Good news is, the Symphony we're using will be full of maxed out Songs, so as long as there wasn't a critical misread on the vibes, it should do some wild stuff. The smell check at least seems good? Neablis had a pretty good narrative put together after all.

Really hope it's worth how much of an investment it took to reach Symphonies at least. High Ranking Songs are excellent, yes, but Symphonies are supposed to be on another level entirely. New Traits maybe?

Also, I've noticed that we don't really have much Diplomacy actions in regards to the Black Ash Clans and the Lords of Eternity. Plus we should probably make contact with the Watchtower Confederacy

I do hope Hippity Hoppity can be dropped down to a level where we can actually, you know, use it. "100 Choirs" is... I don't think it's possible for us to wrangle that many together.

It really shouldn't be a critical misread. It could probably be tweaked, replacing Glint of Genius with Fires of Industry to make it more production focused, but that would make it more military-focused too. This song uses all of our workhorses and ties together everything that the federation is, communication, hard work, inspiration, sacrifice and aspiration. It might almost be too general, but it's a symphony so it's going to be broad.

I bet we could do it with medical infastructure X.

Also, the Psychic Awakening might be happening and we're just not noticing it because we actually have a really damn good psychic tradition and enough identification that it's just proving to having our numbers constantly tick up?

If we want to grow our number of Choirs we need heavy industry built up to expand the supply of Juvenet. Plus have more population in general.

At least iirc a serious expansion of Juvenet is gated behind heavy industry for us because we make Juvenet the hard way.

One of the main eaters of our Psyker production(other than just forgetting to turn off making scouts) is that they die. The problem is that they are already getting life extension treatment so to increase production of psykers we either need to find another way to extend their life or grow our pop base even larger

Yeah, our Choirs are already priority targets for Juvenat treatments, and I'm pretty sure our production has scaled with the rest of our industry, the problem is that we now need to increase our Psyker population percentage without being Chaos Bait, and that's not really something in the scope of any of our Infrastructures.

We're still growing and integrating people. Natural population growth, but we also just colonized 4 worlds (with extra effort so they come online earlier) and integrated Brans + the Ashan, as well as the final bit of Voxx population integration. We should keep getting additional choirs for a while at a rate of 4-6 a turn. And in the next few turns we'll get two more worlds to keep the ball rolling.

Of course, heavy industry and medical industry would help a lot on top of that.

But, level III Unto Works Generational makes the Planet-maw 8 actions, and with Logic III to upgrade the Devouring Mechadendrite (and reduce the number of required choirs to 10 or 15?) we should be able to activate both at the same time as soon as next turn. Then if we pump all 4 actions in next turn we'll be at 6/8 on the Planetmaw. Which - I realize we can't do that. But we could very much get it in the next two turns if we spend 6 actions on it, then have a general action & a floating action left over.

Part of me just wants to get it before everything lights on fire, since it'll trivialize all-X (seriously, we'll be able to get an X-bonus every couple of turns once we get the planetmaw).

[X] Plan: As Expected of 40K...

Better psychic hoods and staves might reduce choir attrition in combat.

There is no heart that beats with more blood for humanity that its Military Industry.
By these machines they are elevated from prey to predators.
By these labors they are made monsters and saints.
A bit ominous but I think it fits given the nature of the the song focused on military industry boost above all. Nice image of machine forge making something and the red name. The text really does hit home as we use technology to raise ourselves to hunt those that hunted us and through industry can be used for good or evil.

Where is my Star Child-damned inheritance, you dead old dusty FUCKS?!
NO way, No way you actually made the song in the image of a bunny just for the name of it. ah, I love it and the sass in that text. Where's my inheritance you old fucks.

