Wait do we? I thought that was just for the first design action we take on a ship type (destroyer/cruiser etc) as we work out the teething problems of the new ship class.
Yes? Every time we've done a Design action DP we have for said type increases. I.e. Creating the Navy update had the Destroyers as 6 DP when the next time we designed a destroyer in the Guided by Hands Unseen update it was now 7 DP.

And now at present we have 10 DP play with for Destroyers.

[...] and who thinks that tech lad from the view-point of the admiral Tanya expie is going to be a potential heretek? because he seemed far more interested in our technology than anything else.
Local Mechanicum Magos Focused On Technology Over People, More At 11.
But really, why would he care about the silly Politic-spat instead of Actual Tech-Heresy?
Not really. You just grabbed the low hanging fruit at the start with each Class. DP are now far harder to come by.

Yeah, major VI breakpoints, Research projects (Which I guess are improved by having salvage to study) and so forth now?

That and using the ships. Surprisingly enough, having something break is a good way to figure out how to make it not do that anymore.
@HeroCooky what's the difference between rotary and normal macro cannons?
Speed of fire. Rotary Macro-Cannons fire at twice the speed of an ordinary one.

Alectai Edit: And they also take up less space than two Macro-Cannons.

And take up less "Weapon Space" too I imagine, you added that line about how "Technically, you can build a ship of nothing but guns, but it'll move and explode like one too", 1 Light Auto Macro is probably less of a hit on our overall tonnage than 2 Light Macros, is that right?

Desire to intentionally make an over costed ship increases even if it will probably be a bad idea

"why did you make this frigate nothing but guns!?! Only orks do that!!!" Tech-Adept manning the Simulation tables.
"Because numbers go BBBBRRRRRTTTTT" -random tech priest designing a new gun-frigate. Yes...its exactly what it says it is.

-Elsewhere-
"Boss, i felz a bit werd..." -random nob
"Oi, dunt be splodin all ova ma table ya git! i got it last...ugh....this-many times ago!" Big Bozz Dakkazsmacka
"But bozz, da humies made a ship out of dakka!" Random Weird boy
"WOT!?! Dis i haz to see! Sumone get da mek boyz and weird boyz in here!" Big Bozz DakkazSmacka

imagine we made some ships for a waagh of free boota orks and pointed them at a direction, oof

that's never going to happen, but explosions abound i think...and data recorded and sent to the nearest courier vessel for "how to not make a actual Gun-Vessel...thats made of guns."

as well as "Dont give stuff to orks, its not a good idea ever."

so question, with the neon's plans to drop an exterminatus as soon as possible, does that mean that our ground forces are kind of useless if we don't build any underground bunkers, with supplies, weapons, etc.

There's not really any defense from "Ships move in and bomb the planet to cinders." Except not letting them achieve void superiority in the first place.

[X] Plan: Building up
-[X] [General] Develop The Federations'...
--[X] Military Industry III
-[X] [Military] [Construct] A Warp Ship - [1x Libra-class Light Carrier]
-[X] [General] Research:
--[X] Ship Design Improvements (0/2)

Here's my proposed plan. It's essential Alectai's plan but with a Destroyer-Sized Pathfinder vessel instead of a Light Cruiser.

[X] Plan: Build-Up And Guidance
-[X] [General] Develop The Federations'...
--[X] Military Industry III
-[X] [Military] Design A New Voidship Class - [Light Cruiser]
--[X]
Libra-Secundus Class Light Carrier
-[X][Military] Design A New Voidship Class - [Destroyer]
--[X] Polaris-Class Pathfinder

And my proposed Destroyer-Scale Pathfinder

[] [Destroyer] Polaris-Class Pathfinder
-[] Length
- 1.200 Meters (+2)
-[] Width - 200 Meters (+2)
-[] Acceleration - 8 Gravities (-1)
-[] Armor - Thick Single Hull (-1)
-[] Shields - One Array (-1)
-[] Weapons - None
-[] Equipment - Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations (-1), Hymns of the Machines (-10)

My intention for the Polaris is a support ship that should realistically never be in range of the enemy's guns. Once it gets a fleet to where it needs to go, a Polaris would detach from said fleet and proceed to use its extreme acceleration and maneuverability to stay several Light Minutes away from anything that could possibly threaten it. It's a very niche ship, but it should keep our Choirs as far from potential danger as we could ever want or need.

So there's different types of exterminatus correct?

Like virus bombing, "normal" void ship munitions to flatten the land, thermonuclear bombs, cyclonic torpedos, etc.

while I doubt bunkers would help with the last one, would making some underground structures protect some of the population from the first 3?
