Punchy Scaling Teleporting
Red Huntress + Memoria + Millions + Daggermaw + Hunch - Potency 3 = Potency 10
3x Clairvoyance, (2x all), Transformation, Energy Manipulation, Enhanced Senses, (1x all) Teleportation, Enhanced Strength, Fitness, Enhanced Speed, Invisibility
Build Goal: Expanding on the idea of Red Huntress + Memoria build, with Millions there for helping with Red Huntress' scaling from the energy conversion ideally, Hunch helping with the teleporting targeting, and Daggermaw for Strength and more senses. This basically functions as a scaling punchy Nightcrawler build and there is a non zero chance this build would fulfill the synergy Wolong has half confirmed as well with what's here.
This is also a possible pitch for Yara if we wanna turn her to a psychic assassin. Triple Clairvoyance. Double Transformation, Energy Manipulation, and Enhanced Senses. I feel like Enhanced Strength, Speed and Fitness could combine too. Not to mention Teleportation which I feel could combo well with Enhanced Senses, could give her good reaction time.

I'm not into that build mostly for thematic/statistic reasons.

There is no way that one of Yara's strengths isn't going to be Rep. She's the sister of JU's PR Queen. And she also just seems very sweet and empathetic. Feels a waste to have a character like that skulk in the dark.

Well that's fair enough. I also created another combo for Yara with Féth as the base instead
I'll admit I put Mr Hunch for the sake of bumping up the Clairvoyance combo. Multiplex and Hydrocity does have merit; giving the Multiplex combo could bump up the user's survivability within the fog and might even give them a form of [Invulnerability], while Hydrocity with your idea of fog creation might expand the range of the fog, and to an extent their AoE range of Ally Empowerment (which is a noted weakness of Chatroom) and/or their psychic powers.

I also personally prefer Chatroom, but I acknowledge that iSpy does have merits with double [Invisibility] and the range of what it could possibly do within the fog.

Psychic Fog War
Féth Fíada(6) + Chatroom(4) + Crimson Soprano(2) + Multiplex(1) = 13 Potency

@Arcus you mind putting this combo in the Possible Ambrosia Builds to keep it in mind for when Yara comes around?
Multiplex could be swapped with Mr Hunch if we really want to lean into the psychic side, or Hydrocity to lean into the elemental side. Similarly, you could swap Chatroom with iSpy, but I get the feeling you don't want that @ScorpioSting since you don't want Yara to lean into Espionage.

[X] Give Ellie the EXCEED-BEYOND

I imagine a big in-universe reason for this is that we're simply desperate. No idea if Ellie is some kind of ideal candidate, but she fits the bill, she's suitably heroic, and we need EXCEED-BEYOND yesterday.

In the long term, let's hope we can help her work through her issues.

[X] Plan: Can't Touch This
[X] Plan Master of Water - A Throne of our own!
[X] Plan Red Rush Redux

Too late to really argue for this, but. I think we don't have enough heroes with [Invulnerability]. This is a setting where most supers are ultimately just as squishy as normal humans. And that includes most of our team. We need heroes who can actually take hits, not heroes who keep ending up on the verge of death. ([Regeneration] unfortunately doesn't do anything to keep someone alive during a fight.) Unlike everyone else, we have the opportunity to make lots of heroes that are super unkillable. We should do so way more often.

Honestly, I'd probably lean the build more for Homer if any of the innate high tolerance characters. While it could get some psychic synergies (Telekinesis and the Enhanced Strength one seem potentially in it) I would imagine its more on the offensive end regardless rather than a defensive build.

Where even ignoring anything else, Yara is probably the character we need the most safe of the lot due to the shares in her name, and while I think it is a very good power, its not quite a backliner or popping Steadfast on in terms of raw safety. Honestly, if not for the thread wanting her to be psychic defense I'd probably advocate for her to use the Steadfast Automne build for high Hit/ideally some Ops from the control/using shock and awe to help on the Rep side.

We could give her Metamorph for Great Regen and Invulnerability. And same on Psychic It might be better to wait on homer for that when Wulong has figured out waht we need instead of only hints about telekenisis.

Another is a speedster build.

Lightstep(7) + Steadfast(2)+ Fastrack(3)+ Soldier X(1)= P13

Doubetap Speed and Invulnerabitliy for dodging and tanking along with Soldier X to hopefully give Regeneration. Also Good chance it gives us a Combo like Enhanced Body since it has all Enhanced Tags involving physical abilities.

If we're to say abscond giving psychic defense to Yara, I'd say the build I'm in favor of the most would be….
Zero Point
DNA Profiles: Zeno (9), Frostbite (3), Millions Minefield (1)
Potency: 13
Donor Keywords: [Space-Time Manipulation], [Invulnerability] x 2, [Energy Manipulation], [Elemental Manipulation], [Enhanced Strength]
Notes: Absolute zero is defined as the complete absence of heat and motion; Impossibility of motion + energy manipulation + cryokinesis to create a powerset that allows for the user to lock down molecular movement for a freezing effect? Cryokinesis taken to the logical endpoint. Invulnerability could manifest as being able to lock molecules in place to create barriers or simply will projectiles/attacks to a halt? May also just be the requisite secondary power to be immune to extreme environments?
This one. I really want to use Zeno's power and this combination guarantees that Yara has defenses in addition to elemental offenses.