Heartbeat of Industry - Reduces Action Cost of Military Actions by 25%, but requires 50 Choirs to operate. If said Choirs are removed, the reduced Actions are re-applied. In that case, Action Cost Reductions, if Heartbeat of Industry is sung again, are calculated upon the new re-applied Costs, instead of overall costs. This only affects Full Actions.
Hippity Hoppity - Requires 100 Choirs to operate. Find 1 [One] Dark Age of Technology Ruin the Turn after. Loot varies starkly, and no important finds are guaranteed.
Oh shit so that's what it does? So Heartbeat of Industry is 25 percent off but needs 50 Choirs to do... I'm hoping that will drop if we get it to level 3 and is another bonus to add if we need to do it. So good if we plan on building in bulk for Grand Armies or SBG's every bit helps in that, of course most of actions right now are 1 action production.

Hippity Hoppity.... oh boy, 100 choirs for this. I guess the Dark Age of Technology tech is that powerful and if the Planet Maw is anything to go by it really does go big so fair enough. Still I don't think we can do 100 choirs.... unless. Alright guys time to increase population via more clay. we need to expand some where and given our neighbors I propose we move to absorb the Shipwright's grove if possible or keep pushing somewhere to get more population to get more choirs.

Heartbeat of Industry - Struggle II, Fire II, Machinery II, Unity III, Hope III, Song III
Hippity Hoppity - Humanity III, Technology III, Technology III, Perception II, Perception II
I am REALLY hoping level 3 for the Hippity Hoppity will lower requirement of 100 choirs and lucky for us all we need is Perception to be boosted to three.

Oh and heartbeat of industry since the 50 free choirs is going to be a LOT when war happens.

Eat The Warmth.

"Void" represents something going away, or being eaten, "Fire" is warmth, life, or energy, "Sun" holds power in its own right, a command over systems and itself, a force that does not beg, something that takes when called upon, and "Song" is a uniter, something that makes the disharmonious cohesive. In this context, it makes opposites (Void=/=Sun) exist and feed into one another, by making the Sun give the Primus to the Void without trouble.

So, if this specific Song were to be spelled out, it would be: Eat (Void) the Warmth (Fire) [Directive] (Sun) {Negate Void=/=Sun Clash} (Song).
Yep.
Thank you for that, going in the list.

Ohhhh that's what was meant with void. I thought more it being empty or the like and fire filling it, whelp I was wrong. Fair enough and the Sun means domain/command at least in this case. So Song is the glue or binder to weave together the other melodies. Thank you.

Threw up three times today. Once on my commute, once at work, and once at the doctor. I am both hot all over, have a headache, and feel tired as all hell. So I am having a FANTASTIC day. Today and tomorrows' update will be the minimum viable one, storywise. Please consider that when voting today. 🤒
Oh shit, if you need to take a break just do so QM. don't force yourself if you aren't able to. that sounds bad.

Three visions beset the priests who had been tasked with seeking guidance from the Star Child.

Three visions of which the first and second are...suggestions of the dangers that may yet come.

The last of which is a certainty written in holy decree.
Okay so first two are suggestions but not guaranteed they are what we see so that could change depending on rolls and how we prepare. So noted and the last is something that will happen no matter what.

In the first, a fleet, resplendent and gleaming with white, black, and blue, stands against a pitiful ship of black and green, its form showing apparent signs of disrepair and neglect.

Two paths open in the minds of the priests who observe this vision.

In the first, the fleet fires against the ship.

They die to a one.

In the second, they let it pass.

An armada of black-green ships returns without issue, both fleets unharmed and untouched.

Something will come to claim the ships the Yeeni collected. To fight it would be to invite ruin.
So Necrons are coming to claim their ships.... have we acutally done anything with them? we only studied them to learn how to fight them. I mean the real question is the ships worth fighting over since we haven't done much with them and what the necrons plan on doing. Since if they are going to go conquest or wipe out all fleshy creatures I think its worth fighting, its nice to know that giving the ships and them just going off is an option.... but the question is do we REALLY want to give them the damn world engine? and hope they don't use it on us?

Still its a suggestion and they could very well not show up at all or come in not willing to talk or coming in peaceful.

The second vision is one of a concert.

Surrounded by millions of adoring and cheering fans, the priests within that vision see nothing out of the ordinary except for the size of the crowd and venue until one picks up a flyer lying on the ground.

