It does, the base difficulty for 'help me for free spirit I never encountered before' is 8.
That one is arguable. We could probably extract materials from our kingdom, but if we need bulk purchases, like for, I don't know, lining the walls of our mansion for mystical purposes, or building a secret subway, it's more practical to use this.

Since training is an option I'm tossing up a vote for it. We're talking about the equivalent of a two dot background for a century, so they should be pretty good teachers. Maybe enough to get us up a few dots quickly and into some of the really crazy alchemy.

Not really? Don't we still have to work out the logistics of moving between reality and our Hell, along with transporting cargo and passengers? Halving the time spent in Alchemical production might not be super helpful in the medium or long term, but it could come in handy in the near future.
Establishing a working relationship with the Head Elf and his minions could also pay dividends in future endeavors. just look how well Harry's habit of bribing the local Wild Fae with pizza worked out for him in later years.

Knowledge of another prince of earth is worth more than the body. Either as a new circle mate* or as warning against a very dangerous foe.
*Exalted are so much more effective in general when there is enough of them to specialize. If we could have another reliable ally we can bring into dangerous situations that would be worth so much in action economy.

With what focus? Also our crown has consistently had trouble looking for knowledge on exaltations because of the can't look at itself rule. Even when we have asked it to tell us what other people know about our crown.

After thinking on it I think its rather unlikley he'll get anywhere with that. At some point his boss will probably seek us out and if need be we can use the Crown on guy we are negotiating with to get his lord's name to look into later.
We don't need to give up the body. We can use the Crown to investigate later.

When we asked almost exactly that same question before about the Lord of Kakuri we just got a short circuit. DP seems to be against us learning about the central mystery of the plot using our crown.

I wasn't aware we were given details on who and what our Kingdom will have in it.
The reason we got a short circuit was explicitly because we were using a focus we made ourselves - the Big Book of Yomi Wan.
EDIT: The reason not to ask abour Odin's knowledge is that Odin will know we asked about his knowledge. Safer to do this with a Crown.

@DragonParadox would we be able to use Odin's servants (either valkyries, or elves if we get them in our service via this trade, or some other trusted and close servant) to ask a crown question about his knowledge of exaltations / his knowledge of exaltation locations?