There are other combos I have in mind, but I'm a bit occupied atm so I'll write a post about it later

Now that I have edited a vote for Master of Water in my post, I wish to once again argue that giving John a power thematically related to his desires feels more interesting to me than looking at this on a purely utilitarian way. In a sense, I actually trust that he will not go overboard even when given something to directly counter the Demon Flamez, and being able to fight them directly would both be much more cathartic for him and allow him to process in his trauma Ina safer way by reducing the risk of Flamez Metahumans being able to harm him. I think it would be nice if he could fight their supers himself, you know?

Plus the build has both crowd-control elements in Feth Fiada and tank-like elements in Frostbite, which means there's a great chance this power will still allow us to fill holes in our composition. Feth Fiada in general has a very strong power that is hampered by a few weaknesses, making her DNA a prime candidate for an increase in Potency, and the added profile hopefully increasing its versatility even further!

Had this in my head at work and needed to make it real

Anyway speaking of Mona and Noelle I know the thread is getting a bit gaga of them being a Yuri couple and sexual tension. But Personally I feel like with Noelle being a Valiant its highly likely the 2 of them will simply never get along even if they can work together well enough in missions.

The two have way too different backgrounds and Burden as a Hero.

Black Swan
-A Trailblazer thas Power and Reputation worthy of being called the Strongest. With all the pressure and problems that brings. There's a reason SM words haunt mona because she can tell thats it true and shes gonna have the fight the Big dicks in the world if tehy ever show up to cause problems. While Mona is heroic enough to stand up to evil it doesnt mean she wont have worries and fears especially from a generally a normal civilian background of a happy family.
-Mona doesnt have a Human body anymore thanks to her powers and her powers meant she doesnt need to eat, sleep and shit. Hell considering shes now a living blackhole I'm pretty sure she both cant have children and likely ageless or atleast can live for a very long time. While she seems fine now its very possible that as time pass she loses connection with humanity and becomes a monster or a god if things go bad enough for her to break. Something which Leizi herself noted in that much pressure can break Mona.
-For Mona spending time with people and relaxing playing around might seems be her being lazy and slacking off instead of taking things seriously to someone driven and serious like Noelle. But those actions are very vital for her to retain her Humanity and something she genuinely needs to keep on doing. Hell its becasue she spends time with people thats part of the reason she has Peak rep along with Power and personality.

Valiant Gold
-Burdened with Legacy of Both the Valiants and her mother Heavenly Astrologian. Her personality and drive no matter how much she denies it in the end is just like her mother who sacrificed everythign as Hero to the people and a mother to ensure Noelle could live well. She's also the first Valiant who isnt an Algernon which is definately gonna result in detractors. She may not care but thats still a burden and problem shes gonna have to deal with no matter what.
-Noelle can Wield E-B the most Powerful and Versatile Armor in Horizon. But as a Weapon its something that need a lot of care which shes thankfully Smart and driven enough to learn everything she can about E-B from its Maintenance, repair and maybe rebuilding it if necessary. That said E-B is too advance for a single woman who isnt an Algernon to handle meaning she's gonna get and need Assistants to properly take care of E-B. In terms of Power E-B is greatest Strenght is Versality but also means there will alway be other Metahumans just way stronger than her. Like I serously doubt Scissors Railgun can match Mona full blast or Rocks Strenght can match SM. That said with her tactics and E-B trumpcards she has ample chance of winning no matter her opponent. Lastly gaining her powers apart from Connection to The Stage doesnt really change her body meaning for all intents and purpose she's a normal human to anyone that can notice her psychic sensitivity.
-Noelle is Driven, smart and Stubborn but a terrible lier unlike Mona leizi noted as putting on a mask on public to her real self as shown with Mona originally having 2esp and 2 rep meaning likely great social skills. Her personality will mean she's gonna take missions seriously and do everyhting she can to do right but at the same time she could drive people away or atleast fail to build trust and comraddery with the rest of the team. Especially now that she has strenght to do things by herself with E-B instead of needing to rely and work with others that she had to do in order to fight against GDT.

The most Interesting thing to me is that if they switched Powersets:
-Noelle with Monas powers could very easily lead to her pushing herself to far. Simply because with incredible Power and no need for Human maintenance. She can keep on working and training to point of being Inhuman along with making her reckless and stubborness worst. A Bad Ending would be her invardently not only being like her mom who worke too hard but like Novalight that uses her powers to force others to do her bidding while believing its for best or good.

-Mona with E-B means she probably be affected worst by the pressure of living up to her Hero's legacy, which could end up breaking her. Additionaly she wouldnt have as much excuse to just relax and spend time with people since she'd need to spend serious effort and time mastering how to wield E-B. A bad ending is probably the pressure being too much and making a mistake that either kills her or makes her quit being a hero.

Man this was a Word vomit but I guess it shows how much i like this quest.

I just realized Helicopter Parent might potentially be able to make people explode. If they can turn inanimate objects into mines, relays, and cameras, then there's nothing stopping John Henry from using it on someone's clothes for example, and making them go boom.

