That makes it acceptable. I'm guessing that in the hell's reflection of us as it forms that the rebels would at this point represent the nightmares, trauma, self-loathing over the use of mind control, and just any dissatisfaction with herself as a person in general. That would make them make sense from the story perspective. Also, always good to have someone willing to question you. Never surround yourself exclusively with yes men.

Constructive Convergence of Principles, 100%. I'd have taken it over hell, and I'm definitely aiming at it being next.

I meant in the context that it's an afterlife, which our worshipers are supposed to go after they die, our citizens that were born there would be worshipers and if they leave they should be in theory treated like any other soul that worships us after death

I would also say it represents Mollys rejection of being a godlike figure or deserving or her exaltation and how she gained it through failure , and considering that the tribes are guarding/living in something which partially represents Malfeas itself.

Edit- was rereading the fivefold court stuff and parsing the great forests and there is a bit on how all 5 are different wothought much detail, since we are already in sets of 5 with vague connections what about the 5 elements of creation? The 'wood' forest which is the most jungle like, the 'fire' forest which has sparcer trees and much more metal dune-dust with some higher average temperatures, the 'water' forest which is all swamp like, the 'earth' forest which is far more mountainous then the others, and an 'air' forest, which has a far higher rate of electrical discharges for some fluff reason.

I think the answer to this comes down to exactly how the white god's changed the rules on lower order deities.

It used to be worship was enough, but in the DF most gods were essentially required to retire even if they had an active religion and if you want a permanent seat in their afterlife it requires something like Odin's personal recruitment practices.

At the same time though we know it's still possible to damn yourself to the thousand hells, so there's clearly more to it than needing personal attention from the big boss.

My bet would be that for the other hells if you die in a thematically relevant way close to a place where they have power in the mortal world the Yama Kings can make an attempt on your soul.

There's also the people who sell their souls, which apparently still works just fine.


That's probably the best loophole. If someone already worships Molly and wants death insurance selling their souls to her wouldn't be that different from the typical "entrust your soul to your god" thing most religions sort of have.


She'd freak at the suggestion, but it could work.

@DragonParadox what are you'd thoughts on allowing the homebrew Sorcery, more specifically, the Workings?

This would be a good point to unlock it given how Molly shaped an entire world from nothing but her Soul and Essence.

It would make sense to unlock at least the workings now that Molly is coming into her Primordial Heritage.

I mean all the existing available spells cost 10 XP each and I doubt any homebrew Sorcery is going to be cheaper even if accepted. It's hard to think of any spell we can come up with that would actually want to buy rather than just getting a charm.

spells by 1 Essence (to a minimum of 1), and lowers the
difficulty of all ancient sorcery rolls by one.
Mechanically this charm sort of sucks. 16 xp and Ancient sorcery is usually cast as a ritual when time and essence isn't that important. However, narratively it makes a great justification for homebrew Sorcery.

BSM has that teleport thing, but we're looking for defense and not utility here. So all it's got going for it is cheap, and since it's flaw allows for people to prepare weapons it will never work against if they figure out the trick it should probably be dropped.

I'd say that AoBF is the most cost effective perfect soak, but that we should probably buy WstW as our perfect soak before it.

Multi attack is more likely to be an issue in the immediate term than someone managing to immobilize us or pull a perfect dodge bypass.

Though I'd still put shaping defenses above either of them.

The problem with the WstW is that the character should be in motion to activate it. So, in case of ambushes, it can let us down. Counter-Conceptual Interposition doesn't have this caveat.

Frankly what we need is VEE as that can instantly grant us the entire small fey spy network access, for free, alongside other great stuff. Broken Seeker, the Jades vampires, hell even the white plot, could all have been stopped much easier and faster if we had proper minions, spread out thou the city reporting information on possible enemies.
 
When teleporting with Bloodless Murk Evasion can we make use of RVD to teleport into a glass of water?

I think that depending on the shape of the hell this would be something you find buried in your own soul somehow. I don't think just getting it because you bought the Hell makes sense.

No, though you could teleport touching the water and vanish into it on the next turn

VEE can grant basically anything that can be traded for. It's is amazing for politicking everyone wants something. It is a shame that our charm just shows us someone's shame rather then their heart's desire.

Edit: Then again for Solars Knowing the Soul's Price (•••••) is a 5 dot charm so I guess we should count our blessings in a way.

In a way I guess VEE might actually be the infernal version of KtSP.

After thinking for a long while, I think this plan is the best way to start our kingdom/realm and reign, although I just want to say I really liked the other plans as well - hopefully we can incorperate and add aspects or eventually even the entirety of the other proposals and their concepts to our initial world (or as additional "worlds" within the realm) because I think they are all wonderfully fascinating.

I think it's a good compromise for homebrew to be more expensive than abilities of equivalent power in the original rulebook, balancing more customisation with higher cost.

On that note, this might be a stupid question, but does our ability to transverse salt water extend to other inhospitable liquids, like how we could go into bleach in a cup - and if so, can we travel our realm through for example molten metal streams and rivers?

I am sorry, but do we even need additional sorcery, considering that there are Linear Magic and Ancient Sorcery spells already? I just think that the resulting system will be overcomplicated.

What is even more important the higher dots of Sorcery Paths allow to do some pretty amazing things, in spite of the fact that sorcerers should be discount mages.

I think that we should appear in the throne room and that our appearance should match ancient prophesy. There will be caretakers waiting for Alec and Izzy that have been preparing for this moment for centuries. They had to compete against thousands of others for the honor of providing Molly her first service justifying their worlds existence.

You raise a fair point, but if the homebrew has special custom utility or fulfils a capability gap our regular charms don't then a higher xp price (and/or need to study/develop/resarch through an action) seems important for fair balance - putting in more work for power we weren't originally intended to have, and making selecting homebrew more strategic (plus ensuring we don't just select jomebrew upgrades). The trick, as you've mentioned, is to balance the cost in xp, wealth, actions or other reasources isn't so prohibitive to disincentivise ever using it homebrew at all
