Plan: Trigger and Song

Updated the Choir info post. We have now officially breached the 500 mark! We have 509 Choirs this turn which is an increase of +19. Unfortunately it seems like the previous turn's record breaking 29 Choirs was not the start of the Awakening surge :(. Still that does indicated that when the Surge comes it's probably going to be something insane like more that +50 per turn..... We should probably get a lot more songs - with these kinds of numbers we could afford to have them all running constantly.

Well, you turned up above the moon, and the Insane AI just started chucking malformed babies at your ships at terminal velocities. So it prevented some total ship losses by being able to repair your ships.

Beyond that, all other military actions were on the ground.
Wait, chucking babies?... that's just a phrase righ- oh who am I kidding its 40k. Alright so it chucked.... malformed babies as weapons... Wait seriously?! that damaged some ships? the hell were those babies made out of?

I'm probably going to make a plan to finish the observatory and sing two songs. I'm thinking:
Machines Shielded Against Abberant Thoughts - Protection Technology Void, Song Unity <-*noted by the QM to make Automata safer for use, relevant because we just made them smarter and are likely to make them even smarter soon.
and of course the song we're going to need to get eventually:
Shield Us From The Influence Of The Four - Protection, Hope, Grounding, Health, Protection
These two are must haves for me because we kept putting it off. to be honest I want another action to grab the other Automata songs to shield them as while yes the MSAAT would help protect the Automatas and make them safer, I want one of other other songs about Automata the Blazing ones done as well but at this point we only seem to be grabbing more songs for production or the like. So long as we can these two I'm fine with doing and relying on the automatas.

You know the babies from The Forest videogame? Imagine an AI hyper-focused on creating an entire tech-base held up entirely by neonatal building blocks, from industry to weapons. You may realize why I didn't really go into detail beyond; "Yeah, that is fucked up."

And nope. You need 50 more Choirs, but you now get more accurate information.
Oh I fracking HATED those things. They were annoying and horrifying little things... an AI hype focused with only neonatal building blocks to build everything.... I think I'm gonna be sick. that was hell and a nightmare worth of the name Nightmare Child Factory. Seriously this really does show just how horrible and insane things were back during the Dark Age of Technology and the AI going rouge or rampant. Everyone who went down there needs therapy.

Symphonious Artistry Well-Guarded
Symphonious Symphosium Of Tribals
Chants Of Yore And Ere And Yonder
Chants That See What Is Unseen
Hymnals Cry Their Might Against Discordia
Hmmm, interesting names for the songs here just... I really do not know what they would do bar the last two for seeing through things through words or using the hymnals as a weapon or barrier against something.... once again more about just trying them but with being how it is we won't use them unless we get hints or stated a need for them.

Symphonious Symphosium Quietly Made
Symphonious Symphosium Sung With Serendipity
Songs Of Progress Sung By Calculated Canons
Songs Of Progress Sung With Lessons Understood And Applied
same with the first half of this again and the last two catch my eye. more learning/understanding songs that are either for research in tech or psykana.

March, Artists, Unto That Canvas Of Blankness
Forward, Siblings, With Lessons Well Learned By Blood And Guts
Tribal Learning
Calculated Deterministic Paths
last one is something I'm interested in with how it is named, the rest are ehhhh? not my taste but fine for anyone interested in them.

The expedition returns. Silently. With a gloom over them. They have faced a horror from Old Night, and they are worse for it.

But they are unbroken. And they return with knowledge that will aid more than it has harmed. However long that may take...
Yah, it was a horror they faced but unbroken by but it and with the tech they recovered from it, it will help people once more.

-The Silver Tear Sword - Crafted in a myth-shrouded ceremony after the events of the Expedition to the Nightmare Child-Factory, this sword burns in the Warp as fiercly as it shines with an internal and pale blue-white light. Those who wield it say it is made from a piece of the universe itself, containing stars and suns within its blade, but all can agree that to wield it is the act of those soon to die. Once grasped, its wielders charge into the heaviest fighting where their deaths will save the most lives, and it will only be recovered from hands that can no longer grasp its hilt.
Oh wow, the omake reward up now with that and a good weapon. Shame it kills the wielder but they die in the hardest of fights and save the most lives due to it.

Current Warp Tremors: [Medium].
Oh thank goodness it went down.

-[] Warcasket Prototypes (1/2)
(Gain: Warcaskets, the primitive version of a Dreadnought.)
Anddddddd New Dawn is already working on it, Fuck. I really hope they are doing random again and not focusing on it since we WANT to wait on completing that until next turn. maybe we should swap ISC's for this turn?

-[] Wetware Scout Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Scout Automata are added to your military.)
-[] Wetware Line Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Line Automata are added to your military.)

-[] Wetware Void Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Void Automata are added to your navy.)
-[] Wetware Civilian Automata (0/1)
(Gain: Wetware Civilian Automata begin production.)
Oh boy all those got updated with the stuff we got, not too long now and with the Grand Design boosting the results.... Oh boy we are going to see things get crazy soon.

[] [Psykana] Warp Observatory (1/3)
Though I'd really rather delay a turn by doing the Observatory now and starting the All X development next turn so we aren't blind sided.

GENTLEMEN, LADIES, AND INDETERMINATE BEINGS

THE TIME HAS COME

PULL THE TRIGGER
I'm sorry but I got major 'KONK! PULL THE LEVER' vibes with that.

I would prefer to wait until it is a bit lower (or go with research one)
Same, I'd rather get the Warp Observatory done now before anymore and use the other action to do another void industry so we do the other void industry and Medical Development next turn.

Oh yeah @HeroCooky , are we going to pick all of our Milestone benefits tomorrow? The VI XV and the Medical X one plus the All-X?
Well that's going to be a nonstop fucking blood bath all things considered. with how many options we will get and then the back and forth with questions about what the wording really means. I'd prefer it spaced out.

...

*despair*

Fuck it, I don't even care anymore, I'm going to go off in a corner and cry for a while.
Like I said man, I'd be all for Bounty of Labor but past choices make me believe it will be even more Anti-Chaos trait to keep on stacking it. We can try preaching and planning on we want but lose it when the shiny appears and everyone dogpile on it since we don't KNOW what going to be the reward there, we have an idea based on the all V development reward and what was there before.

Only thing we can do is just try and hope we convince enough people to vote for it.

Please, the Observatory... Just one turn to see if it's okay to Pull The Trigger, maybe also some Choirs on the anti-scheme Song to make sure nothing, absolutely nothing gets in the way.

I want the trigger.
I just don't want Chaos to rain on this parade.
Same, we JUST saw this happen with the cutting off of Cry For The Future due to the warp tremors going up to High and blocking us from using it more and us needing to wait until it went down to even plan to use Grand Design. I really don't want to do all this and then using Tremors HIGH cannot use any symphony at all during it.

[X] Plan Look Both Ways Before Crossing the Rubicon

I don't disgree, but it's a bit too game-breaky for my taste. I think if we do that we get instant warp-storm or similar smack due to abuse of mechanics. We don't get to do all-X into immediate all-XV.

narratives consequences of rushed development?
missed issues with tech, new society factions and social tensions?

you cant give a caveman a nuke and expect things to go smooth

at least thats how i would handle super-rushing development to the point of mechanics abuse, getting new political factions we must integrate or disband, like we did with the religious schisms

I don't think that we'll get hit by that - we're not using it to build Dev after all almost all of the actions are apparently going to be put into research. I'm more worried about some Chaos faction artificially stirring up the warp when we use the Symphony and shove us into a warp storm. That's why some people want the observatory first.
