Revised this a bit to clarify what we're aiming for and a reminder that "We're cooperating, we're not besties. Stay on guard and be ready for the Deal to be Altered by them if they feel they're in too commanding a position."
are we gonna use dirge of the innocent to send the souls of chaos, Neon and Glimmering to the star child God-Emperor/Omnissiah ?

i don't what Chaos to use the souls laying around for a ritual or whatever

Hmmm is it perhaps a good idea to align with Neon but when we do the planetary attack we do more collateral damage to planetary and space structures to weaken the world? That way Neon has to focus more on rebuilding the world and potential have less material to work with. And we can use the excuse saying we're merely zealous about ensuring the destruction of chaos?

After all we never did plan to capture the world here and probably won't for another decade or two at least so weakening the world as neon retakes it seems reasonable.

And just to be clear I never said anything about killing untainted populace merely to target infrastructure and as many storage depots as reasonable we can. To deny all material we can from Neon forces.

I hate that i'm saying this, but without the imperial fleet, those hellbringers would scare me a hell of a lot more. They are exactly what i was worried about, Brawler Hybrids. While We CAN win the Air fight, without a doubt, The combination of their airwing to keep our planes busy before they get stuck in swinging with ships that are so much lighter then themwould be a massive problem.
Fromw hat I can find, The hellbringers carry Macrocannons and a Bombardment cannon. The Bombardment cannon fo those unititated in 40k is a space marine weapon, Used primarily for bombarding planets, But Can also function well in close quarters ship combat, Notably having enough power to rip armour plating a new one.

Without the Imperials to pull at least some of the aggro, I think that those hellbringers have a fair chance of being able to trip up our planes with their own, Bog them down and then basically run over the aries to jump on the Libra's to prevent our planes from rearming.

hopefully The slaughter class jumps the Mechanicum, Because otherwise that thing would run roughshod over us with the Hellbringers. Its notably an Insanely fast ships that can not onlydive into a brawl, But can rake ships, with it being notable for its destructive short range armament. This thing probably would have either jump into and killed all of our escorts straight up, Or just deny any ability to maintain distance with its speed.

As is, Hopefully the Gothic cruiser and and slaughter class Maul each other to the point where the Imperium can't turn that Nova cannon on us.

The nova cannon and weapons like it are part of the reason why Escorts don't rule the day, and combat is back to Ship of the line battleships brawling each other. Its a a space grade AOE weapon, and like any other game with a AOE weapon, Its great for killing trash swarms, which our fleet falls under.

Remember that there is no enemy greater than Chaos. Chaos is the ultimate enemy(and maybe the Tyrannid) and you work with anyone against Chaos. Even if they are...whatever the fuck Neon is.

#555
we need to get the 5th anniversary reaction on this

so anyways we are going to liberates slaves but can we do anything about inviting radical Ad Mech over to our side?

[X] Yes, but (Write-In)
--[X] Those Slaughter-class Cruisers are supposed to have good engines, right? (Try to capture that, a reasonably intact sample that can be sanctified would be absolutely worth our time here, and it's not like the Imperials will want something like this. Call it a trophy if you want. We are the ones with Space Marines being brought to the table here.)

--[X] Any slaves we can liberate are probably best in our hands too, it's not like the Imperium will care. The point is, we're here to Kill Chaos, not to get some clay, anything beyond that is bonus. Loot anything that Chaos brought with them that they haven't nailed down, burn anything that can't be sanctified, and have the rest to study or otherwise put to work on a Righteous Cause.
--[X] Finally, remember Outsider Policy. Remember that the balance of power changes once Chaos is on the back foot, be ready to withdraw at a moment's notice. There's nothing forcing them to stick to the deal except their own honor after all. Cooperation is all fine and dandy today against a greater threat, but trust needs to be earned. Don't commit anything that can't be pulled out quickly if the winds and the rains shift.

I do appreciate Chapter Master Chyron's credible impression of an Angry Marine. The hours long triade was *chefs kiss*

Anyway, yeah I agree we should team up with the Neonites... this time at least. 'Cause Chaos is no one's friend.

can we contact any radical Ad Mech? or we not doing that to not rouse suspicion?

If we find some, we'll give them a lift, advertising it is probably not going to work.

But yeah, assuming we do get and can replicate the Scartix Coil if we bag that Slaughter, I imagine it'll be a pretty high Equipment cost mod that lets a ship use the acceleration profile of a hull several sizes smaller. Again, these fuckers are Speed 9 when the average Imperial Frigate is 7 to 8ish, it is the ideal centerpiece for the Vanguard Cruiser I've been workshopping. Hopefully we'll get some other useful equipment options too, since Chaos loves their lance ships despite those apparently being harder to maintain .