[THE GRAND STORLAR TOUR] stares back at them; the names of dozens of systems, too far away to be known by the priests, to those lying within the Grove and Federation ending in Sub-Sector Ishanu and beyond, are printed, dates printed next to each system. Though the priest cannot observe the exact numbers, they know the tour will take less than a century to pass through all the systems shown.

Then, the crowd's cheers rise to a fever pitch as the stage opens. It displays a massive God-Machine, twisted and corrupted by the Prince of Excess, with a single figure standing atop its head modified into a stage. "THIS SILENCE OFFENDS SLAANESH," they scream. "THINGS SHALL GET LOUD NOW!" And, together with their Titan, they begin to play music whose sonic shockwave pulverizes the first few ranks.

The priests are ripped from the vision with bleeding ears and a haunting melody in their minds.

Chaos is on the march. It will come from the West and walk through the East.
anddddd we have a Thristing god flavor of warband or faction, I nearly thought it was just a normal concert at first but nope. Also it comes in through the Shipwright's Grove and into us to the Black Ash Clan Sub-Sector.... I think diplomacy is worth doing and to try to tie us and the Shipwright's Grove closer before that happens, and even if it doesn't I think its still worth the closer ties with it and maybe absorbing them. I think putting up the defensive stations would help slow down the Chaos forces or at least make raiding by them less likely as they blob into bigger groups in order to break through the defenses on a world. Still we see them coming from the west and two sub-sectors between us and them.

Again this is a suggestion and not a sure thing but something worth preparing for and build up. I would say doing the 'shield us from the influence of the four' song is looking like something worth getting now and maybe some other combat or protection songs is worth getting. But yah more songs and more diplomacy with Shipwright's grove is for the best.

But the last...it shows a continent. Titanic and resplendent, with a Capital City of splendor and wealth located in its lower West, the continent is home to many cities and regions.

But they are split by a massive rift, tectonic plates grinding and eating all who attempt to cross any place but a select few.

On that side, cut off from the capital lie cities and villages, peaceful or restive, engaging in trade, combat, and desperation due to cut-off supply lines.

Yet, in the northeastern portion, a village begins to whisper of things in the dark forests: children going missing, travelers vanishing, and neighbors acting stranger by the week.

Until the landlines to the village are cut.

Scouts from nearby villages do not return.

Expeditions are mounted and lost.

But travelers approach the villages all the same.

And those settlements begin to whisper of things in the dark forests.

Something will arrive from the North-East, beyond the Duchy. It will take by degree before it conquers wholesale. Beware the stranger and the twisted body.
Ahhhhhh that's bad and would make me think of the damn False hydras from grace of Hymmn except its more in human forms and they are the ones bringing news and tidings of things in the dark forest. So we have body-snatchers or something going on.

I do think its an analogy with regards to our side of the Great Rift and the side with Terra based on the whole great capital and the divide. And this time this is not a suggestion or thing that may happen, it WILL happen and its more subtle and subversive. I think it might be the Tyrranids and the travelers are genestealers.

yahhhhh this one we do need to do and I think given all the QoL and medical advancements would be worth taking since the more we do that and if we get to medical 15 we can cure mutations and stop them from happening. So considering the whole thing with the Gene Stealers that would outright stop them from pulling their normal shit as we could pick them up pretty fast and question why they don't want to be cured or to fix their children's genes. along with always knowing where they are.

So overall not... too bad. its really a question of when they arrive. I do think some diplomacy actions are worth it to warn the Dutchy since it WILL be coming through them and the Shipwright's grove. I'd say a few actions to get some cooperation and partnership done. After that just more songs and researching the tech both to buff out our military and deny any place for the Tyrranids to hide among our population.

-[] Small Automata Experiments and Plasma Integrity Studies
(Gain: Automata and Automatization Research are fully unlocked. Also, improve your plasma-based weaponry.)
Oh neat, I think this is worth it and at this rate I think we will need all tech turn to get stuff prepared.

Ohhhhh, okay I did NOT expect that to pop up at all. Lets see how it goes.

