[X] Yethis Wildrunner

The Swordmasters should remain a single unit so as to not dilute their combat potential.

Personally I think I'd rather choose no one rather then Yethis at this point. Having given it some thought, should we really be choosing the commanding officer of a unit of elves based on how good they are with humans? Yethis seems like she'd be good as someone for say, overseeing the training of our human recruits, or acting as an officer for our humans until we can find someone fit for command among them, but how much does her niche contribute to commanding a unit of elves like the Sea Guard?

Also it would interesting to see if we could get a stat or trait list for Thevan, Inneryl and Yethis if Eol spends the duration of the contract with them. For example our Stewardship stat of 25 is good, but not sky high for an elf. It may be that if we get their stat lists then we'll find that Inneryl has better Stewardship then us, and that we can delegate certain administrative tasks to him.

Wouldn't that make the recruiting pool too small for such a large organisation?
Depends on how large the Sea Guard is. One could make it an enourmous organization, or a small, elite force. And the population of Lothern matters. One could place it as a Rome-style city, with a population of a million, fed only by imports, or as more moderate city. Personally I'd guess Lothern has a population around 250,000 or so, and the Sea Guard numbering about 5,000. That's about 2% of the population. Pretty easily maintainable, especially for a culture that emphasises military service and duty to the King the way the Asur do. Plus, Finubar is PK right now, so I'd be unsurprised to learn the Sea Guard have been expanding, as having a Lothern native as PK is great for them.

Actually, Yethis would be the best for other reason: serving as "intermediary" between Lightfangs & rest of province they're in (which at this point, is either Kislev or Ostland)

We're appointing a commanding officer for the Sea Guard now though. Most of their time would presumably be spent dealing with the Sea Guard rather humans. If we want Yethis as a sort of intermediary wouldn't it be better to say, gove her command of human recruits then command of a unit of elves?

Yes, but there is one condition. These "human recruits" can't be Green Spearmen and Archers recruited en-masse, with 90+% as "expected turnout", because (at least in my opinion) it would be waste of Yethis's "talents"

I'm personally of the opinion that if we ever do recruit green human troops it should only when we're willing to spend some time training them and getting them some equipment. I wouldn't want us to develop a reputation for sending unprepared people into meat grinders. In that regard out of our elves Yethis might actually be pretty good for overseeing their training given her skills with a bow, spear, and tolerance for humans.

Worth making absolutely clear: there's no reason we can't vote for Yethis after Eöl checks that she's a) officer material and b) not secretly agitating on behalf of Aislinn! Just a matter of being cautious - a good number of us, at least, don't want to appoint him permanently.

This is sort of my feeling. If the idea of using him as a temporary leader to vet people hadn't come up, I'd probably be voting for Yethis, but doing some vetting seems really reasonable.

The choice of officers will depend on how we want to expand the company in the near future.

If we want to hire and train humans soon, or wait until we have more resources to do it.

I would be in favor of hiring some Unbloodied first, not a great number but maybe 40-50. Then we give them some extra gear like a shield and a steel helmet.

This way we can have the Sea Guard train them in their way of fighting and make formations.

Then later we hire a larger number of humans, when we have the funds to equip and train them properly.

[X] Nobody

We have like 3 dudes that aren't the swordmasters guys we don't need a fucking chain of command to complicate matters yet, there's literally no reason not to just wait for them to prove themselves come on