If hair and the stratum corneum of the skin count as inanimate since they're made of dead skin cells, then those could be turned into bombs too. If not, there's always food and medicine. Those are inanimate objects too.

I understand your point of view, but given what we've said, I doubt the powerset is going to end up as Killer Queen from Jojo.

I'm looking at the current tallies and seeing that Helicopter Parent having a 8-9 lead makes it somewhat certain that we'll get John Henry that power...

But for the sake of seeing if I can convince anyone to remove their vote for it, I have a question or two!

My first one is simple: Would you all rather go for a teleporter with 10 potency or 7 potency? I mean think about it- if we choose to lock in our teleporter now... are we really going to make a new one at 10 potency? Right in front of the lower potency hero? That just seems rude- and even removing that factor, we have so many ideas floating around that I can see us seeing trying a repeat of the same idea to be a waste of time.

Honestly, side note here, is that I worry about when we get a bunch more candidates we are just going to start ignoring the people and only focusing on who has the highest potency in order to get big bag for our buck. I mean... as it stands and what we know... why wouldn't we? It's a simple worry I got.

The second argument I'm making against Helicopter Parent is how... sus (heh) it would be for us to just so happen get a new member of our team who can teleport out of the blue compared to someone strong or having domain control-
It's just another worry but it might be nothing. It's still something to keep in mind.

And that was Realm's attempt to convince people away from the helicopter plan!

I voted for helicopter parent for Bulwark and Clairvoyance not teleporter.

Oh and by the way is there something in Exceed-Beyond that can helpuss contact R-Train?

Also I think it would be really funny if we did Cenotaph and already had counterparts to Valiant Silver, Uiara, Adamant and Radiant Silvergirl. With Lady Leizhi's survival we'd only need a Red Huntress equivalent to complete the set!

I do wonder what excuse we'll use for John Henry as to why he wasn't around at all despite being in the same league as people like Zeno Potency wise.

Presumably, he has medical records that say he's not a metahuman, so it's a bit suspicious. I suppose our cover story is "John Henry always had powers, but Lady Leizi covered for him and doctored his records so he looks like he never had any via the spy network everyone knows she has. The hero life wasn't for him since he's a married man with kids and didn't want to orphan them like so many heroes who lost their lives did to theirs, and it's only now when Horizon is at its most desperate that he reluctantly answered the call."

What's Rhys's cover story, btw? I don't think that was ever answered? My assumption was "He was a deep cover agent for Leizi, and his power made him incredibly hard to find".

There's no cover story since no one knows Handyman's face. He's way too good at shapeshifting for him to be properly IDed.

If we absolutely have to, though, then a fake identity would be ridiculously easy to make between his powers and Lady Leizi's spy network forging documents. Far as Powers know, he's a waiter in Balthazaar, though, I'm sure they already know that said waiter never existed and has no paper trail.

That's close enough to what I meant.

Also I would like to mention that Henry mentioning "Morphogenetic fields" gave me Zero Escape flashbacks, so thanks!

Part of why Rhys passes is cause he's relatively unknown to the public at large. He's former US spy who turned so he's not suppose to be all that well known which fits into our culture excuse.

The bigger problem comes with John Henry, who's actually more known and would make Crusade and the Philosophers squint their eyes at that detail.

Here's a couple Féth Fíada builds I had with varying potencies. I don't intend them for John, but can't hurt to have more ideas on the pile for later.

Here Be Dragons
Féth Fíada + Memoria (Potency 10)
Keywords: Clairvoyance x2, Teleportation, Elemental Manipulation, Invisibility, Ally Empowerment, Mental Manipulation

AKA Shell Game from hell. Memoria's power allowed leaving behind clairvoyant cameras, now convert those into fog clouds and allow them to teleport people and objects inside of them invisibly. Making the teleport locations visible may seem a disadvantage but it also allows for big mind games. As an added bonus the base fog jams outside clairvoyance, and smoke screen style area teleportation is good for both static defense and emergency evac.

Fairy Lullaby
Féth Fíada + Solferina + Steadfast + Multiplex (Potency 13)
Keywords: Ally Empowerment x2, Mental Manipulation x2, Invulnerability, Transformation, Clairvoyance, Energy Manipulation, Elemental Manipulation, Invisibility

Specializes in AOE buffs/debuffs through enchanting fairy music (and ominous fog). The same power that can shield allies from hostile psychic influences can be turned toward debilitating enemies into uselessness. Steadfast and Multiplex are my best attempt at making the mythical intangible mist body into reality. If successful, would be an extremely frustrating hero to fight. Either Solferina or Steadfast + Multiplex can be dropped to make the build cheaper and focus on only a single aspect.

Additionally Steadfast + Multiplex could be stapled onto Here Be Dragons instead to make an intangible teleporter.

[X] Plan: Helicopter Parent
[X] Plan Master of Water - A Throne of our own!

Just give him a full face mask ala Code geass Zero and keep his identity private. Its been done before afterall with Astrologian.

No need to complicate things. With leizi espionage hiding Johns identity shouldnt be a problem.
