The logic would be something like... Communication requires at least two to do. Two, to be Other than another, is to be steeped in Isolation, inescapably. And yet, to be only One is to be mired in Isolation in its totality.

Only through some measure of alienation can the biting pain of Isolation ever be diminished.

It's fun cause it ties into Huisheng philosophy stuff real gud.

I am swayed by the "we have not yet seen Isolation side of Bao Boy". Plus, I like the aesthetics more.

So what I'm getting is that most of us are terrible houseguests? I don't care how cool and mysterious the inside is, we should wait for an invitation like a civilized person. I don't care if the spirit cares, I care.

I actually have a pretty straightforward explanation for that: at the level of White's the intersection of "powerful enough that mantling matters" "cares about your cause" and "needs your help to get involved" is incredibly sparse.

But for several realms before that, it's a way to leverage our power to get a loan of even more power.
Of course there's also the issue of most loans coming with some sort of price

Not sure how the vote tallying works so just putting my vote here again where its sure to be counted.

I'm still mostly voting this because the potential for shaping the ritual so that the spirit presents itself as human (by giving it a reflection to work with) is too good to pass up for the long term benefit of the region. If this works it should open up using lower realm priestesses for communion and it may even ripple down to the lesser spirits given that they have been said to be parts of the greater spirit we are now communicating with.

Not only is the action taken one that is more plausibly survivable by lower realm cultivators(scale the mountain, sing in the foyer, be visible) it may also open the door to the Human Order rather than semi-liminal nature spirit shenanigans as a baseline.

No matter how this goes I'll be fine but I must admit the possibilities here intrigue me due to what it means for the future of the region moreso than what it means for Ling Qi (granted, she'll complete the next expression milestone with this too so thats a bonus).