Okay, so.

Slaanesh Crusade coming from the West, so it'll hit the Grove first.

Tyranids to the Northeast going to ram through the Duchy apparently.

And the Necrons'll be popping in shortly, and we need to yield or we all die.
that's the jist of it. It is a shame we have to give up the ships but oh well, unless we could have done write-in's all this time then its not loss, I'm just worried about their damn word engine and what they will get up too. We could always try to get them to deal with the Tyrranids somehow, its a chance.

but yah the Necrons and Slaanesh crusade are vision that may or may not happen or have things wrong there. its still in flux and subject to change so best to prepare but be adaptable.

Honestly if we're worried about Tyranids...

-[] Improved Medical Diagnostics
(Gain: Ilnesses are found, and thus treated, faster, improving QoL for the people of the Federation.)
-[] Minaturized Irrita Translation Algorithm
(Gain: The Irrita can now talk to other Federation species without requiring large, bulky, and specialized translators.)
-[] Abhuman Medical Advances
(Gain: Improved QoL for Federation Abhumans.)
-[] A Cure For Lycanthropy
(Gain: Can now mass-screen your populations genes for dormant mutations.)
-[] Irritan Contagion Bombs and Clone Creation Improvement

I'm including the Irrita translation because it feels like they might be able to help us against the 'Nids.
Fair enough, a lot of the shit with genestealers can be solved if we do all the advancements and just cure a lot of mutations and deny the genestealers any chance to hide at all. I think we need Medical XV in order to cure mutations for good or something else that good so I think getting all Medical advancements is a good step. I do think the Irrita will be able to help us against the Nids but the problem is how fast they adapt and some of the Irrita stuff takes too long, recall how their Exterminatus weapon works and how long it takes.

I can die happy, now only upgrade it in future
hahaha, yah both you and me pal. We should be able to upgrade it soon, its only missing one melody to be leveled up. and really hoping the requirement for the choirs drop.

we must invite them into the federation
you sound like you're joking but given our track record I really wouldn't doubt it and we would make the attempt. It could work or the Phareon may make us subjects or something.

You forget that the Imperium typically doesn't have to fight against 80+ Necron Ships at once, led by a guy who was powerful enough to command a World Engine, while not having 5-to-1 numbers advantage.
What the fuckkkkkkkkk? they managed to scrap together 80+ necron ships?... and just how many more do we have from the Yeeni? like seriously should we be worried a Necron Dynasty is getting this much hardware and a World Engine that we know about?

Overall though yes that does explain just Why they advised us to give the ships up... yah that combo is not good. WE don't even have the number advantage there considering we don't have that many SBG's. we have like what? 8 SBG's, 4 Task fleets, and the Nomadic fleets?

We are gonna probably need to warn the Grove about the attack they will suffer so that they can prepare for it. Necron is a self-solving problem(ie let them pass) and the Duchy needs a heads up about something fucking them up(We don't know about tyrranids).
Indeed, worth it to try to develop closer ties and support them via diplomacy actions and the like. maybe try a full alliance this time?

yah that is the big problem with the Tyrranids is we don't know about them and can't warn the dutchy well, I mean it's literally a 'Do you know how little that narrows it down?' moment and not sure how to make it so they don't just place any help we give them against us or the like.

We really should wsrn the duchy

They are assholes, but they dont deserve to be tyranid food
agreed, question is just how to warn them that they take it seriously but not assume us in trying to pull another hoodwink or don't just half-ass it. I mean its a horrible risky gamble... but we could give them the tech to cure the Mutations when we get it... yes it would lead to a LOT of bad shit but I think they would force it on everyone and try to get rid of mutations in them and they would force people to get checked and the like so any genestealers trying it would be caught and killed when they refused.

If you sing the 33% and 25% Song together, then you can turn 3 Build SBGs into 5 Build SBGs. If you have additional questions, I can't amswer them due to headache.
Oh sweet, so a single AP would build 5 SBG's? holy shit that's powerful and it would allow a big crash build program if need be. of course that's before we upgrade the song another level. worth it.

