An infinite world of possibilities brought about by all sorts of changes, and it's fucking Sayaka and Kyoko again.
I'm not great at writing romance or understanding what makes characters fit well together (there's a reason X's first reaction to being asked about a romantic relationship is polite disinterest), but I do enjoy reading them. So I'm more or less sticking with what I already know I liked in the realms of love. At least, in this case, where it probably won't be very relevant to to story.

We are talking ideal here people.

[X] Plan: This is the ideal.
-[X] …is someone dedicated to their work.
-[X] …would be a peer or conversation partner.
-[X] …is deeply compassionate.
-[X] …has a very strong moral compass.

All of em. That's the whole point of it being ideal.

Comments on the update after, but first, I decided to reread Ignition a little and stumbled upon this author note by Alivaril:

QM's Exasperation: I went through and did the math, and the series of rolls that resulted in the whole "Royal Agni" thing had a 0.0021175% chance of actually leading to that outcome. Seriously, what the hell?

When I said THE CRITS changed the quest, I meant it, and that's part of why.

And now, for our normal program:

Sleep tight.

But you are intimately familiar with the ways that learning the wrong thing at the wrong time can hurt a person.

: what are you talking about? Everything is fine here,I'm sure the others agree!

: Absolutely, everything is fine, nothing to see here!

: Agreed!

: Agreed!

: GEBURA SLASH!

: ….

: Agreed….

: Ayin!

: *Laugh*

Bit by bit, building up the subconscious skill on how to read social situations with people not in the best place mentally.

Fixed it for her, because let's be honest, the start state was Ayin's social skills.

It's a moot point anyways. You can't simply snap your fingers and fix everything that's wrong with a person.

Hmmm, actually, have you tried? You never know you know. :V

Besides, you already have bad news to deliver tonight. Kyoko needs to know about what happened to her family's bodies.

Today is good news day!

Oh, sorry, wrong prompt:

Today is bad news day!

At least your kids aren't nearly as unstable.

Homura: Hold my beer!

"She never hits Yuma, or says mean things, or forgets that Yuma's there. She's excellent!"

The table goes silent for a moment as you all process what was just said.

*Hug the Yuma.*

"There's… maybe somebody."

"Somebody I know?" you ask. Kyoko nods.

"I don't… I don't know them very well yet. But maybe if we get to know each other better, then…"

Oh no! She has fallen for Violin boy! Quick, prepare an intervention!

What? Sayaka? Don't be ridiculous, that's

Your ideal hypothetical partner…

[x] …is someone dedicated to their work.
-[x] …would be a peer or conversation partner.
-[x] …is deeply compassionate.
-[x] …has a very strong moral compass

What do you mean, *too picky*? I say it's barely picky enough!

We could add some additional requirements that would make it pickier if yall want.

For example:
[] ...Is nice on the eyes.
[] ...Likes children.
[] ...is strong and capable.
[] ...etc etc.

Personally, I think what we have currently is nice enough. X probably isn't putting that much thought into this anyway.

1st sounds like ayin ie dad
2nd sounds like we might data a fellow abnormality
3rd sounds like Carmen ie mom
4th sounds like Don Quixote

[] …is someone dedicated to their work.
[] …would be a peer or conversation partner.
[] …is deeply compassionate.
[] …has a very strong moral compass.
Hmm, these all corespond to one of the four attributes. 1 is Fortitude, 2 is Prudence, 3 is Temperance, and 4 is obviously Justice. That aside, Im thinking that 2 would be the best? X has met many people who have the qualities of 1, 3, and 4, but the closest she has ever gotten to 2 are Angela, Binah, and Hokma, none of whom are romantically viable. with that said, my vote goes to

[X] …would be a peer or conversation partner.

[X] Plan: This is the ideal.

-[X] …has a very strong moral compass.

I was, well I wasn't surprised Sayaka and the red one whose name I already forgot are gonna get together, although I think I would've preferred it not coming up if it's not gonna be relevant to the story. Ah well, this is a Madoka fic.

I'm probably going to be the only person complaining about it, so I can't fault you for sticking with what's worked. Still, feels like a hell of a missed opportunity. Like the kids at the Library. It doesn't feel like anything is happening with them.

So, I hope if the ideal votes wins, she prefaces it with "Well, if I'm going to fantasize, may as well dream big"...Not that I think her finding someone who meets all such expectations is unlikely.

Depending on your perspective, The Adult meets at least half of those qualifiers

: That nice boy next door fits all of them too you know? He's compassionate, has a rather strong moral compass, is dedicated to his work and he's of a similar disposition to you too.
: She won't date Argalia no matter how many mental hoops you jump through Carmen.
: Argalia isn't a bad boy! He's just misunderstood!
: ...He's a maniac that turned his sister into a doll in order to mock his own brother-in-law. Which by the way is your fault.
: Ah...well...uh...I dunno what you are talking about.

This is true, and with a little help and a night to sit on it...

I had a terrible joke thought thing that amuses me greatly and I just had to share while I vote.

--[JK] Hey, wait, isn't that just one of your high-ranking Agents? What were the rules on fraternizing with the staff, again? There-there were rules on that, right?

Edit: Changed my vote because someone gave a priceless addition.

[X] Plan: This is the ture ideal.
-[X] …is someone dedicated to their work.
-[X] …would be a peer or conversation partner.
-[X] …is deeply compassionate.
-[X] …has a very strong moral compass.
-[X] ...is not a religious madman

Truly ideal.

Now that I think about, I did just find the perfect ideal person, one who has all the requested criterion:

Think about it:

-He is absolutely dedicated to his work.

-There is no doubts he is a peer to X.

-He only wants the best for humanity, and is so hurt by their chains that he work tirelessly on removing them, you can't do more compassionate.

-He knows what he wants, and knows that it is good for everyone, his moral compass definitely is quite strong.

So? Everyone agrees?

So? Everyone agrees?
At that point we may as well go whole hog for:
  1. He came to X's facility of his own will to carry out his work
  2. He is undeniably a peer to X's true form as stated by Lepidoptera
  3. He shall heal you, curing you of all disease and injury you possess
  4. He will not leave us until he brings the light of redemption to this sinful world
  5. He is much more fashionable than some wannabe human savior

[X] Plan: This is the ideal.
All of em. That's the whole point of it being ideal.
Ideally X will wax poetic about each and every trait, to the point where her children regret pressing her on this!
