I'm fairly sure essence 3 will happen at a time when we feel like it and have the required exp. If we really wanted to we could likely buy it right after this arc finishes. That depends if we want to though or if its even a good idea.

No we had a vote. Essence goes up with our total XP rather something we pay for individually. However we have already passed the threshold for essanse 3 so DP said he will have it happen at a narratively appropriate moment.

We no longer control when our essence increases it reflects our general power level. We voted to follow the extea done on the doc because the maker said to made more sense.

sorry the extea done? Thats neat as long as dp doesn't withold it too long. Not that it matters too much we were always gonna have to debate buying essence since the next rank would always cost us most of our exp after any given arc. If not more then we make later on which was definitely going to get to a point probably after essence 3 where it would take like a dozen arcs before essence 4 or something since we'd never be able to buy it or save long enough normally.
Edit: Hope we eventually get minor time skips cause if not we're not gonna reach book events much less book events like 5 or 6 books ahead. I wanna kill the red court.

I mean some of them we most definitely do not like we can interact with plots that don't exist yet. We are also sure as hell not pulling off a red court genocide ritual with mass sacrifice to kill them all. Also I want time to pass like I don't want this whole quest to be like a single years in like three years.

If we actually play seriously we can attack the red court with an army of darkness. Or nuke them. Also the organizational curse charm.
But there are other things as well like golden years tainted black. We could make every member of the red court hate every other member of the red court with a burning passion poisoning all their good memories of each other. GYTB costs no essanse and only requires us to jog a person's memories we can spam them.
We have so many different ways to destroy the red court.

wow thats terrifying lol the last one that is. The first one is uhm not likely to work on so many levels also doesn't seem likely we can even find ALL red court. Also you know dp gave a god damn white court vampire a 7 dot ability I don't really have faith older red courts don't have even more bullshit abilities. Also you know that sounds like it would have a lot of collateral and end with a huge war. Also the nuke idea is horrible and unlikely to even work I mean their not all in one place.

I haven't actually ever seen ETE (the organization curse charm) used in play. The City of the BullGod podcast never used it. I wonder if I can find some other ExWod podcast that does.

Killing every single member of the Red Court ala Harry's stolen genocide ritual would just lead to the same problems as in the books, namely a vacuum worldwide for the forces of darkness to take advantage. Molly isn't quite at the point where she can step in to fill the enormous gap in power that the Red Court would leave in South America, much less the entire world.
Of course, if we limited ourselves to just taking out the top honchos, we can minimize the worldwide strife while still dealing a massive blow against some of the vilest monsters of the night. Even if some other faction takes advantage of the Red Court losing all their heavyweights to a surprise Exalt/nuke (basically the same thing really) to expand, it won't be as chaotic as if every Red vamp dropped dead and it'll send one hell of a message that Molly is not to be messed with.
It's like that one scene at the start of the ExWoD rulebook, only instead of a Dawn caste with a horsehead mask and mall katana taking out a dozen vamps simultaneously, it's Molly flying straight into Chichén Itzá with a pocket nuke
Epic in a way only the Exalted can do.

It's a real shame manifesting our kingdom on earth requires human sacrifices that explicitly aren't COD*. *Which honestly annoys me. I generally feel like Infernals charms should be made to have the aesthetics of evil without actually requiring it, but in this case the writer of BWI went out of their way to cut off as many non evil ways to use the charm as possible.

I don't think "we can't kill the monsters because then other monsters would just move in" is a compelling argument. The actual solution is to keep killing monsters until you either run out of monsters or the monsters fuck off and stop harming people.
This is the same sort of logic that insists that it perfectly fine for Mab and the Winter Court to do whatever horrible stuff they want just because they have an important job.
That is how they can function in Exalted, a lot of stuff like VEE where you can cheat around the downsides if you want.
Holden doesn't like Infernals and both half-assed the charm conversions and specifically set up Infernals to be used as antagonists. There are a lot of issues with Infernal charms resulting from that.

In general I totally agree.
But in this particular case, if we had the chance to kill all the high-tier Reds in one stroke, might that not be the better option?
We, the White Council and all their natural rivals like the Formor or the Whampires will hunt down the leaderless Reds, filling the power-vaccum more slowly and perhaps with less human victims than the sudden fall?
I'm certainly not saying we shouldn't kill the Reds, but a decapitation at Chichen Itza might be cleaner than totally disintegrating them all at once.

I was just objecting to letting a lot of monsters live because it would create a monster power vacuum. If we can strike major blows we should do so and not put it off for a theoretically perfect shot.

If Molly managed to kill all the high-tier Reds in one stroke then she might as well take over the red court she herself as their new dread overlady. She perfectly fits the mental slot.

I agree that if we have a chance, we should totally take it to kill any monstrous murderer of the night. It's just that 1) it's much simpler to take out the leadership with a nuke than trying to steal their ritual and change it to kill every single Red vamp, and 2) it's all about timing and relative power; if Molly is in a position to smack down anyone trying to move in on the former Red Court's territory, she should go for the 100% speedrun, but if she hasn't scaled up in terms of minions to cover a worldwide, or at least South American, span of territory, it might be better to just go for the leadership and let the Red Court wither away under the pressure of everybody else sensing weakness to minimize the overall chaos until we can put our boot down on everybody's neck.
Because while the Winter and Summer Courts are in a similar position where they could feasibly have their leadership decapitated in an alpha nuclear strike without harming any innocents, I wouldn't want to drop a nuke on the Jade Court in the middle of China anytime soon (WWIII anyone?). And the White Court, unfortunately, can't be solved with just nuclear weapons, if only because so many Whampires live in or near cities for us to risk the collateral.