Mashan Temple Authority, the Shipwright's Grove, and the Lords of Eternity too
I believe they're response would be showing up on our door while armed for war and asking for specifics, MTA I mean. I do think its worth mentioning it to them and to prepare in case the thing goes far faster then we think. Recall how the Ork WAAAAAGH was and how much more it was than we thought. moved quickly and in so many more SBG's. I do think we do need to do a building programs and get a least another 6 SBG's done.

1. Should we have done a write-in for learning about the Necron Ship tech? because the Dutchy seemed to have gotten some advanced engine tech and then the Ashan Families had tech similar to the weapons. and what about the World Engine at Hidden Orb? no options or choices regarding it or do we have to do a write-in that would have started a research project on it?

Terra based on the whole great capital and the divide
Oh I like this. I thought it was a commentary about the van Zandt duchy but that didn't quite make sense.

What the fuckkkkkkkkk? they managed to scrap together 80+ necron ships?... and just how many more do we have from the Yeeni? like seriously should we be worried a Necron Dynasty is getting this much hardware and a World Engine that we know about?
I think we managed to scrape together 80 necron ships. Or rather the Yeeni did. Darn bone-seeking fuzzbutts.

I'm a little worried about the world-engine but it appears there's not much we can do except politely hand it over. Maybe we tell the van Zandt we have all these ships and ask if they want to buy them? Make it their problem.

Yeah, basically, they can probably Assume Direct Control, at least by yielding, he may be magnanimous enough to toss us a bone for being the first thing that didn't cause him a headache since waking up. Especially since, you know, we stayed the fuck away from the bait until we had a Holy Turn backing us up to warn us in character that these guys will fuck us up if we get on their radar as a foe.

After all, we saved him some aggravation tracking it all down himself and getting it all in one place, if we then go "Oh, that's your stuff then? Here, it's right in this vault here, we've cleaned the space dust off and everything", we might get a tip for being good primitives.

I'll admit, it's wishful thinking, but it'll be nice if all of that Yeeni Rofling ends up paying out in the end with something Very Useful, rather than just a "In case of apocalypse, die slightly slower" trait.

Nah, they only have the one ship. I assume what the QM means is that they can remotely control the ships we took. Maybe not to the same efficiency if they were crewed, but still enough to curbstomp our whole navy.

-[] Reverse Engineer the Knights (0/5)
(Gain: You can now build Knights Paladin, Errant, and Gallant.)
Oh right this might be a thing to get soon if we get going against a Titan and want the bigger variants in order to equip our Knight Orders. A lot better then trying to use Armigers to take it down. And I am really HOPING its only a Reaver Class Titan and not bigger.

Also, the Psychic Awakening might be happening and we're just not noticing it because we actually have a really damn good psychic tradition and enough identification that it's just proving to having our numbers constantly tick up?
pffffft that would hilarious as everyone else would be panicking and scrambling, dealing with incursions, psyker cabals, and the like and either killing them or gunpoint recruitment and here we are just going 'wow quite the increase in choir candidates should calm down sometime' like its not really a problem at all since we take good care and train our psykers with all the safeguards, we would really only notice I think one or two hundred years down the line when we start getting 10 choirs or more per turn.

I think we managed to scrape together 80 necron ships. Or rather the Yeeni did. Darn bone-seeking fuzzbutts.

Oh, yah that checks out. Yeeni did manage to gather a LOT of them. I didn't realize it was 80 ships or that they could assume direct control on them. I still am worried about the World Engine and want to do a write-in stuff about them but who knows at this point. LOL it would tank relations but be great at getting them to take huge losses and leave them weak enough to eat more of them. and get more Actions out of it.

Nah, they only have the one ship. I assume what the QM means is that they can remotely control the ships we took. Maybe not to the same efficiency if they were crewed, but still enough to curbstomp our whole navy.
I'm gonna be completely honest that flew over my head and I didn't pick up on that, I thought it was more they brought a fleet of that many.
