[] Plan: I am ripping of the elves
-[] Codicier Korr, The Burning Aegis: Despite his long list of battle honors Korr is perhaps more distinguished by his near vestigial psychic strength then anything else. In order to make up for his weakness Korr sought tutelage from the Rune Priests of Fenris. In recompense for his skill and discipline they taught him to craft the runes of purifying flame that adorn his armor and weaponry and enhance his performance. In battle he favors using the strength of the Librarius backed by an armored fist. After all, the greatest strength of humanity is in using each tool to it's fullest potential. (Gain Trait: More Then Flesh)
-[] Aidan: A land of harsh mountains, gentle valleys and man eating sheep. The soldiers of Aidan are specialize in orbit to ground operations via drop pod insertion. They are supremely disciplined and known for displays of fierce bravery upon the field. If chosen as a homeworld then the chapter may choose to subordinate the Red Dragon Auxilia or allow them to operate independently.
(Planetary Decision: Raising Dragons)

Upon informing The War Council of your choice, you were approached by Vulan.
Vulkan.

Anyway:
[] Plan: Students of Death.
-[] Hercuule Zeon, The Strategos-Huntsman: Despite his reputation for grand heroics Hercuule is not particularly brash or bold. Unlike many brothers in the first company his drake skin wasn't won in grand confrontation. Rather by stalking and tracking a venerable Firedrake turned infirm with age. He spends great effort studying and learning from his foes while planning his strategy. Often favoring infiltration and preparation instead of direct confrontation with a prepared foe. Hercuule believes that wars are won in the time before the first blow is struck. When he takes to the field it is only to finish off his beleaguered foe. (Gain Trait: Preparations for Victory)
-[] Gemini-4: A set of colonized asteroid-shipyards in the model of Sol's Jovian Moons. Though they lack the same level of facilities the people of Gemini make up for it with their boldness. Rather then content themselves to scrapyard hulls or the hostile void they capture and repurpose Space Hulks. As such they experts in exploring dangerous or unknown environments and improvising novel solutions.

Oh man, plenty of good combos this round.
Biome Destruction and Crusade Fleet Harrow goes well like bread and butter for maximum damage, and Preparations for Victory would pair well with Jundyr as premiere monster hunters with what Nurglite Horrors they'll be facing for the crisis too.

[] Plan: Hostile environment re-terraforming
-[] Char'is Zarr, Keeper of the Count: The use of Destroyer squads amongst the Astartes has a long and shameful history. While the Dark Angels were the foremost each Legion was expected to field units capable of truly erasing the worst of the galaxy's horrors. The Salamanders were no exception to this. Char'is has served centuries as his Legion's foremost expert on the application of such immoral weaponry. Indeed he has written treatise after treatise about their development, applicability and the ethics of their use. Under his leadership the Chapter will learn how to use these weapons to reshape worlds instead of merely destroying them. (Gain Trait Biome Eradication Specialists)
-[] Tenebris Silva: This penal colony serves as an experiment in artificial death worlds. The planet is host to a variety of invasive species from feral orks to giant grox, Venusian man eaters, Nyxian night terrors and the odd Catachan barking toad. Originally the planet was meant to serve as a training ground but casualty rates proved too dire for that to be practical. At Inquisitor Arminius's request it was populated with repentant criminals and now creates some of the Imperium's most reliable solutions to securing truly hostile worlds.

So this part of Car'is's blurb caught my eye. "Under his leadership the Chapter will learn how to use these weapons to reshape worlds instead of merely destroying them." Combine that with the way that Tenebris Silva's people are familiar with extreme biomes and we should get people who can go into truly hostile environments and make them into places people can live

Is their a moratorium?

I like this one. As for planet I think it should be fleet based since they might destroy the world that they are on and so they can double down on biome eradication.

To be clear. He will not accidentally destroy his homeworld (or any world really). Though that combination does trend towards the idea that...collateral damage is going to be accepted. Harrow is only deployed to worlds the Administratum is willing to write off entirely.

That being said, Char'is is a master of restraint. If he is your Chapter Master you'll be using his specialty, but part of that is avoiding friendly fire or harming civilian populations.

Charizard pun I assume?

I accidentally googled Pet Salamander names instead of Salamander names. Then I realized it wouldn't take much to make it fit the standard and went from there.

My aim is that each world and chapter master have enough hooks that they can all create unique outcomes, though most homeworlds are built with some special consideration for the current chapter. For instance, the Calydonian fleet would have your marines serving alongside members of their mortal families ala the Salamanders on Nocturne.

It's always fun to see what you guys latch onto as the things you find most interesting.

Going to be a one day moratorium...once I get the vote stuff to cooperate.

This is probably the guy we want for anti-Tyranid and Nurgle specialists simply because of what those two factions do to a biosphere.

It's hilarious that our previous Chapter is made of self-sacrificial Night Lords, and our current one will be Salamanders Successor that's "basically Roboutian Heresy AU Death Guard"

I say a death world will truly make this chapter a lot stronger. Also we will be fighting on altered planets so the terain alteration would also be good to restore them.

He is the most straightforward option certainly, though all three got the nod from Vulkan for being uniquely suited to this sort of threat.

Char'is is the most obvious but his methods means you're trying to match the enemy strength to strength.

Korr leans into the idea of opening the toolbox and using absolutely everything to win. That means drawing upon the expertise of anyone he can contact and creating solutions others might miss. His experience as a psyker also means he is uniquely suited to understand the threat you're facing. Overall he's the most balanced option since he brings the widest variety of things.

Hercuule meanwhile is all about being so prepared that the battle itself is a formality. He's essentially what Aramus (The Force Commander) from Dawn of War 2 might be if he traded natural talent for vastly more experience. He's going to learn what the enemy wants and where they're weak. Once he knows both of those things then he can earn victories that seemed impossible at the outset because he's an actual strategic genius (though brings less in the way of unique specialties).

Yeah I get the impression that Char'is is a true expert. That means that he will know the exact minimum required force to glass that particular continent while leaving the other parts of the planet viable. Some kind of weird scalpel of mass destruction.

-[X] Crusade Fleet Harrow: Exclusively populated by the remnants of dead world and irrevocable formations this Crusade Fleet is famed for bold action against the enemies of mankind. Deployed to only the worst battlefronts they are expected to serve as vanguard against impossible odds. Their bravery in turn inspires allied units to embrace a style of war defined by constant aggression against the enemies of mankind.. the appearance of this fleet is often considered an ill omen, as it is near exclusively formed from the world's they've visited and regiments that fought alongside them.

Not my plan but it seems just like me, most of you guys didn't realize voting had started.

It wasn't supposed to for a few hours. But I accidentally set it to 2am instead of 2pm when I shifted the schedule for an actual 24 hours.

So it goes. Vote is open.
